pipa concerto "ghost opera" composed by Tan Dun 琵琶協奏曲, soloist Liu Fang

Liu Fang performed with Manitoba Chamber Orchestra the celebrated Tan Dun's (譚盾) composition for pipa and string orchestra (琵琶與樂隊), conducted by Scott Yoo. This is the 20 minutes version of original "Guost Opera:(鬼戲) for pipa and string quartet. The current recording was produced by CBC Radio on January 31, 2006. The total concerto (琵琶協奏曲) is about 20 minutes. This music video shows only a small section of 58 seconds (for copyright reason). It is. Sometime in the piece, the pipa soloist will kind of like chant "xiao bai cai" (little white cabbage).
