All 12 Disney Parks Ranked!
As of this year, we’ve been fortunate enough to visit all 12 Disney parks in the world. As someone who would consider myself more a theme park fan than a Disney fan, I can’t help but admit that when it comes to theme parks, Disney truly does it best. Now, as I’m sure you're aware if you’ve checked out any of my past videos on Disney parks, I’m not blind to the issues of the parks. There are certainly non-Disney parks out there that are better than Disney’s worst, but better than Disney’s best, I personally don’t think so. There are parks that come close, but fall short, largely due to the fact that Disney are working with a budget most can’t even come close to rivaling. With all the parks relatively fresh in my mind, I thought I’d do a video ranking them from my personal worst to my personal best. Now, this is all very opinion based and, like with anything, what I want from a theme park might not be the same as you! So, please, feel free to disagree. In fact, I’d love to see any rankings in the comments below, whether you want to rank them all or just a few! Well, without further ado, let’s get into my rankings.

Why Halloween Horror Nights Original Houses Reign Supreme
Переглядів 263День тому
Halloween Horror Nights is Universal parks’ annual Halloween event. But for many people, it is more than just something to enjoy around halloween time. The event has legions of dedicated fans, who spend all year speculating and reminiscing about the event. Much of this speculation surrounds what IPs are going to be at the next event and many fans have long wish lists of properties they’d love t...
Why Real Madrid World is a Failure!
Переглядів 15114 днів тому
Real Madrid World opened on April 9th, 2024, in just under a year since the announcement that the Bollywood Park Dubai had operated for the last time. Oddly, Real Madrid World opened to practically no fanfare and has since continued to fail to gain much attention. Having recently visited, it’s no surprise that the park has struggled to attract visitors and we believe that the park’s issues can ...
Why Are Halloween Events So Popular?
Переглядів 13421 день тому
Horror events at theme parks have surged in popularity over the past few decades. From Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights to Six Flags’ Fright Fest, these events seem to attract larger and larger crowds every year. These days, Universal even refers to Halloween Horror Nights as their thirteenth month, meaning the event itself is responsible for as much revenue as the entire resort makes...
How to Save Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is not having its best year. In fact, the popularity of Blackpool Pleasure Beach has been in decline for a while now. We covered the park's issues in detail in a video we posted earlier this year but unfortunately, since making that video, the park has continued to struggle and the negati...
The Insane Growth Of Halloween Horror Nights

At this point in time, Halloween Horror Nights has established itself as one of the most important events within the world of theme parks. These days, it has become a cultural icon in its own right. Even as someone who lives in the U.K., it isn’t that rare for me to see merchandise from the event sported by visitors to my local theme parks. Its popularity seems to grow year on year, and the sca...
Disney’s California Adventure Is Bad Again?

In 2001, Disney opened up a second park adjacent to their original Disneyland. As a long awaited expansion to the historic site where Walt Disney’s dreams became a reality, expectations for this park were high. But, a fact I’m sure will surprise no one watching, the second park at the Disneyland resort did not live up to its predecessor upon opening. The tale of how this park failed upon openin...
Why Theme Parks NEED Water!

Typically, when we discuss a well themed park, we usually focus on expensive large scale structures and intricate carefully crafted details. However, there are some more simple things that are essential to helping a good theme work. These more simple things are of course the nature designers craft into the areas. Nature, as it is something real, helps to add authenticity to what we know is real...
The Halloween Horror Nights That Never Happened (HHN 2020)

In 2020, lots of bad things happened. It wasn’t a great year in most ways. The majority of this is all far too serious to discuss within a youtube channel dedicated to theme parks. But, the less serious discussions of how this affected the theme parks, is a much better fit. So, with the event in full swing this year, I wanted to take a look at the canceled Halloween Horror Nights Orlando of 202...
D23 Parks Announcements: Is It Enough?

