Why not loosen the thread of the molly attachment of just one loop so the opening of the loop is twice the size and should fit the plastic/metal clip instead of cutting the plastic/metal clip?

U could do that if u wanted to... but I would rather not cut any stitching on my saddle and I also wanted a tight fit so the hitch doesn’t move around that much.. There r many different ways u could do it .. thanks for watching the video and giving others another option...

Wonderful demo! I'll be trying the hoist out. Quick question: how much weight would you feel comfortable pulling up on one hoist? Would it pull up multiple items like a bow, platform, and backpack, or would you suggest a second hoist on the other side of the saddle?

That's a great question. First off there are two types, one with the rope and one with the strap, my personal preference is the strap much easier on the hands. Before getting the hoist I had used rope and strap pull up lines and the strap was always better. They list the break strength of the strap at 200 lbs, I don't think they rated the plastic end. When I first got it I tried it in the back yard with weights and found that 20 lbs was comfortable, after that it started to put more pressure on your hands. I think u would just need one for a saddle hunting platform, bow (average weight is 4-5 lbs) and depending what u have in your backpack. It's a nice set up on how the strap attaches to your items, no limit on size.

Where do you find the Doyle’s hoist in webbing rather then just string?

I had gotten it off Amazon... when I looked last they only had the string... I prefer the webbing over the string... easy to hold on to and less likely to burn your hand with a quick decent of your equipment.

Good video bossman. Keep them coming; viewers will come as saddle hunting is definitely trending.
I don't know about you but those dremel doohickeys scare the dang you know what and what not out of me. I've hat shards of discs flying all about. I always wear eye protection.
So is the gear hoist a good idea? Seems kinda large but what do I know. I guess you could use it with real purpose with a compound bow or your platform.

Donovan thank u for the kind words... I agree with the Dremel comment, but I thought it would be better with that than my big air grinder...LOL...I agree the Doyle gear hoist is large but what a difference it makes.. When its hanging off the back u forget it's there... I have seen comments by individuals on Saddle hunter saying do the figure eight around your thumb and pinky... I have done that on the ground but when u are pulling up your bow, gun or pack u can't do it then and the rope always seems to get tangled.... as your pulling up with the Doyles the strap is going into the reel, nothing to tangle... it's so nice.
