i actually really love this series man, rare to see anybody do some quality content like this on duel links instead of master duel
"quality" might be a bit of an overstatement lol. I'll make these for as long as people enjoy watching them though, or until konami throws us under the bus, whichever comes first

@@cuchutrainHey I'll take what I can get. Duel Links is the reason I was able to get back into Yugioh after a 10+ year hiatus. I genuinely disliked all the new summoning mechanics and speed of the modern game but Duel Links allowed me to play at a pace that let me learn all the mechanics and reminded me why Yugioh's so great. I still play it to this day. HOWEVER I don't think I could ever go to Master Duel or TCG cause the power level is so rediculous, it seems to boil down to "play Tears or don't play at all" every month, watch opponent do 30 minute long combos that effectively lock you out of the game on turn 1, and Konami seemingly deliberately introducing powercreep to the game to get people to buy more cards while fan favorites go in the toilet. But Duel links is a lot more casual friendly. Really appreciate the content and insights. Even just hearing people talk about the game.
Remember, Galaxy, Eyes, Photon and Cypher can coexist together and vehicleroids have to take things from speedroids to be.... Something, not even ok.

Gotta love powercreep when an optimal endboard in 2022 was a monster negate + a backrow or two and pass, whereas in 2024 it's a monster pop, 1-2 monster negates, and a backrow or two (which can be hyper galaxy for a monster tribute).
So, I tried Duel Links briefly a few months back, and decided after grinding tons of levels for several characters it wasn't for me. But I found your channel when looking for tips during that time period. You now have someone who can barely even be called an ex-player watching everything you upload. Your videos are fantastic. Pleasant to watch and listen to, and it's nice to get these little pockets of yugioh knowledge that I didn't experience in the tcg.

To be fair to ciphers - they are the AU photon archetype, played by AU kite from arc v.
They aren't meant to be played with photon or galaxy, which is why only the generic boss monsters are used.
The cyber dragon joke killed me 😂😂😂
Funnily enough, pre nerf Cyber style was another skill that completely warped deck building. It was a cyber dragon deck that didnt play any cyber dragon monsters besides Core, because the skill gave you 3 for free lol

Hopefully this isn't annoying orz but to clarify for anyone who was curious and wasn't sure; XYZ (ex-y-zee) refers to the union archetype from early yugioh, whereas Xyz (ex-eez) refers to the summoning mechanic, including Xyz archetype spells and the line of Xyz dragons.
Apparently the Xyz mechanic's name comes from the word Exceed, influencing how it was pronounced, because their effects (normally costing an amount of overlay materials) allow them to exceed what the opponent believed their strength to be (at least in early Zexal and early Arc-V - this effect became lessened once people got used to their presence.) Possibly also influenced by how ranks seemingly double the strength of a monster with the equivalent level, therefore exceeding them in power.
TlDr; In this case, because Xyz isn't in all-caps, it would be ex-eez galaxy.

This version of Galaxy felt very similar to the toxic Cydra build that was competitive a couple years ago, somehow Zane players managed to open Core and go full combo every single time despite only playing 3 cores and 1 vanilla cyber dragon, for a grand total of 4 monsters (edit: just noticed you covered that deck too)
Xyz Galaxy was one of my favorite decks to play with I enjoyed it while it lasted

I remember building this and never got anything above Legend 3. Now I built Tachyon, I'm starting in Gold and it's already getting nerfed. Oh well I guess I still have Shiranui. If only I can figure out how to play em.

I played photon since it came to the game. It only had one play, and that was all, just summon galaxy eyes and do your best to otk your opponent, I like to see it growing as an archetype, and I wish I could make a TCG-like version of it

Dang, I remember hating this deck when it was popular. Side note - Am I the weird one for still sticking with the Galaxy Photon deck? I thought it was more fun than Xyz Galaxy.
I used the galaxy dinosaur bcuz y not & it saved me so many times

DD crow was so detrimental that youd'd play more accelelight to summon Galaxy Wizard from deck.
MST also killed them, usually. Since you can chain MST to galaxy zero to make it fizzle - and since zero is a hard once per turn, that left your only options of comboing for galaxy-eyes as:
A. Normal clouddragon & go for a mediocre combo.
B. Die if you didn't already have galaxy wizard on field before you activated zero.
Crow stopped them completely more often than not, but MST/cosmic was & is played by everything regardless, so most people had an out to draw if they were going first by default (going 2nd still needed crow to stop them).
@@jaernihiltheus7817 Galaxy zero wasn't as present as Shuffle reborn, mind you. I said that at one point, people just started summoning more from the deck (wizard+Expedition) than anything else.

Damn, I can't enjoy the joke due to how the things were release aka when galaxy-eyes photon was release, "galaxy" weren't a thing and it was just photon archetype, then much later, galaxy became an actually archetype,not just a fancy name and then 3 or 4 years later(too lazy to look for the real date) cipher became a thing and then much later, cypher blade who was an original irl promo happened

Pretty good galaxy eyes deck but I think I'll stick with my version. As building a deck allows you to better understand how it's going to work.

man galaxy eyes is my fav deck...but i really hate this skill it doesn't play anything like actual galaxy eyes...i'm glad that playstyle has gone..but it made everyone dislike the deck unfortunately and because of the skill we wont get photon lord back for a long time...fuck that skill

Dark Matter was banned due to it working terrifying with the dragon decks and nothing to with Photon Galaxy.
