Man. Don’t insult Wyoming. It’s a great state with great people. All 17 1/2 of them. In all seriousness, Devil’s Tower is cool as hell. If you haven’t seen it in person, it’s worth it.
Been watching you for years and I still learned so much in this video. Watching you teach someone the basics is such a good way to pick up things I missed along the way!
"Double down. The more times you fortify on the tile the stronger he is." 🤯 Does everyone know this?! I learn so much from every Potato video, but holy crap this was awesome. Entertaining, but also getting tips I haven't heard before, because Potato is verbalizing things that are normally second nature to him, little things I've missed or the game doesn't tell you. Same with moving past/through enemy units vs all the way around.
Love this format. I learned that barbarians go berserk, settling on coast removes cliff, there's a bar for unit xp, and so many other little things. The more I play civ the more I love it. So many little details that make the game better.
So fun fact: devils tower is actually in Wyoming, I’ve been and it’s nowhere near as impressive as you’d expect. Take whatever height you’re imagining from the word “tower” and cut it in half, it’s more like the devils foot stool proportionally speaking. But from a geology standpoint it’s still super cool.
As a Wyoming native, I've never made an effort to see devils tower, nor have I ever seen in person. It is very cool the formation, but idk it's overrated imo
I believe "positive feedback loop" is the word you're looking for. Technically any feedback loop is a self perpetuating cycle, positive or negative, but adding positive add clarity.
@@jessethomas9221 definitely could be. Was wondering why I've never heard that term before and it seems to be a political phrase that is sprinkled into make juicy soundbites for economic policies. Since I don't watch the news, that kind of explains that.
A negative feedback loop is kinda the opposite of a vicious cycle confusingly enough. It's a system that reduces fluctuations, where the product reduces the signal to produce more etc. Not quite self perpetuating but self regulating. I figure since you mentioned the positive loop this may be known, but just for clarity in case.
This was interesting. I've been playing Civ 6 for two years and I've lately felt like my games have been a bit worse. After seeing Potato coaching, I realize a lot of the stuff I was just overlooking
Potato had a giant advantage with having the 2nd run, I have no doubt Nick would wipe the floor if he had gone 2nd in this video x)) I'm a few episodes left into finishing Tides of Death so this was cool to see pop up!
My only tip would be is slow down, The first part was very relaxed and easy to follow, Once you get behind the pc it goes very fast and the rekaxed vibe is gone.
so IMO the difference between noob (Nick) and your play was that one settler from the pantheon you got early on and the consequence of having that one more city early. Anyway very interesting video and i hope to see more of these. peace!
Quite an interesting one as the questions that your friend ask are often what a lot of people with a lower level at the game are wondering. It makes you explain stuff that feels natural to you and would potentially skip in another setup. Thanks :)
1:59:01 the Devil's Tower is in North America in Wyoming to be exact, and is not a Volcano Magma glows into the sedimentary rock or at least the most accepted theory but it never was a Volcano.
Potato, you're wrong about the initial meeting stuff. It's simply a random modifier to your relationship applied upon meeting and based on difficulty level. There's no logic regarding scouts or military units.
wasn't diplo penalty for first meet a myth? I remember boes talking about his experiment with a conclusion-no matter what unit meets other, penalty is random??
Potato help me. I downloaded the brigade court but when I destroy a barb camp he doesn't show as an option to pick from the vampires society pops up how do I fix this. Yes it's enabled I just want to get my pirate on
Nick* Hey that's my name too, he definitely did better. Also his reaper comment cut me to core because I lose mine all the time vs AI. I like the little SC2 talk. GGs bros.
22:25 if the barbarian outpost has made an warrior, doesn't that mean it is "land"type one and will never produce an naval unit? tbh, i haven't played civ 6 in a while and last times where with the barbarian clan mode, so i'm not 100% sure
I really loved this video, continue this series pls
Also, Devil's Tower is Wyoming, not South America. I can't believe you would insult all 12 people that live in Wyoming like that.

Never did I expect to hear a Longest Johns mention on this civ channel.
Perfectly adequate!
Have fun Potato and tell us about it next time.
Didn't even make the connection till you mentioned it.
dude where? need it

the way i'd play this start is by rerolling it
Settling on the plains hills is good too tho
oh my god, I've been playing since release and I never noticed the white XP bar for units. I always just guessed
this is called bad UI design.

