I really like this video but I think it's better to check for a pulse and breathing at the same time. That makes sure that if there's a pulse we can begin rescue breaths straight away.

If the patient is unresponsive and not breathing, it is unlikely they have a pulse. Compressions won't hurt the heart.

The current European guidelines do no recommend you to check for a pulse before doing CPR.

While this may have been what was taught previously, modern CPR has been updated to reflect what research has shown is actually effective in the field. It can be difficult to correctly determine if a patient has a pulse, and a patient who is in respiratory arrest will quickly enter cardiac arrest. It is safe to assume that a patient that is not breathing does not have a pulse.

Be prepared when performing CPR the patient will most likely regurgitate blocking the airway.

your meant to tip head to left to tip out any liquid, plus check if something is in the throat.

Checking for obstructions was removed from the guidance! Postural drainage is good if you are concerned about a liquid obstruction in the airway.

@@reflexmedical still good if people only see this one video in their life. If somebody is on the floor you might not know they have choked on something or even think to check still. What if their airways are blocked? That's why it's good to check. Somebody that doesn't think to clearly tries cpr while they are chocking on water still as well. Every bit helps. Specialy when it comes to a life being in danger. Takes seconds to check to pull something out and tip head draining it out. Vomit, water, salva, blood, drugs. Person doing cpr has to be safe as well. As to not get STDs etc. It might have been removed where U live But go to a different country and they would still have it. Makes no sense they would remove it. I believe you tho. But yeah every bit helps with a life being in danger. That little extra might save somebody's life.

@@scottpreston28 blind sweeps were removed from a lot of programs CPR trainings. In theory if a person is unresponsive due to an solid obstruction you have a better chance of the compressions pushing it out, as a blind sweep may push it further down. And when it comes to water, checking was never a thing. As a lifeguard if someone is unresponsive from the water both compressions and breathes have a better chance of getting water up and out.

problem is that theres no seal between practitioner and injured lips which means aire is going everywhere except patient lungs...

Can't see any injury to the lips in the video.

At that point you use it like it’s not there. It’s like a condom. 😅

The seal is created through the rescuers lips, similar to conventional mouth-to-mouth-ventilation. The shield is made of thin and flexible material so it won't allow air to escape where you are putting pressure on with your lips.

I am checking how to save a person, and EVEN THE NUMBERS are different in different countries, not to mention the clearness of instructions. Why is it so difficult? Why not a single for the whole planet? Why do I even need to dial someone? Why can't AI or something call for me? Why do I even need to call someone and not send a photo/video/coordinates/personal info of the victim? Why do I even need to learn what to do whom to call how many breast presses to do of I could have a smart watch which was not "gorgeous", but functional and lasting a month, sending coordinates to emergency services OR nearby passers with skills, starting an audio/video call automatically when there is an emergency instead of "hey you! call the 911/999/whatever the number is in your country! no, not for pizza. not for taxi! the ambulance!"
