a genuine gift to taeminnie, thank you tenfold for this!!! another Special MEGA Happy Birthday, our ace Lee Taemin 🧀♠️🌱 my passionate dancer whose elegance is as graceful as your eloquent words-- duality to the clumsy bashfully blinking maknae we cherish💎 painted in your very own color, as my shawol soul is painted in You. we wait for your return and carry your healing artistry close until then-- above all else, you are doing your best in the hardships + milestones endured!! that is what matters😭💙🎹 bogoshipda my love. forever & ALWAYS.
Exactly, it’s Taemin’s delivery on top of everything else that makes his songs such convincing, compelling productions. My absolutely favorite artist in the whole Kpop industry, a real jewel! Thanks so much for posting your reaction on his birthday. And most of all - Happy Birthday Taemin!!! ♥️
Umu being a shawol really makes everyone's lives better. so heartwarming to see this recognition of taemin's artistry and appreciate new things about the song over a year later 🤍
Taemin really decided he was going with a bang to the military. And the fact his last three comebacks were epic still amazes me. Also loving this upload was on Taemin's birthday. He really is a special one. I hope he keeps getting better and comes back so we get to listen to more of his artistry.
Taemin is always very deliberate with his phrasing in each song. One songwriter said that Taemin actually sang his song in a totally different way than he ever thought of and improved the song. Also, Taemin has said that there is nothing mechanical regarding his voice except for the second time he says, "Get it, get it, get it", while in the car. The very high falsetto is his real voice -- it WAS NATURAL. There is a behind the scenes of the recording of this song that I think would be great for them to watch as it shows Taemin actually singing parts of the song: ua-cam.com/video/oYbdK2WWYvQ/v-deo.html
While he does sing in falsetto I think the very high notes they are talking about (the higher octave doubling) was done by Kriz who sang the backing vocals on Advice. She has a cover of her doing it on youtube~
@@callmeashy Yes, I agree. They're talking about that extremely high falsetto at the last chorus where it's singing double with Taemin's own. I actually love the combination.
This song returned me to kpop. It's all about the contrasts here, both in the song and the video. It blew my mind in a way how it uses all the possible ways to deliver the message. The visuals with black and white, his outfits, the flowy to aggressive dance, major-minor and ascending-descending motions, head and chest voice, his pronunciation, tempo in rapping and singing etc etc, you literally have no chance to not get it. Taemin is not something you imagine, can't be labeled only as some one thing and restricted like this, and will go his own path. Not only him, basically any person. It sounds simpler now, as many crazy things came out since his enlistment. But it remains beautiful and meaningful, I am really grateful for this release.
Everybody is talking about how great Taemin is (and yes, he's absolutely incredible) but I wanna just say how amazing it is hearing these musicians talk about things within the song that non-musicians would NEVER notice. I love hearing people talk about things they're very knowledgeable about and I love hearing the different views on every different part of the music. Keep up the awesome work guys!
For me one of the best songs of 2021 in the whole industry, not just in kpop, the music industry itself, for me advice is a work of art, Taemin is an amazing artist, and the producers that worked on this song, amazing everyone.
So so so so so so many baby idols are idols because of Taemin. He's a true legend in the kpop and idol world He's also considered the best idol dancer, inspiring many of the current idols to follow his career path. You will not find an idol who does not idolize Taemin. he's probably the most loved idol out there.
i love this song so much it's literally my most listened to song every month for this whole year and i'm so glad you guys analyzed it and brought my attention to some cool parts that i didn't have enough knowledge to appreciate even more!
Taemin's vocal delivery is the reason why his songs feel so connecting. Every song is special in its own way. He doesn't just sing a song for the sake of singing but actually analyzes the lyrics, finds the purpose, and thinks about how he wants to convey his emotions or message of the song to his audiences. He changes a lot of elements (such as vocal delivery, tone, pitch) of the demo and adapts his voice and vocals according to the mood of the song. Music producers/directors who have worked with him have come forward many times to talk about Taemin's contribution in the making of the tracks. He is a genius when it comes to his artistry. One of the many reasons why he is my favorite solo artist of all time. Taemin deserves all the recognition for his solo work and more.
