The power of mimetic desire is interesting, but I would like to hear clinical psychologists opinions on how many people actually act in that way. It seems like a very simplistic template. Don’t people have different interest’s? I remember cabbage patch dolls, I know people that had many. However, I think in most cases, they thought they would have greater value in the future…like gold! I think they all ended up in goodwill.😂. And as regards to saints, each saint had a unique interest,…that is heartfelt, how many people watching a St. Damien, or Mother Teresa even if they were wearing medals around their neck and with their acclaim, would follow them. Our Parish has a Holy Hour on First Sundays at 4pm. It includes 5 decades of the Rosary and Benediction. As I'm limited mobility and use a mobility scooter I cannot go between November and February inclusive as it is dark, but hope to be able to do so again from March. We also have silent adoration after morning Mass most Tuesdays and Thursdays, it is possible to stay for part or all.

Went to Church in Minnesota a few months ago and was very impressed with how devoutly conservative the liturgy of the Mass was conducted by the Celebrant.

These philosophers got it all wrong and their influence, so pervasive, insipid, glued to almost every idea today, academically, politically and completely accepted without question, even by those who don’t even know where or how it originated. What they have overlooked, and what proves the wrong of their ideas, is the free will of God’s creation included in humanity. Thus, it follows, that God does not control everything. Thus, outcry if God is good, if God is love why did He let this (such and such) therefore there must not be a God, or God must be dead. Free will, designed in the creation of man in the garden of Eden, is something not within God’s purvue. God did not want Eve to listen to the serpent, but she had the free will to make a choice about it. He did control nor stop her from that. Human events, history all through the millennia, have been made of man’s free will based on God’s creation. What God offers, in an attempt to repair all the accumulated sins of His creation, mankind, so fallen, with the tragic sacrifice of His only son and first born of death in the resurrection is faith, by relinquishing our free will and praying to put our lives in our Lord, thus remedying the iniquities and accepting God’s grace, love, beauty and truth. Who has a greater battle to fight than he who strives to conquer self. With a few exceptions when we are not fighting we should be training. Be often mindful of the saying, “After the stormy winter night comes the calm summer day.” But do not forget that after the calm summer day comes the stormy winter night. Train (scripture, prayer, alms, sacrifice, adoration) during the calm to prepare for the battle in the stormy winter night. You will fight the way train!
