Agree 100%. Only would say one of the greatest entertainers ever. Not just Rock & Roll. The guy can probably do anything with some degree of greatness. Maybe he's a bad speller or something. Or his feet stink.

I would say that from 1978 - 1990 , Nobody could touch DLR or Van Halen. There were of course synonymous . If you saw a pic of Dave long flowkng blonde main strutting around on stage an unwittingly influencing Pro Wrestlers for the next 30 years , the visual if him as described the first thing that popped into your head was Van Halen. If somebody said Van Halen , i would think of Eddie cocked vack on his imaginary kick stand for his patent backward lean and Dave jumpin around kick spinning and spin kicing drum foundation leaping. Amazing audio and video.
Everything they did turned to gold. The midas touch they had it along with everythkng else.........A solid "" 10 """ in every catagory ! Nothing before , DURING OR SINCE HAS EVER CAME CLOSE.
COMPARED TO THEM , MUSIC THATS DONE TODAY US AN INSULT I HEARD THEM FIRST TIME I WAS 17. WHEN I H EARD THEM I HAD NO IDEA THAT MY FATE WAS SEALED.
ON OBE SIDE OF THE COIN I WAS HEARING THE VERY BEST MUSIC I EVER HEARD.
LITTLE DID I KNOW SLSO AT THE TIME THAT IT WE AS S CURSE. A CURSE THAT MADE ALL OTHER MUSIC FROM THAT POINT ON SOUND LIKE SHITI WAS PEAKED OUT MUSICALLY AT 17.
I WAS TO NEVER HEAR ANYTHING ELSE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE THAT WAS AS GOOD . KNOWING WHAT I KNOW NOW WOULD I DO IT AGAIN ALL OVER ?????? ...
YOU BETCHO YO ASS BABY !!

What do you say that all of us 80's were the best types get together and fill up a large oil tanker with $$$ Then tell Elon Musk that all the money is his if he can create a 1980s world that all of us could live in for the rest of our days. A pkace with integrity and class.
No room for Rush or Bon Jovi , sorry Canadian Stoners and 13 year old poster hangers need not apply. Just tbe boys who knew how to rovk like the Stones, and Zep n Oz and Dokken and Nugent and Scorps n Priest n WASP. N Motorhead , n Mega n and Chains n Zombie n T h e Cult and a few others AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST WOULD BE THE DLR (eat em n smile) band and the guests of honor Van Halen but not eddie, alex , anthony a nd the tequila selling dwarf sheep dog! No im sorry. Boys you can come on.in anytime but you have to leave your midget sheep dog outside.

Looking back at all this with 30 years of hindsight...I cant think of anyone who lived more of the 80s than DLR **AND** came out the other side alive and able to talk about it! Happy Bday Dave and congrats on making it to retirement. So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Dave put that extra ZAP in videos and music. His voice is universally recognized, his antics and fun he had making all these videos. Yes, there will never, ever, EVER, be anyone remotely close to holding Dave's jock strap; mostly because he always has the knock-out hot-as-hell foxes holding them for him! If it were possible, I'd re-live the 80's over and over again. Dave, thanks for making life enjoyable.

Haven't seen this video in years, it's still resonates with me in how he can deliver you to another dimension with style and charisma and allow you to wish you were him while singing Yankee Rose at the top of your lungs into your hairbrush in the bathroom mirror and going into the 7 ELEVEN and ordering a bottle of anything and a glazed doughnut to go and the Indian looking at you like you are going crazy from the heat and you just Eat em and Smile. I sang 'School Days' by Chuck Berry at my 2nd grade talent show and had the crowd on its feet but my moves and swag were all because of this man .. That was in 1992 and I'm 38 now lol .. I had this VHS 2x as a young boy growing up along with all of DLR's albums and the VH albums .. I can remember my Mom's face 1st time seeing that '1984' cover lol .. Although I didn't get it until Xmas of '88, as I was born in '83, I was enamored .. Eat Em and Smile was my absolute favorite though .. At one point I actually had the vinyl/cassette/cd .. 'Yankee Rose' is an absolute gem and a classic rock banger !! After hearing this I never thought VH would ever record again lol .. Those guys Vai/Bisonette/Sheehan/DLR really made a kick ass band !! Nothing got me into more trouble on the dance floor than when Jump got played in the bars. I was really into martial arts then and my high kicks and splits nearly got me into a lot of trouble, a lot of times. Lol. I felt that Diamond Dave was my brother from another mother. Lol.

Dave TV was fantastic. We watched this on VHS back in 1988, over and over. Seeing it again, I realise now that I quote Dave TV all the time: "forget about it Dave", "you got charasma" (used a lot), "only 3 or 4 of these in my whole lifetime" (favourite for weddings), "not in my shop you don't" and so on. Just brilliant. Thanks Dave.

This is awesome! So glad I watched this! If it wasn't for the funny spots, I wouldn't have gotten a much needed laugh. :)