Kevin dancing to advice kinsa remind me of myself, hahaha. The dance looks easy BUT if we, common people, try to imitate will look funny. Thank you so much for sharing this in Taemin's birthday
Thanks for this video. I saw Taemin when he just started out as a kid and totally got assigned to the dancer part because his vocal wasn't strong - he just wasn't known as the singer in a group full of singers, but years later when I came across him again with this song I almost got tears in my eyes. He has become a full fledged artist and this song remains my most fav kpop song/performance/concept/visual production of all time. The growth is tremendous and glorious! I'm not even his fan, just a person who was introduced to kpop a long ah time ago.
Love the end part ! Yes, Taemin is such a perfectionist and he puts all his experience in his work : in the recording of his songs, in the aesthetic of his mvs, in his choreos even in his styling. Truly, an artist.
He is a legend . he has beenaroundfor years now.(btw - he chose to start at this young age. He loved dancing). He always does "his thing", and combining styles and new stuff into his songs snd performances, he chooses songs that are uniqe. He taught himself how to dance, and when he started as a memeber of boy group SHINEE - he was the best dancer there even though that he was the youngest. he has a very uniqe way of dancing and most of the chiography is his own made movements . He didn't like that everyone thought he is a pretty boy without singing abilities... now he is a great singer that gets to sing hard parts in songs (when he is performing with group, like SHINEE or SUPERM)
Advice totalmente fue una de las mejores canciones del 2021!! Que gran cancion, más el mensaje en sí. Feliz Cumpleaños Taemin y por tu 8vo aniversario como solista - King of KPOP.
Thank you for this. The song is genius, through and through. Taemin said in an interview that he had a lot of input with the lyrics. There were things he wanted to say, and this song was his vehicle.
Loved hearing them praise Taemin. Especially when they were talking about how Taemin's experience and expertise were what made the song. It's one of my favorite things about SHINee is how well they understand themselves as artists, and are willing to do things that others might not because of their confidence in their abilities.
This song got me into kpop. Taemin is an amazing artist. He’s been in this game for so long, a true veteran. I miss him everyday, but I’m glad we have his music to listen to while we wait for his return. 💖
Listening to people who know about music talk about Taemin is really amazing and refreshing. Thank you for teaching us more about this beautiful song.💕
Yet another masterpiece from Taemin! I love this song so much💕I obviously don’t have as much knowledge about music as you guys but the piano at the beginning and in the bridge was 🔥 I hope he successfully completes his enlistment in no time and comes back healthy🥹💜
taemin, the whole song, video, and dance production was just another level - taemin will always be his own genre, and so crazy that it's been 8 YEARS ALREADY??! the countermelodies, harmonies, and the insane higher octaves got me so curious, so had to find out who it was. discovered kriz is actually a small artist but she deserves sm!
Taemin is one of my favorite artists out there. I love his music and I always "feel" his music - but I could never explain why I like it so much. That's why I love you guys - because you can actually explain it and I am always like "YES EXACTLY!". Thank you for respecting Taemin and all the other artists you are reacting to so much 😊
I nearly lost hope that this masterpiece could get a reaction from you guys as it’s already one year since it was released but here we are 🥹 Thank you thank you thank you!! Being a Kpop fan for 13 years, Advice is honestly my all-time favorite song. I’ve listened to it over couple hundreds time not for blind streaming but because I literally cannot skip it whenever the piano intro emerges!! ✨
how to tell you're a shawol without telling you are a shawol. umu, what a great day right?! missing this baby so much, i can't believe i have watched this guy together with his members grow into great guys. so proud of you taeminie!
i have to say, the smoothness... oh so nicely done. also the visualisation through MV and the choreo, really on point. this makes me an instant fan of Taemin, farely late... I like the concept, you wont get under my skin... it tells a lot about himself, but at the same time creates a sort of legacy or feeling of responsibility towards younger artists. really inspiring. He's got a perfect technique, i am very impressed. If i add Shinees storyline to it, it becomes sort of legendary... by the end of the video i was kind of happilly clapping. Thanks for sharing and giving your insights to this jewel. ... and.. couple of days later, after listening to it many times (hooked really), i see in the video, not only the blue and red but also actually the black and white, represented in the choreo by separated women/men units. this creates a strong duality and the feeling of being trapped between those. also the surrounding a sort of paper shreding place and the small room which doesnt fit him anymore, it all adds to the same feeling of constraints. then the accident and the transformation through the piano, from one self to the other... which resolves by coming out with his own mixed identity at the end, expressed with his body painted like this... the idea behind this is brilliant.
