I have these steps and have had no issue with them. I also like the ratchet strap as opposed to the OCB too! I like your tip on getting the steps close to the ratchet buckle and how you stick them together in pairs rather than all in one bunch..I will try that..Also Mark at Treehopper has been great with me, I am sure if there is some flaw he will figure out how to make it right! I imagine if this is a design flaw and is happening with any frequency, people would be talking about it on the forums. Mark from Treehopper is a great guy and will stand behind his products if there is a problem with them.