D23 is an exciting event for any fan of Disney. But for us theme park fans, there’s one part of the weekend that we all look forward to the most. That is, of course, the Disney Experiences Showcase. Couldn't have put it better myself. I am sure they are set to self destruct. They refuse to listen to guests, lack common sense, and are just dictators talking down to everyone. Sorry BPB (YEs BPB! THAT is what you are and should be! BLACKPOOL Pleasure beach! Call yourself what you like, that is what everyone will call you! It is an honest no brainer to bring family walk around. If anything Free entry for non riders and you are quids in as more money to be spent IN park on food, sideshows, photo ops YES even with modern mobile phones! Old folk who used to ride, will come and reminisce over days gone (like me) and bring their modern family! and it passes from generation to generation. newcomers to blackpool will then visit the park, and perhaps buy tickets to ride. Honestly why is it they cannot see the obvious in this. Opening should go into the evening as well! If they are fed up with it, I bet Merlin would snap it up, but I question if they would maintain it as is, but at least it will be kept running. COME ON FAMILY! Get your act together! WE LOVE THE PARK, future kids will, you can do this!

    Amanda Thompson killed the pleasure beach. It’s dead. 💀 Disrepair is off the charts, rust, corrosion, rotting wood on the coasters, simple staff members. It will be over soon sadly. Her dad must be turning in his grave what she’s done to that place.

    I find it still funny that Disneyland paris still holds up despite the lack of investment. DLP is an interesting case study to judge the imagineering during the Bob Iger era. In scientific experiments you have often a control group and DLP is basicly the control park. Disney under Iger has brought many changes towards its themeparks. Some good some bad. But if we have to review Bob Igers legacy one day, then we can use DLP to judge Bob Igers influence towards the parks.

      That's a great point! The lack of change to the park certainly makes it interesting to compare to those parks that saw a lot of change during the Iger years! You might just have inspired a future video! 🤣🏰 Thanks for watching and commenting!

    DCA is terrible. I used to like it more in 2012 before the terrible Marvel land, the loss of Tower and Soarin over CA, and the bad Pixar Pier. The park is now just a dumpster for whatever next IP they will stuff in it.

    im a mix of both. I love the original houses because of the stories they tell, and they add to the hhn lore which im still learning about, but I also love the IP houses because some of them I know and enjoy stepping into that world and see it in person.

    • @JustThemeParksYT
      @JustThemeParksYT 5 днів тому

      Absolutely! Although original houses usually come out on top for me, the feeling of experiencing one of my favourite horror films in a house is still a different kind of special! Thanks for watching!

  • @jordynknox6311
    @jordynknox6311 11 днів тому

    i agree that the original houses definitely are higher quality & more enjoyable than the IPs. don’t get me wrong, i LOVE my IPs, but i’ve found from my 10 years of going to the event that they’re given far more creative control over the originals, and because of this, they just absolutely stuff them full of passion, love, and as many little details as you can think of. my unmasking the horror tours, which i’ve only done last year and this year granted, just proved this point further; seeing with the lights on how much more details are in the originals and how much more grand they can be is just amazing. and this isn’t even including the immense, two-decade long universe & lore that universal creative has designed SPECIFICALLY FOR halloween horror nights

    • @JustThemeParksYT
      @JustThemeParksYT 5 днів тому

      Exactly! IP houses can be great and I do love getting to walk through some of my favourite horror films, but the originals are what make Halloween Horror Nights for me! As you said, there so much lore to learn about (which is one of my favourite things to do in those months where the event isn't on)! I think because of this, it's the original houses that have helped give the event it's incredibly dedicated fanbase! Likewise, it's in the originals that the dedication of the creatives can be seen! Thanks for watching and commenting!

