As a Chinese person I feel that Turkic peoples, Koreans, and Japanese are indeed related, cause you guys are all part of the Altaic family (or Trans-Eurasian family according to the new paper published by the Belgian linguist Martine Robbeets). Whereas Chinese, being a member of the Sino-Tibetan family, are related to Qiangic and Tibeto-Burman peoples. Though certain Northern Chinese may have some genetic relations with members of the Altaic / Trans-Eurasian family, and certain Southern Chinese may have genetic relations with Tai-Kradai, Austroasiatic, Hmong-Mien, and Austronesian speakers.
As a chinese person what do you think about uyghurs? us turks think china is racist towards uyghurs because of their turkic roots and religion muslim and that they are chinefying them but when I heard Chinese people they said they dont know much about them, they only know the crimes Uyghurs did so china is putting them camp to be a better , chinese person. As you are interested in this altaic topic I just wanted to know more about it because every mainstream media tells different
@@tomriskhatun8192 TBH what they say is true, most Chinese people from other Chinese provinces don't have that many interactions with Uyghurs from Xinjiang. I also don't have any Uyghur friends or acquaintances so I'm afraid I cannot really answer your question. Western media tells people that millions of Uyghurs have been put into concentration camps, while Chinese media tells people that those so-called camps are nothing more than vocational schools to better educate Uyghur youth and to prepare them finding a suitable job. Both sides probably have some sort of agenda, the truth most likely lies somewhere in between. And about the crimes committed by Uyghurs, those mostly occurred in the 90's and early 00's when China was still rather poor and people would do everything to make more money; it was not only limited to the Uyghurs. And lastly, I'm not really interested in the Altaic topic, I simply acknowledge that there exists a possible connection among Turkish, Mongolian, Korean, and Japanese. As someone of Southwestern Chinese descent, I'm far more interested in the languages, peoples, and cultures of Southern China and Southeast Asia than anything Altaic, Turkic, or Uyghur.
@@weifan9533 I am a mix of many races but I define myself as Turkish because its the only home I have. About the Uyghur topic, I feel like its more about the gov't rather than people. I have Chinese friends and I don't think my race is a big matter for them. I feel like media is just portraying Chinese in a bad light, there maybe some truth in what media is saying but not fully and you are also right what they are doing is actually not just for Uyghurs, there are other minorities as well. I am also interested in the language and culture part. Even though Turks are originated from Central Asia Anatolian Turks doesn't look Asian at all. For example me, my mother is Tatar but her mother was Russian so even though my grandfather looked like an Asian my mom doesn't resemble them at all. So Turks in Turkey are highly mixed and they don't even know that, they all say we are Turks from central Asia but they just don't resemble their ancestors. I say I am Turkish but I am only %10 Turkish. So a person from Turkmenistan or Uzbekistan or Kazakhstan is most likely how Turks ancestors looked like.
@@kubraben2767 Yes, western media tends to portray the Chinese in a bad light, but it's not true, most Chinese have nothing against Uyghurs and other Turkic speaking peoples. And I heard that Anatolian Turks most descend from assimilated populations and not from the original Turks.

@@weifan9533 still, thanks for the answer!!