The way Taemin's music contents are released on his bday is wow.. 🤯 this is just a year later after this bop was released.. his artistry is on another level.. one of Kpop's best dancers/soloists out there.. Happy birthday Taemin 🎂🎊 hope you come back safe and healthy..
When I heard the first few notes of the piano melody when this song first came out, my first thought was “ReacttotheK is gonna love dissecting this.” So great to see the rest of the group’s thoughts about the song! P.S. Happy Taemin Day! (Even though every day is Taemin Day!) 🧀
Yes Jory, I mean, thank you for your words. I love RttK but they talk about an artist and their contribution to the song not very often. It’s always about music and producing which is totally fine. But in case of Taemin… He deserves to be praised for his artistry and experience he puts in every song. He does know exactly what he wants and what we need and how it’s gonna sound. That’s his talent and unique ear for music. And ofc thanks to SM producers he couldn’t get very far without. Taemin and Taeyeon are the only solo artists from whom I love every single release. Including Advice. Especially Advice. Thank you RttK and happy birthday Taemin, miss you so much.
Same, I really liked how Jory and Will praised Taemin for his experience and his delivery. I honestly think that this song wouldn’t be as good if not for what Taemin did with his vocals. (Not to dismiss the writers and producers hard work, of course!)
Thank you all for this video! I really enjoyed this music analysis of "Advice" because it brought up so many details and layers that I wouldn't be able to understand myself. It makes me appreciate this wonderful song even more, and it was already one of my favourites.
Taemin time! He has such a deliberate aesthetic to his title tracks and choreography. Even with some of his songs that I'm not in love with, I can appreciate all the creative choices. They very much seem tailored to his specific showmanship and abilities. Like Stephanie, I really liked the rhythmic articulation throughout the song. Woo, Last Waltz is next. I always love their reactions and their comments on musicality and artistry. I enjoy learning things from you guys. Thank you for reacting to this song. This is a masterpiece.
I've been patiently waiting for this reaction!!! Thank you for all the beautiful commentary about Taemin's artistry! I really feel like NGDA was his best work so far because of the amount of self he put into all aspects of the project 💎💎💎💎💎
One thing about this song is how expansive and deep and dark and hollow(?) the layering of the instrumentals feel. You really start to feel it when the beat and bass drops in the second half of the first verse, and the pianos chord progression is replaced by this hollow synth(?) that almost resemble choral voices. It gives u an emptiness and fullness at the same time, like a dark mysterious abyss, idk it's so cool I love it ahah
bro I have never been here this early but i love you all and your videos and I've always been super interested in music and theory and how it works so your videos are always so interesting to me.
Cool! This is the only song that made me appreciate what Taemin brings to the table. He’s mostly talked about how well he dances. I don’t like falsettos as much other than GDragons, but Taemin delivers. He’s also great in SuperM! I do enjoy the Advice album as well.
YESSS I'M ALWAYS DOWN FOR SOME TAEM!!! Okay but- I was just thinking about ReacttotheK because a new soloist named Adora (who used to be a producer/composer for BTS and TXT) recently released a song called 'Trouble? Travel!' And it's got some vibes I feel you'd all thoroughly enjoy! (Though I don't really like comparing artists, its feel reminds me a little of dlwlrma by IU for reference!) Adora is stupidly talented and always has a big big hand in her music's composition. She's one of those artists I feel just pour themselves into their craft and I've yet to see many people appreciate her so I thought I'd take a chance here :'D
YESSS FINALLY LAST WALTZZ!! i literally wanted to recommend this song but it's like u guys can read my mind. I also love how this video is like a gift to Taemin!! I'm sure he will definitely appreciate this
HAPPY BIRTHDAY + 8TH SOLO DEBUT ANNIVERSARY TO TAEMIN!!!! Ngl I cried editing this video, especially the segment at the end 🥲❤️ his hard work, experience and absolute mastery of his vocals is evident even to people who haven't heard of SHINee before!!!