    The whole ticket purchase is a joke, having to put a picture why why , then having to scan it every ride why , it's obvious that if you got a ticket to enter then its obvious you going on the rides, there's no discount for people who just want to walk in the park anymore so why have to scam every ride , it's a traditional park run in old traditional ways and they won't change stuck with old outdated ways so stubborn to change

    I was JUST talking to someone about how I'm sad that magic kingdom is changing that area because moving water and natural looking spaces add so much to the homey and familiar feelings of a theme park vs. something that feels completely man made and sometimes uncomfortable to hang out in. (would you rather sit on the ground of galaxy's edge, or take a break around the pond in hollywood studios? Would you rather hang out and take a rest with a calming view at rivers of america or stand in the middle of every big walkway behind the castle where it's mostly concrete?)

    • @JustThemeParksYT

    For themeparks it is a good thing that Halloween events are so popular. The fall/autumn season tend to be less popular than then the summer season here in europe. I mean this time of the year is often rainy and cold. A Halloween event gives themeparks a chance to attract a lot of guest before they go into the winterpause.

    Fantastic video, and I've subbed :) I used to ADORE this place. It was my favourite childhood place, I went back in my teenaged years, I went there with my mates whilst at Uni, I even tried to get there every year in my 20s... but I went there two weeks ago and I have to say, the whole place just felt off. First of all, it's a bloody fortune. £50 on the door. £18 to park. This is just insane money for a family of four. You could book an all-inclusive to Benidorm for cheaper! You make the point very well in this video - attractions have been closed, and just left to rot. Where was the sense in shutting Noah's Ark, River Caves, Wild Mouse and the Grand Prix if you're not going to replace them with anything? Maybe there were structural issues with the Grand Prix, I dunno, but it's just a massive, empty ride that could easily be drawing a crowd. It always did. With the exception of Icon, I found myself walking round feeling sad tbh, wishing for the Park of my childhood, and the rides we have lost, to come back. I know that things need to change and grow, and I'm not against it, but it seems that the Park has become almost bitter at it's previous reputation. It desperately wants to be a Merlin park, and seems to have forgotten what made it so charming in the first place. Plus, my visit was made worse by Valhalla being shut for most of the day (great investment to refurb that, clearly), and them now introducing fast pass options for rides simply not built to handle it. Queues that should have taken half the time now take far longer as a result, and it just wasn't as fun. We were there 7 hours, and got on 5 rides. No joke. I also agree about some of the commentators below in their notice of the behaviour of the CEO. Getting into twitter spats with your customers when you've clearly had a shitty day is just not good business. What's more, it shows a pretty nasty attitude in general, and an unwillingness to think you're ever in the wrong. Amanda Thompson has not been a disaster for the Park. Far from it. Some of her decisions have been very good, and probably kept the place open as it entered the modern era. Maybe it couldn't survive as it was 20 years ago, I dunno. But something is different about the Pleasure Beach now, and it does make me sad. Ah well.

    • @JustThemeParksYT
      @JustThemeParksYT 29 днів тому

      Yeah, a visit to the park today can be completely miserable! It’s sad to see all the closed attractions & the chances of the operating ones actually being open are always slim! The park needs to make some serious changes! Thanks for watching!

    We do a lot of theme parks and if BPB wants charge a premium price, it needs to be run like a premium park. - don't have staggered opening times for rides on weekends - don't require guests to scan their tickets on entry to each ride... We've paid for entry to the park - allow guests to bring in their own food such as sandwiches (although props for having a burger king on site at least... Merlin could learn here) - better integrate the hotels with the park. Why prevent hotel guests from using the hotel exit... It makes it easy for guests to leave the area and not spend more money in the hotels - have a sensible annual pass price... Making the pass more expensive than a Merlin annual pass is weird - don't insist guests can only have paid photos of characters and don't actively prevent guests taking their own photos. - provide a better family offering. Theres very little for kids below 1.2m and the ticket price for little ones is horrendous value for money. Our youngest has outgrown all the nickelodeon rides and until he is 1.2m and can go on a decent number of coasters, we won't be going back.

