Job 7:1 (Douay-Rheims) The life of man upon earth is a warfare, and his days are like the days of a hireling. The spiritual life is warfare. Interior and exterior. Who has a greater battle to fight than he who strives to conquer self. With a few exceptions when we are not fighting we should be training. Be often mindful of the saying, “After the stormy winter night comes the calm summer day.” But do not forget that after the calm summer day comes the stormy winter night. Train (scripture, prayer, alms, sacrifice, adoration) during the calm to prepare for the battle in the stormy winter night. You will fight the way train!
I have 30 years of martial arts experience and I have taught Survival Skills for 24 years. I love the scenario where Satan tells the WARRIOR he will NOT SURVIVE the storm. The warrior replies - I AM THE STORM! I wear the Armor of God bracelet and medallion around my neck. Exodus 17:16 “ A hand upon the banner of the Lord! The Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.” This made sense with Israel constant war with Muslims and their supporters around the world.
