Possibly, this is the band that evokes the most genuine emotions in the 21st century, yet it is a timeless band.
They sound like this, they sound like that... They fucking sound like The War on Drugs. End of the story.
+BrilliBi Of course they do but every band has its influences. Of course they are going to get compared to some older groups. They do in fact have a nostalgic sound and it is undeniable. The reason they are awesome (well among many other things) is the fact that it doesn't come off as some kind of imitation. They make this sound fresh and new and they are so original even while channeling the sounds of their influences. That is the mark of a great band.
I love this Band...
Their sound original on its own style and great arrangements.

Well, I love this song and this band ...
Walk of life + Dancing in the dark
+alessandro cappelletti Since I first started listening to them I've been saying they conjure up images of Dire Straits, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Bob Dylan. The beautiful thing about it is they produce this nostalgic sound while still sounding so original. Its doesn't come off as imitation. They make this sound their own and make it fresh.
exactly. perfectly familiar and completely its own animal. favorite record of the last 5 years.

Young Turks (Rod Stewart) and yep now that you're pointing it out a bit of Walk of life

Reminds me to Rod Stewart - Young truck ;)
The album version especially sounds like an exact copy in the beginning. Similar to Walk of Life by Dire Straits as already stated elsewhere.