Loads of rides were closed, Avalanche only had one train running even though the queues were the longest for that rides and the general maintenance of the rides is very very poor. I have no idea how well it is doing, only the owners know that.... But as a guy that loves coasters Having like a 24 year gap between major new coasters meant I've had no reason to visit for a long time. They need to keep making new investments and they've just not done that. When Alton Towers got Nemesis, Oblivion and Air, I was always at that park and then after Air they didn't nothing of any worth until The Smiler and Then Wickerman.... But again with Towers we're back to waiting for a new coaster again. UK parks are so disappointing and what's even more bizarre is the last good dark rides we got were Terror Tomb and Alton Manor in the early 90s. Then they ruined them with the shooting nonsense :/ I find myself going abroad all the time now as other countries have lots of investment, meanwhile our government seems to just want to make it difficult for businesses to run.

    The maintenance is not up to standard they have had a problem with icon where they bypassed the safety system which is the block zones which is exactly the same thing that caused the smiler to crash at Alton towers because they over rode the computer system and caused it to crash, also I have seen photos of the big one with bolts missing from the restraint and it actually came up part way though the ride which is super dangerous thankfully there is a secondary seat belt but still the park is dangerous and run down and also too expensive nowadays also the ride reliability isn’t great right now to say the least also needs to bring the walk around pass back even if it was a small fee of like £5 or something because £50 on the day is really steep, also the park is having a bit of an identity crisis trying to brand themselves as a resort even tho two hotels and a couple shows is not a resort they would have to do a few more things in my opinion to be a resort like sort out some of the infrastructure like a separate entrance for hotel guests and some night time entertainment for hotels for example also they are trying to distance themselves from including Blackpool in the name even though that is where they are located the park is simply being neglected and are driving people away

But if they are struggling for cash, then the lack of maintenance will really hurt the park a lot if they ever do have a serious incident due to this in the future.

    Pleasure beach had over 50% attendance on 4 months this year, Alton Towers only went over 50% on 3 months of this year. (Even with Nemesis Reborn) Alton towers highest average queue time is 71 minutes, Blackpool is 39 minutes. There is no evidence Blackpool is struggling, that narrative only exists on the internet amongst die hard enthusiasts who like winding up Amanda Thompson. Also they wouldn't be putting in two new rides and repairing Ice Blast if they was struggling. Blackpool doesn't need saving.

      Great points! I will say this though, in the UK we are suffering from an aging fleet of older rides that use older technologies which all will need updating soon. A prime example is Alton Towers and Nemesis Reborn, it needed a modernisation, but what will happen to the rest of the coasters at the park? Spinball is nearing the end of its worthy service life but yet they still updated the control system on it. Galactica being the first of its kind is in no good state and again, will need updating. Same goes for oblivion, soon enough rita as well. Thorpe and Chessington are suffering in the same way with an aging fleet. Merlin do not add rides often enough to allow them to remove the old ones or refurbish them. Blackpool unfortunately is in the same exact position except worsened by the fact that they do not have a franchise behind them to help with the backlog of aging rides and attractions. It may not be struggling financially at the moment. But it will catch up to them

    I went to California adventure for the first time in July this year and I’ll be honest, I was very underwhelmed. The only ride i enjoyed was grizzley run! I wish it was still the California theme when it first came out!!! It was boring honestly. I didn’t even go to the marvel area. I’d rather have tower of terror and a bug land!!!

      @@carminecdinoproductions - Disney is not opening another park, anytime soon. They even said that they will never open a theme park in the central USA. As it would cannibalize the industry, and hurt regional parks. Also, as an American, the last thing I want is an American-themed Disney park. I would much prefer to see the real places. This is partially why I believe EPCOT’s attendance is falling off a cliff. Since international travel is skyrocketing, and people would much rather have authentic experiences, than pale imitations in a theme park. Disney is about escaping reality, and being transported to fantastical lands.

    Blackpool pleasure beach is stale. Nothing ever changes. Some of the coasters that are there are so violent that it hurts to ride them, think Grand National and Infusion. The Big one, although iconic, is boring. Not to mention the entry fee is ridiculous. I hate to say it, but its time to sell it over to Merlin.
