Evilore, a well-known member of NeoGAF, was going through his emails one evening when he found a message that immediately caught his attention. It was from another member, Scorcho, who had been absent from the forums due to a terminal illness. Scorcho had been diagnosed with cancer, and his situation had taken a turn for the worse. The email was short, containing only a cryptic message and a file attachment labeled "Sonic Adventure Mod."
Despite his better judgment, Evilore's curiosity got the better of him. He downloaded the mod and booted up the game. The familiar Sonic Adventure title screen appeared, but there was something off about it-a subtle distortion in the music, a flicker in the graphics. He selected the new mod from the menu and started the game.
Sonic was in a long, dark tunnel. The usual vibrant colors and upbeat music were replaced by an oppressive silence and an eerie dimness. Evilore guided Sonic through the tunnel, the character's footsteps echoing ominously. The tunnel seemed endless, but finally, Sonic reached the end. There, on a stone pillar, was Scorcho's head, lifeless and grotesque.
The mod remained silent as Sonic approached the pillar. Evilore felt a chill run down his spine. He didn’t touch the controller, but Sonic turned around on his own. In a voice that was unmistakably Ryan Drummond's but twisted and sinister, Sonic spoke: "I took your shitty friend's life, buddy!"
Evilore's heart raced as he stared at the screen in disbelief. He could hardly breathe as Sonic continued, "He didn't have cancer... I simply lured him into my trap with ailments. It was pretty cool when he was screaming as I was pulling parts of his body off."
The screen went black. Evilore, overwhelmed with terror, felt a sharp pain in his chest. He collapsed, losing consciousness.
The next morning, Evilore woke up, his memory a blur. He couldn't recall what had happened the night before, but a sense of dread lingered. As days passed, he began to have disturbing dreams. In these nightmares, he saw various NeoGAF members being fused into Chao and used as batteries for Badniks. The horror of these dreams haunted him, the sinister voice of Sonic echoing in his mind, a grim reminder of the night he received "The Death of Scorcho."
