I could not get past this stupid error where I was unable to press "any key" too and with your tip of simply holding a key down during startup, I was able to get in!

That 'any key' thing is so frustrating until you figure it out because it just doesn't make sense.
For some reason when I do the enhanced session, it just stays at the splash visual for the login screen, but no login avaliable. Works if I do the simple session but no sound. I did use pro though
Edit: Solution
On the menu of the Hyper-V's Virtual Machine Connection window select View and deselect Enhanced Mode Session. This will bring the password sign-in box back.
Log in as usual.
On Windows Settings \ Accounts \ Sign-in option, turn off Require Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts.

I had a problem with my mouse input. Couldn't fix it. When in the installation process I couldn't use my mouse, nor keyboard to select next (even on the first part - with the languages). I tried some fixes, like Enhancement or something and some other ones, but couldn't really figure it out with or without watching tutorials on fixing it.
I am happy that it works for most people though, cheers everyone.

I want to start by saying I've used hyper v a lot. A lot. I've been able to make Win10 vms and be able to activate them (with massgrave, in the event I want to activate) but I _always_ ran into troubles with Windows 11, until I found this video. Guys I *strongly* recommend you view this step by step even if you are already aware of how a lot of hyper v works. For me, I had *tons* of issues with the ISO that I would make with the windows media creation tool but once I downloaded _the very one The Artmann indicated_ I had no problems. VM works fine.
That said, I hope The Artmann takes the time to upload the GPU passthrough files somewhere that is not telegram. The site they were once on is now down, so they are on telegram however a user requires an account. That's where I'm going to stop but monitor and hope another solution may be provided.

hi. I'm not sure I understand. You don't have a GPU, but you want one in VM?
During the Win11 setup 4:47, it prompts "How would you like to set up this device?" (which it didn't show on your procedure), and I either choose "Set up for personal use" or "Set up for work or school". I assume I choose "Set up for personal use" (this will be a reference image), but after choosing that and clicking 'Next', it takes me to "Unlock your Microsoft Experience" screen, and it prompts me to Sign In. Since this is a reference image, if I put my sign-in credentials, will that be an issue? OR should I delete the VM I created and start over?
I am not familiar with this. If I didn't show it in the video, it means I didn't encounter this issue. Maybe this is a new feature that I don't know of. Try searching on Google.

Dude thank you so much!! I was following the microsoft guide trough powershell and at some point I encountered an error so I searched for a vid and this guided me trough the entire thing. But one thing I followed every step and at the end I had no sound but ethernet connection..?

Thank you really for this it's really helpful, I just wanted to check with you I have downloaded Geforce and I couldnt't update the GPU. Can I update the GPU or not in the Hyper-V? Or the Driver/Update will be as my main PC?
the gpu is not shared with the virtual machine. There's is one solution which works only with hyper-v. check ouzt my playlist for the video: "Use ANY GPU in a Virtual Machine / GPU Sharing with Virtual Machine!"

For just testing Windows 11 would you suggest Hyper V or VMWare Player ? I just want to test if my hardware will work with Windows 11, will this be suitable for that ? My Raid card is from 2011 and doesn't have 11 drivers but works fine in 10, so just wanted to make sure before I upgrade. Thanks.
So, you want to test if your hardware is compatible with Windows 11 using a VIRTUAL MACHINE? That's no way to conduct the test. Firstly, running a virtual machine consumes resources from your host system, which means your available resources will be divided, impacting performance as a whole. Additionally, if your computer has low specs, it may not even be able to run the virtual machine smoothly. Therefore, I fail to understand the logic behind testing Windows 11 compatibility with your hardware using a virtual machine. How would that even work?
@@TheArtmannI must be confused then, I thought running a virtual machine would easily tell me when the virtual OS loaded if my hardware would work ? I don't care about how slow it is or performance, it would be a 5 minute test to see if my RAID works when Windows 11 loads after I have installed the drivers for it. Are you saying you can't test your hardware in virtual machines ? I don't want to install Windows 11 normally and then find my RAID card doesn't work with it, hence the idea of testing first with a virtual machine.
this is getting a big headache for meeeee, i can't get it working with the sound. no matter what I do it just doesn't enable the sound of the system in the hyper v machine. idk what else to do. :(
I'm not getting the connect without internet option during installation at the No Internet screen. I only get the Having trouble getting connected message. Any thoughts?
I guess you try to install Windows 11 Home. You need to select Windows 11 Pro

