Great vid my friend! I’m a former ASE tech but work in safety and security for a school system now…dad called and said his captiva was exhibiting all the classic symptoms of a cam sensor…he has a small hand held scanner I gave him a while ago and sure enough that was it. Problem is we live about three hours from each other, so I found your vid to see if it’s something I can do for him or advise him to take it to a shop…thanks to your vid I’m headed there this weekend! Thanks again buddy!
@@prestonbyrd2670 it did. It fixed the check engine light and i cleaned the throttle body while I was in there but my RPM still dances alot especially at idle. What is your captiva doing ?

This video saved me!!! Thank you SOOOO much for sharing this:)! This error stumps all the mechanics for whatever reason so I’m thankful this video was out there! SUCH a relief to finally NOT see that stinkin check engine light and see all my codes cleared! Woot woot!!! Maybe now I can finally register my car and stop getting tix from the po-po!!! . Thanks again:)! All the best to you and yours…
How do I know if done correctly?? Engine check still on🤔 but all parts/accessories replaced exactly to video; also no other code was showing before or after…
Would that make it where it would not start those sensors thinking about getting one lady said she pulled up in the yard shut it off got the next morning went to crank it up and it wouldn't start
can you tell me the symptoms of the car shes having because i maybe having the same issues and my dealership keeps fixing things that aint fixing the problem
Great video, easy exchange... My Captiva is still lurching when it idles though, but I no longer get the check engine code, any thoughts on why that would be?
Ok, this is long. Bought 2013 chevy captiva last summer. Within a month, it over heated and the ac stopped when that happened. Found out my model was made with the wrong bolts so ...spilled oil. We were doing one oil change a month, and still adding oil...drivinf on day the captiva just died, while driving. Got a tow to mels garage in watertown, wi. Paid for a re manufactured enegine. Just got the car back about a month ago ALSO, just put a brand new battery in this past November before the enegine replacement. A week ago parked and work, came out..wouldn't start...all i hear is a tik tik tik. All lights, music etc still worked. It sat for two days, tried starting it started. Drove for a week, parked. Died again. Tried bumping the starter , it wouldnt turn over just a tik.... it start another 5 days...it started and fine again...then died Please annnny suggestions???!! We were thinking wiring? We have a warranty w the re manufactured enegine. Anythinf would help. Thanks 👌
My engine light is on and the code reads my camshaft sensors. I replaced both and I replace the solenoid’s and still my light is on. I’m not too sure what else to do
So mines just started acting up last week And because I don’t have no one to do it for me, I have to take it to Chevy’s on Monday which I know I’ll be paying an arm and a leg for a 30 minutes job

Parts store calls them sensors why wouldn't you call them the same name that why dumbasses at parts store gives the wrong parts cause you call them by a different name. Dont know who's bigger

It's not a sensor it is a solenoid. Other than that, good video !
Thank you I appreciate it
Thanks mate ,you do good job
Thanks you. Just changed mine.
which one is the exhaust and intake?
They are VVT oil solinoids not sensors
Great video...thanks for making it
Can you just start engine up after fitting new sensors or is there anything else you must do before starting engine
Yes after putting the new sensors in and putting everything back you took off yes you can start the car

Boa tarde
O meu carro está com potência do motor reduzido
Pode ser isso i problema?
Thank you
My code came up as P0013 for a 2013 Captiva. You think this is the problem as it comes up camshaft position actuator

My engine light is on and the code reads my camshaft sensors. I replaced both and I replace the solenoid’s and still my light is on. I’m not too sure what else to do
Did you have the engine light reset on the car if not it will take a little for the computer to reset the light
Those are VVT solenoids not Camshaft Position Sensors.
Hi.. sir need suggestion...can I buy 2013 captiva 200k miles.? What problems can face..? Cost.?
very helpful! Thanks
Your Welcome I'm glad I could help out
Are they two different solenoids or can I buy two of the same one?
There both different
So mines just started acting up last week And because I don’t have no one to do it for me, I have to take it to Chevy’s on Monday which I know I’ll be paying an arm and a leg for a 30 minutes job
Is that the most common thing that goes wrong
I wont say the most common thing but one of them yes but its really easy to fix by yourself and not haveing to pay alot of money at a shop
@@bagged91s10 I was thinking about getting one the lady said she pull up in the yard. Went in for the day then the next day it would not crank it turned over but would not crank
Is that something common
I wouldn't say common but yes they do go
So I went and got this done at Chevy $520 later And now my car is turning off while I’m driving
Did you end up doing both sensors or just one ? Is your check engine light still on if so can you tell me the code that comes up.
@@bagged91s10 both was changed And nope no engine light. But I checked the oil and it’s very low..Like extremely low.
@@bagged91s10 I will be putting oil as soon I leave work, The mechanic at Chevy informed me it could be bearings ugh..I’m not doing that at this point
Where is the crankshaft?
Good job. Those are not sensors though, but actuators (solenoids).
Thank you for mentioning this fact because I learned the sensor is an entirely different part
