Well done. I see him as a DC as Joe Brady’s first years of HC training wheels. Would be kinda can’t miss. Has a Shanahan vibe to him. Just took out Denver like they were’t there. Not nothin. He’s on the other side of the tracks to go against Johnson in the Super Bowl. Does he have to beat them twice to be considered his equal?
Perfect fit... for a DC under Johnson. Totally agree with that point but nothing more
They don't hire Johnson as soon as he's available, they have failed !!
Make it happen for ben johnson. Apparently, he blew them away well, proove it with a deal he can't refuse.
Rivera as Defensive Coordinator would be cool
🐻⬇️
Get Ben Johnson and then you can get rendezvous for the defensive coordinator
10 yrs late is the bears motto
Pass on Ron
Why do I have this feeling that Ben Johnson has a handshake deal with Tom Brady and LV.
If Ben Johnson is smart, he'll be wary of Tom Brady, another Jerry Jones style owner, despite it only being 10% of the team!
@@JeepGuy3 Ben Johnson has a handshake deal with Poles ever since last year. BJ wanted the shot of getting a Super Bowl under his belt for a good contract and Flus still had a year on his contract.
@@joeanderson444 As opposed to George McCaskey? Hmmm.
Agree. Singletary or Frazier will probably be next.
Why would they bring him in unless Johnson recommended him as a potential DC under him? 🤔 Seems highly unlikely. The Bears are leaving no stone unturned to avoid being criticized for not being thorough. Plus, Glenn would satisfy the Rooney Rule.
Glenn was a virtual interview- to satisfy the rule it must be in-person. The Rivera visit fulfills half of the requirement. Need one more.
@@SportsTalkBears1 thanks for that clarification.
Vrabel is going to New England
I'm sorry but while the Chicago Bears are interviewing 77 head coaching candidates. .. other teams are solidifying their head coaching position and getting prepared for the draft and the 2025 season. And this is crazy because the Bears fired their head coach 2 months ago....
Poles had BJ on lock since last season but BJ wants to get that SB first so he gets the most money possible.
The Bears want Johnson but he is still in the playoffs so there are no agreements or contracts allowed.
Your also looking for OC's and DC's and other positions.
There has only been ONE hire
@@bradwilliamson8250 we’re getting McCarthy
Yes. Best choice
This is grandstanding
If Johnson likes Chico and wants him here, great. He'd join Les Frazier as the only active 85'ers still in the game. But any attempt of ownership, Warren or Poles to force a guy like Rivera on an incoming HC would show they've learned nothing as a franchise from the Eberflus/Waldron disaster.
If they did it quietly, how do u know of it??
Still wondering who really wants to come to Chicago. Don't really see anyone jumping to go there. Live there, work there. 😢
Ben Johnson interviewed went great, but do you really think the Bears will fork over 15 million per season? I bet the raiders will, so I find this hire as unlikely as the Vrabel situation was. Best outcome is McCarthy or Carroll with Rivera coming back as DC
Sign Ben ASAP. Don’t mess around with that if he is the guy.
Agreed. 🐻⬇️
Why would Aaron Glen or Ben Johnson number one leave Detroit on the cusp of a Super Bowl. Number two why would you want to stay within the division and fight the beast you created twice a year.
Because the window for them getting a head coaching job is narrow. If the stay with the Lions another year and have a horrible season no one is going to be looking at them as a potential head coach.
@ Fair point.
I think we need to have an offense minded coach. The offense has all the tools but is not hitting on all the cylinders. It's like hiring an exhaust specialist when you need a fine engine tuning mechanic. Then add too that a good offensive line coach. Say what you will, I just don't think the protection was good enough to let Caleb be comfortable in the pocket long enough.
🐻⬇️
CHICO WILL NOT BE HIRED FOR HC...AND HE WILL NOT TAKE DC POSITION.....
No, not because he’s not a good coach but he’s been here and the ownership knows him! And they know how to manipulate him!!!!
McCasky can’t keep his nose out of the team….
We need Pete Carroll, he’s done it before with a rookie QB! And the McCasky family doesn’t know him or his methods!
Woo-hoo 1st!😁. Oh gods NOOOOOOO not Riverboat Ron! You're so right mate! 10 years too late for him. 🐻⬇️
Haha thx for the first comment!
I’m fully on board w Johnson. 🐻⬇️!
@@SportsTalkBears1 me too sir, me too! 🐻⬇
They already satisfied the Rooney rule with Aaron Glen and Anthony Weaver
Unfortunately that’s not the case. The interviews must be in- person. Glenn and Weaver were virtual.
@SportsTalkBears1 gotcha I did not know that was the rule.
They have to be in person they were virtual
Pats just hired Vrabel smh
Like him as a DC that's it just bring in BEN JOHNSON
Agreed. 🐻⬇️
No-we need an offensive guy-Ben Johnson-Vrabel already signed with New England
Paaa pass pass
Please no! If your saying hire Rivera to assist this guy I don’t want him
Yes, stop being fancy and do whatever it takes to sign him. If he wants a 6-7 year contract, do it!!
Adam Hoge just declared Vrabel is the Patriot's new HC.
Gruden head coach. Rivera DC
RR as the DC would work.
🐻⬇️
Johnson as HC and Rivera as DC would be ideal.
🐻⬇️
Vrabel is no longer available......he was hired by the Pats yesterday.
Ron Rivera....nah, pass. As a possible DC but not as a HC Candidate.
Marc Tresman.....please don't remind us Bears fan......extremely failure as a Bears HC back then
****Rumors are going around.....the Raiders and Tom Brady are interested in Lion OC Ben Johnson as well.
Since you were not alive then…Ron Rivera barely stepped on the field in 1985.
Well I was 11 years old… “integral part” was generous you are correct. He came into his own more in the late 80s.
Thanks for keeping me accurate and appreciate you watching. 🐻⬇️
. Ben Johnson
🐻⬇️
Wait till wendesday mc earthy hc
No, I wouldn't like Riverboat Ron at all.....
No, go with Ben...
Ben HC Ron DC
I’m good w that - but I think this was just to get a veteran opinion while following the Rooney rule. They aren’t gonna hire him.
See what happens though! Appreciate you watching. 🐻⬇️
we want him as dc and ben as couch
Johnson hc
Boooooooooooooo Nobody wants old relics
Respect Ron but no thanks
🐻⬇️
Same shitty process
No
No Ben Johnson is my first choice and I would love Aaron Glen as DC.It's a pipe dream tho.
Media will label Bears as Lions 2.0. 😂
@chrisyongchu People going to talk anyways but winning cures things
@@kendrickbooker2986 nice “pipe dream”, might as well just trade for Dan Campbell and hire Brad Holmes too right? Who cares right? 😂
@chrisyongchu As long as Chicago starts winning why not
@ Success in one place doesn’t always translate to success elsewhere, as every environment has its own unique culture, resources, leadership, and challenges. This doesn’t just apply to football. Time will tell. Best of luck, and I hope you get the person you want to eliminate all the excuses.
BJ hc Rivera DC can aways make Rivera hc if BJ doesn't work out