On VM? Usually this thing happens only when you try installing Home Edition. With Pro it works
@@TheArtmann same problem I have.. it seems they did block it. This is necessary:
Use the “Shift + F10” keyboard shortcut on the network step.
In Command Prompt, type the OOBE\BYPASSNRO command to bypass network requirements on Windows 11 and press Enter.
Make sure you choose the 4 virtual processors! Not just the TPM. Windows 11 Pro worked fine on Windows 2019 Hyper-V.

@4:36 you can get to Enhanced mode easily: From the Hyper-V window, click VIEW and choose "Enhance Session" -- From there you can enable sound.
It doesn't always work. What you said is correct and works most of the time, but there are cases when the 'Enhance Session' option is greyed out and cannot be enabled.
I have exactly that and I didn't budge from any of the details in your video. Yet that option is always grayed out. I checked and unchecked the options in Hyper-V settings no matter what I do it is always grayed out. I need this to be able to connect USB hard drive.... Any solution? @@TheArtmann
When I start the newly created windows it asks me to choose my resolution but I cannot see anything else, no taksbar just a plain blue screen and the bottom right 3 buttons: language, accesability and the shutdown restart button and nothing else.

@@TheArtmann thank you, I found my Issue, it seems that everytime I created a new VM it started as an enchaned session while changing to the basic one the windows login appeared and I could use it otherwise it would not come up to login.

I’ve been trying to follow your steps but it starts becoming different as soon as I “connect” >”Start” > then choosing Windows 11 Pro. I have Internet from the beginning, but the enhanced session option for the audio does not pop up and audio is grayed out, telling me to buy a product key.

if you google "windows 11 hyper-v audio grayed out" you'll find a lot of links on this topic. Some of them are actually good advices. Try them and see which one works
If i conect my windows on start i can login😞
Everything works up until after I change the audio and resolution (I don't change the resolution though). Once I click connect it loads back into windows but doesn't allow me to enter a pin or anything. It's just a blue screen and never changes. I've restarted and everything and it is still happening. Any ideas what could be causing this?
How much resources you allow for the virtual machine? And what specs your pc has in general

Helpful video, but i got stuck on the instal login page, where Microsoft want me to log-in to Microsoft account, that I did not wanted to do, and I had no other option how to bypass that, could not instal virtual OS without it

can you install a Windows 11 VM on a Windows 10 Hyper-Visor? Or does it need to be windows 11. Like Windows 11 can VM a 11 and lower, but 10 cannot VM a 11 and up?
You can install any OS in a virtual machine as long as your device is powerful enough to handle them both, because even on a VM, Windows 11 still needs the minimum requirements to operate.
@@TheArtmann I'm trying to install Windows 11 on a Windows 10 Pro Hyper-V and it "doesn't meet the minimums" Granted in the WIndows 10 machine it constantly tells me "This machine is ready for Windows 11 Upgrade!"

not working i guess, idk why but i can visualize finally my gpu in the VM but it does not get used by the system, and if i use gpuz it shows no GPU in it. Using windows 10 on vm and windows 11 on host
Edit: installing some high gpu usage programs like Nox emulator , the whole pc got stuck permanently

I mean after completing the process you explained in the video, I can see the host computer gpu (gtx 1060) in my VM computer but apparently the vm system does not use that gpu, it only appears graphically but is not used@@TheArtmann

After I installed win 11, the vm restarts and I get a red bar a the top with a unlock symbol. Is this normal ?

You have a 13years old cpu with a 13 years old graphics. I guess they are not powerful enough to run two windows 11 at the same time

yes, windows 10 host. but we both know that 10 used way less resoucers then win 11.