what a coincidence SMP Floor YT channel owned by SM Ent. just posted Taemin Advice Dance Practice then you posted this 🔥
maybe i should say What a Timing... 😄
same! 😂 as in, I just finished watching the dance practice and right after, I jumped into this reaction
Ikr!
Yeah. . I just watched in SMP 😅
Finally! Thank you for the info.

Charlotte : did that piano at the beginning remind you of Für Elise?
Henry : a little…I mean just cause it’s piano?
😂😂😂😂😂
This song is showing all the aspects of teamin's talents and arts. It's like one of those songs than never dies

The "BACCCCHHHHHHHRRrrrr" at the end steals the show 🤣
I still remember him being insecure about his vocals and seeing his progress, I'm really thankful that he worked so hard
Kevin dancing to advice kinsa remind me of myself, hahaha. The dance looks easy BUT if we, common people, try to imitate will look funny.
Thank you so much for sharing this in Taemin's birthday
He is always does MVs and songs and performances that are really visually satisfying. He is an artist!
It's 2022 now and for the future years, I love these legend. I love Tae-min Forever!!! LEGEND!!!
YES IM SO HAPPY Taemin is one of my fave artists so excited !! Legit love this song so much thankyou as always for your hard work

this is what i've been waiting for, this song is really something!! thank you for the detailed reaction, or should i say detailed analysis!!!
i love how every time i watch your videos i understand 20% of it, but i still won’t miss a single one of your reactions
also happy birthday taemin!!
i have to say, the smoothness... oh so nicely done. also the visualisation through MV and the choreo, really on point. this makes me an instant fan of Taemin, farely late...
Thanks for sharing and giving your insights to this jewel.
...
and.. couple of days later, after listening to it many times (hooked really), i see in the video, not only the blue and red but also actually the black and white, represented in the choreo by separated women/men units. this creates a strong duality and the feeling of being trapped between those. also the surrounding a sort of paper shreding place and the small room which doesnt fit him anymore, it all adds to the same feeling of constraints. then the accident and the transformation through the piano, from one self to the other... which resolves by coming out with his own mixed identity at the end, expressed with his body painted like this... the idea behind this is brilliant.

its a bit of the recording he did for advice here... for our vocalists sam and raffi

My favorite Twice song of all time and one I think really has a lot to offer to well trained ears.
Dont know what are they saying about musicality but since it is Taemins song.. I am staying..
WOAHHH you dropped this reaction when sm just released its dance practice!! thanks for the vid!

Cool! This is the only song that made me appreciate what Taemin brings to the table. He’s mostly talked about how well he dances. I don’t like falsettos as much other than GDragons, but Taemin delivers. He’s also great in SuperM! I do enjoy the Advice album as well.
Thank you so much!!!
Even after over a year I still have Advice on repeat. It hits every single time.
Did you wait for Taemin's birthday to release this reaction

when u said “i just wanna go back to 1:27 ish” a part of my brain vibrates
I somehow wish this reaches Taemin's eyes and ears...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAEMIN, you will always be legend.

There's something about this song that whenever it comes on shuffle, I gotta blast it and let it consume me

Thank you so much for posting this!!! Taeminnie will be really happy! He worked hard to give the best music for us!!!
Yeah that's the final boss of Kpop with a fitting theme
i love this reaction
that professionals praise the magnificent artist that is our taemin❤
I'm so happy TT this is my fav taemin song of all time💗💗
thank you so much for the reaction! tbh, advice is not one of my tt favorites of taemin but i really liked how it showed his musicality.
I really like this reaction ❤
