Good first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Galaxy. They are first and foremost a live performance act, their official videos and studio albums are very good, but they just give you a taste of what they are capable of and how their songs should sound.
'Karate' was the lead single for their second album. As you saw for yourself, it is about fighting adversity, when life knocks you down and everything seems too hard so you're hurt and crying, its about standing up and fighting on, helping each other through the hard times. They used karate to illustrate this as it is a Japanese martial art and reflects their culture - as with a lot of their songs it is also about always moving forwards.
In the video the figures in white were the girls all along and they were conjuring up their own inner demons to fight against. They beat the first, the second knocked them down but they got up to eventually defeat themselves (did you notice the reflections of each of the girls in their own eyes when the masks shattered and it was revealed as them? Not many people spot that).
They did watch a lot of martial arts movies to get ideas for the choreo as they wanted it to look as authentic as possible. Moa catching the fly was a nod to Mr Miyagi in The Karate Kid. Mr Miyagi may have used chop sticks (and it may have taken him two or three films before he caught one), Moa caught her fly with her eyes closed - first time.
This song and video won 2 awards. "Best Metal Video in MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2016" and "Best Metal Song in 6th Annual Loudwire Music Awards".
I think you would approve of the lyrics and message behind their song 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' (Bullying, No More, For Ever/Absolutely). The live performance at Sonisphere 2014 in the UK was a special one - their first major event outside of Asia and faced with 50-60,000 UK metalheads who didn't know who they were when they started their set 25 minutes earlier.

Oh wow glad you found them they're one of my favorite groups to listen too. This one has one of my favorite guitar plays especially that rift. I highly recommend megitsune, give me chocolate, "Ijime, Dame, Zettai", akatsuki, from dusk till dawn, and my favorite no rain no rainbow that one is just a beautiful soft one.
Edit:also unfortunately a few years back Yui (baby face one usually on the right I believe) had left the band due to health reasons so any new songs from them you will only see Su, and Moa metal.

Going forward, if reactors want to keep reacting to the videos, I've come up with a solution that will make it possible to continue using the videos with logos that have already been tested against blocks.

It's hard to tell because it's a music video but most of that is the choreography that they do at a live show. Every song has unique choreography but they do that level of choreography for every song in their live shows. Babymetal was the best live group in the world from 2015 to 2018 and I'll die on that mountain.
I recommend 'Headbanger' live at Legend of 1997. Legend of 1997 was a concert on Dec 21st 2013 in honor of their lead singer Suzuka Nakamoto's 16th birthday. At Makuhari Messe in Chiba Japan. She was born on Dec 20 1997. You really have to see the live videos. They are much better live. I know a lot of fan bases say that but it's true this time.

"Legend 1997" refers to the lead singer's birth year, by the way, not the year of the concert.
When looking up lyrics for Babymetal, your best bet is to search for the "Du-metal" translation. Japanese Babymetal fan that teaches English for a living. He posted in depth translations of all of the songs from the first two albums with some extra commentary and cultural context. Really handy.
One thing I love about this song is how seamlessly it goes from super heavy head-banging intensity to a kind of emotional ending

Karate is a good one for the video but I will always suggest if you watch anymore the live shows are so so so so much better. Live is where the girls really shine. Also welcome to the Foxhole. I love this song, so there are a lots even I could say about it! I think the lyrics of Karate is very serious, but in the music, Yui & Moa's cute "seiya" calls make me smile But soon I'm impressed by Su-s clear vocals and Yui & Moa's beautiful chorus.