Potato, this is the first video I’ve watched of you in a while, so I hope I will enjoy this video, so I can get back to watching you actively
@@General_Dane same
Why does this sound like a threat? "This is your last chance to entertain me, or I won't keep watching."
Gossip: *General_Dane has sent Potato a warning.*
@@godloki098
@@General_Dane did you enjoy it? im in a same situation
@@misouna Yes i did
It would have been interesting to see how he plays without Potato coaching him.

Based and true
Very cool idea! Not quite noob vs. pro comparison with the amount of coaching you provided but still a fun watch.
oooh we're playing civ 6 again
Love the @thelongestjohns name drop--hope you have fun at their concert!
Now this feels like live coaching. I love videos like this - you always learn something new

Potato probably forgot more stuff about Civ6 than we mere spuddies ever knew.
Jokes aside, this was very informative and fun!
very good concept for a video ! would be even better iy potato would ACTUALY not tell him anythign to se the real difference :D
This reminds me of the diety vs noobs challenge, so this should be very good!
2:09:45 You did so much better 👏
This video is just amazing, ho-ly. I learned a lot, had a lot of fun and at some point was cheering for Nick to take over Telavi so bad lol
you should've run this in reverse, because potato, you clearly didn't even have to do any scouting yourself and could pre-plan all your moves
My thought as well. He already has a good idea how the map looks, where to settle, location of nearby civs, etc.
If its in reverse then potato can just get copied. The ideal is if they both do it seperately but then we dont get to hear them chat.
I love your let's plays but seeing you react in real time to someone else play with their reasoning is extremely insightful.
oh Wannes is like that, funny thing is he came outta nowhere and climbed to the top of CPL really fast
Dude, potato coaching I learned so much stuff! Incredible.
1:00 Literally 1 minute in and we´ve already upset an entire country
lol noticed that too, its like calling the Irish English
1:59:01 the Devil's Tower is in North America in Wyoming to be exact, and is not a Volcano Magma glows into the sedimentary rock or at least the most accepted theory but it never was a Volcano.
Was going to say Potato needs to watch Close encounters of the third kind so he'd know Devils tower was in the US. It's in Wyoming though.
@@LidgeTIN Oops i meant to put Wyoming don't know why I typed Montana instead
Wyoming is my home state and it hurt me when he said it was in south America lol
This was a really fun video! Always good to watch you enjoy civ
Awesome to hear Styrmir and Vasher back together again...
This is a real cool way to play. The pass-off style is quite neat. I should try that, sometime.
ooooh looks like I'm gonna be having an amazing 2 hours
Heck yeah, Nick content 🥰
a lot to learn from this video! nice to see some new civ 6 content
This video is hilarious! more please.
You two laughing like old men is hilarious haha
I love you and nick! This makes me so happy
This is gonna go just about the same way the 10x everything video did
I've never seen someone so confident while having no clue
Give Jamie a break he is trying his best
But I'm glad u and a friend gamerd together
may be the best civ video.... ive ever watched.... this mf asking some great questions
❤ great format. Interesting discussion “Side by side”. Insightful for mid level players. Can you finish the game with your friend?
More of this!!!!
I really liked that video 😊
The term is "virtuous cycle."
i could make the same video with you ;D
Nice video, glad you're back at civ6
Are you hyped for against the storm dlc?
"watched potato's video on settling the first city" THEN DIDN"T WALK TO THE LUXURY!!!!!
Potato, you're wrong about the initial meeting stuff. It's simply a random modifier to your relationship applied upon meeting and based on difficulty level. There's no logic regarding scouts or military units.
Mato Tipila is in North America - Wyoming in the USA. It's a major religious site for several tribes
what particular british accent does the friend have lol i like it
Very limited Scouse accent
Georgia honestly got me my most fun victory, but admittedly it wasn't the easiest victory
I didn't know it was even possible, but Nick sounds even smugger than Potato.
The term for positive effects compounding, I believe you want, Feedback Loop.
Is that motherfucking Imrik McGary? The GOAT?
These videos are so informative. Thanks
for a civ 4 player, nick (knick? nicc?) took to one-unit-per-tile like a fish to water
Hey what mods do you use, can these be used with games with friends, cos it looks like the mods make it easier to see information
wasn't diplo penalty for first meet a myth? I remember boes talking about his experiment with a conclusion-no matter what unit meets other, penalty is random??
I’ve missed the civ6 stuff
I've never been this early.

You didn't put the mods you used in the description like you said you would. :(
This was funny enough of an idea to get me back to watching civ 6, powerful
