  • Fusillade Cannon Engineer gameplay in Tarroch's Tomb (NG++ Elite)
I've finally maxed out my second Engineer in Torchlight 2. This time, it's a hybrid Cannoneer/Emberquaker build. I have both Fusillade and Emberquake maxed out because both skills benefit from the passive skill 'Fire and Spark', and I would like to have the option to switch weapon types on this Engineer.

Thats so nice. I used engineer but hammer type equip which with Emberquake I feel the cast speed still slow but this cannon seems quicker than the hammer strike. probably need play from scratch again with this kind build and skill. Great video

Thanks. There are so many cool weapons in this game. Being able to wield all weapon types keeps the game fresh.

Wow, someone still plays it. 1. Have you tried -armor per hit. It works well with Fusilade. 2. Have you tried Fusilade + Seismic slam combo? 3. Have you beaten the game on HC?

      Thanks for stopping by! 😸
      1. I have in other builds. I don't remember using it with fusillade tho.
      2. I have not. But I have tried Overload + Fusillade. AoE stun is always nice.
      3. I haven't tried HC. But it's in the bucket list.

This build looks fun and really Overpowered. I've had this game in my library for a while now. After watching your video I'm very eager to try it out now. However, I'll be new to game and I was wondering if there's anything I should know before I start playing as Engineer. For example where to put stats and what abilities should I take early on.

Hi. Glad you liked it. The Engineer class is pretty straightforward to build in the early game. I suggest getting your Strength to 100 as early as possible to make the grind easier. It'll allow you to equip better weapons early on.
As for skills, get Heal Bot and Forcefield asap. These are two of the most useful skills in the Engineer's skill tree.
There is also an NPC in town that can respec/rollback the last 3 skills points you've invested. You can use it to experiment with your skill build.

General concensus of putting points into stats is ignore VIT as you will get a lot more defensive stats from equipments on later stage. Also you should know about difference between STR and Focus. STR affects the damage of "DPS" part of your skill and Focus directly adds damage to fixed one, so if your main skill says "Inflict 20% of weapon DPS" or something, you should investigate into STR, otherwise just stack Focus. Also, STR affects crit multiplier too. Dex is for better crit and dodge chance so it is decent pick too. Generally, people do full STR or Focus and put minimum amount of points into other stats.
As an engineer, Healing Bot and Forcefield is almost mandatory on every single engineer builds. Those 2 does insane performance to your defensive capability. After that, you should pick which skill will be your main attack and build around for it. Engineer is good (or actually all classes) for every kind of build. Passive melee does decent amount of continuous DPS, Emberquake can both clearing trash and burst DPS to bosses, or you can even build around for summoner class (engineer fits best for summoner build).
If you decide to be a cookie cutter cannoner engineer where you just spam Blast Cannon all time, note that a lot of builds demands you to just put one point into it and never level up. The level 1 Blast Cannon already does insane DPS but eats all your mana very quickly, and you won't able to shot more than 3 if you leveled it too high. If you planning to level Blast Cannon to level 15, you should consider bring thousands of Mana potion and/or find a way to maintain your mana.
Depends on your playstyle, but there is a mod that you can refund stat points and respec skills unless you consider it as "cheating". If you are okey with those mods, there will be no "failure build" so build whatever you want for first playthrough I'd say. There is no chance that you can build it perfectly on your first playthrough, and you need to know which skill does what.
      Have fun :)

@@cyclingcmdr Hey thanks for the answer! If i may ask one more question, do you know if Fire and Spark increases Coup de Grace damage? Or Coup de Grace damage is only increased by Strength and by points you put into it.

Why skills on Emberquake? And the melee weapon?

    • @cyclingcmdr
      @cyclingcmdr  2 роки тому +1

Hi. This is a hybrid Cannoneer-Emberquake build. It uses Emberquake when wielding melee weapons, and Fusillade when wielding cannons.
I you'd like to see what a pure Cannoneer build looks like, I recently posted that build here:
