    Thanks for sharing your setup for hoisting gear up a tree. I'm going to try one of these out.

    Thanks for the review. Although, my hoist broke the first time I used it, I found it to be cumbersome and more trouble than it's worth. Para cord works great, is cheap, and light.

    Love mine. Have the webbed version. At first thought it was pretty heavy for what it does...but now that I think of it, it gives it the not so cheap and rigidity feel. Less likely to break.

    Love mine, I have the rope version. I just use two hands to lower the bow down so I don't burn my hands.

    I have the rope version. I would say it's one of the best pieces of gear I own. I hated bow ropes for the reasons described in the video but also because of where I hunt there are many stickers that would end up in bow rope and eventually in my hand or pocket.

    Yeah ropes are Effin Friggin Fuggin junk..Im lovin my Doyle huntin hoist...First time using mine I didn't attach it correctly and my bow came off before it even left the ground lol....Like that idea of how to determine how high up you are..Great review 👍👍

    Just ordered one. Having no experience with it, the one thing I'll miss about a rope is that once you lower your bow with it you can just drop the rope to the ground and then not have to worry about it while climbing down. Even if you thought you could drop the Doyles safely (a big pile of leaves), it would suck itself towards your bow by retraction and smack your bow! Too bad there isn't a way to lower your bow and then remotely disconnect it (maybe a grappeling hook but then you could drop your bow if you bumped a branch).

    Those Doyle's hoists clip to a saddle and work tickety boo. Before I discovered these, I used to carry my bow on my back up into the tree. Fuck ropes and strings.

    I’ve tried to find one but can’t. It seems like they don’t make them anymore. Does anyone know of any strap versions sellers?

    Looking into saddle hunting. What’s the purpose of knowing the tree diameter? Does that have something to do with the way you set up your tree rope or bridge setup.
    Thanks

      I like to know my tree diameter just to help me know what size trees I like to hunt. Depending on the size tree you might have to raise your lower your tree strap height.

    Were did you get a Black hoist with a nylon strap all the ones I found have s cord the camo is the only one with nylon strap

    why not clip to the top of the saddle with no modification to the clip?

    • @BoudreauxBoswell
      @BoudreauxBoswell  5 років тому

      Clipping it inside the saddle will up the clip in the saddle. With the clip between your body and the saddle it can create a pressure point, similar to a wallet in your pocket.

    There are a lot of gear hoists on the market. The Doyles hoist is the most expensive. I wonder if the others are just as good? In another video you said you were going to review the summit hoist, but I don't see that on your videos page. Have you reviewed any other hoists. Are the cheaper ones just as good?

    • @BoudreauxBoswell
      @BoudreauxBoswell  3 роки тому +1

      I am not sure if any of the cheaper ones are just as good, I know that the summit was a disappointment.

    Webbing ones are not available anywhere.. Did they stop making them??

      I am not sure, I have no affiliation with them. I hope they didn't...

    HAHA...Yes most people exaggerate their hunting height...listened to a video today the guys says he hunts at 34 feet...lmmao...I really doubt it

    • @BoudreauxBoswell
      @BoudreauxBoswell  3 роки тому +2

      Most people would crap their pants at 30 and above, much less be hard to find a huntable tree at that height.

    So why do you care or why does it matter the diameter of the tree?

    • @BoudreauxBoswell
      @BoudreauxBoswell  3 роки тому

      It just gives me an idea of what size trees I typically favor to hunt from. Also, it allows me to know what size trees my gear will work in from small to large. Just something extra I like to know.

    I think the hook up is garbage. Way over priced. Get a dog leash.
