Oops I responded before I listened to the whole thing 😂 I can’t stand the lip oils that are glosses. The summer Fridays is hydrating & it’s the tits honestly
I made myself a spreadsheet of a couple products per category and how much they cost and how many I'd go through in a year. This allowed me to plan and budget and not buy too much frivolous items. You can also add date of purchase and expiry date.
I recommend you try a purple blush if you want a cool-toned pink look without the ashiness. Color theory with brown/tan skin will make the blush a cool-toned pink.
I definitely agree with her on the lip oil scenario! Lip gloss is just so much better for hydration rather than a way to creamy almost sticky lip oil. The way that summer Fridays is way to over rated yet works almost worst than any drugstore lip product….! Love the new post!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻
I’d disagree, I find glosses super sticky and oils more hydrating! I think a quick scan of the ingredients is the tell tale. I’m always looking for jojoba oil in an ingredient list and Vit E
@@GLAMGENX that is a good claim! When looking for a lip product I often just see actual honest peoples reviews (like Elle chu) and then buy the product. I’ll look out for those ingredients next time purchasing a lippie! Thanks!
I agree. Lip glosses are absolutely hydrating while lip oils dry the lips especially rare beauty ones. They aren’t even lip oils. They are ph lip stains that turn pink. The FAE beauty lip glosses actually have texture of lip oils but hydrate so so so well. Kiro lip laquers are good too. I was so confused for so long about liking glosses over oils. Glad to know I was right.
I always hated lip glosses because they are so sticky. I bought some cheap Korean lip oil set from Marshalls and I use it all the time. Other times, I just use my Nivea cherry lip balm.
my jaw dropped when u mentioned the Patrick Ta blush but i totally understand not loving the shade! there are so many and its hard to know what exactly the blush will look like on our face with our individual skin tones
I’ve been taking advantage of travel size products when trying something new. The value is usually terrible but it saves me in the long run. I wish more brands did this.
Whoa! Thank you for saving me from buying that Laura Mercier foundation! I was intrigued by Dior’s lilac blush but then I had to remember that it’s too cool it would end up looking ashy on same with Patrick Ta
I’m happy you like the concealer! I’m guessing the shade is meant to be lighter for your undereyes. But it doesn’t work on mine, so it feels like a waste. 🙃

Thanks for talking about the PT blush duo. I've been wanting a bright pink blush and eyeing the cool pink but that one is definitely not for me.
I like to spray the flawless filter BEFORE powder, after I apply cream/liquid makeup. I let it dry and pat it out with the sponge. Then I add powder for the blurring effect! I hope this works for you too. ♥️
The rare beauty concealer is really my fave! Medium coverage and hydrating, just so perfect. I pair it with the huda powder and my undereyes are so flawless !

Hourglass powder… totally agree. SO not worth the price. It’s just like a “meh” product. But the Laura Mercier foundation is BOMB! As is the One Size Spray!!
Had to come back to say I LOVE the Hue drops on my medium skin tone BUT I love them because I go tanning…. So when I miss a week of tanning, these help to boost my complexion as my face tan is always first to fade. Another viral product not worth it at all (to me) is the new ABH mascara (lash & sculpt something…) …. My Benefit Bad Gal Bang or the Thrive mascara is 10x better. The ABH one gives good length, but no volume. An AMAZING mascara I recently discovered (and I am NOT usually a drug store mascara girl) is the Milani one in the turquoise tube with the gold cap and gold stars (can’t remember the name). If you see this is drug store I HIGHLY recommend!!!
I don’t think I would like that Patrick Ta lipgloss one me either, I don’t like that opaque pastel colors on my unless they are very sheer which i prefer!
I find the packaging of the summer Fridays lip oil SO BAD!! It was in my makeup bag for max an hour laying down and it leaked all in the lid... wasting so much product and making it basically unusable, which is sad because I actually loved it :(
To me hourglass as a brand is not worth it, they are so overpriced and everything you can get a cheaper alternative, even within other high end brands. I think the cool tone pink tones are hard to find something that suits. I have a light medium skin tone similar to you and the too faced candy clouds one worked well for me, it is matte as well. Maybe that might work better for you. Another is the Pat mc grath blush in cherish, its a lovely matte pink
I don't know if you have tried it yet, but if you want a flattering pink blush, you can try a purple blush. It comes out pink and compliments brown skin and warmer undertones😂
That's true, I've tried the morphe one and it's pretty good, but I've been looking to try the fenti one too, do you know if it's good or not? It's hard to find a good one but once you do it's worth it because it's pretty much the only "pink blush" I find flattering
@@catherinek1180 A lot of purple blushes are cream which I don’t love. The grace liquid blush from rare beauty is the closest I’ve found. I’m also interested in the purple NYX buttermelt blush, but haven’t tried it yet.
Ohhh I have the purple nyx buttermelt one! It's great and I find it really compliments my skin. Only go with a light hand because they are very pigmented, I recommend dusting the excess off before applying
We probably have the same undertone: neutral. Anything with a white base (no blue or green) will look ashy on us. 😅 Yeah I have never found a perfect match in Fenty beauty.
@@ellerchu yeah girl; I am olive fall-spring & peach spring summer…FB colors are too yellow, white, or orange for me. But I love her bronzers, lip products etc
lip oil was just made to scam everyone during the clean girl aesthetic moment. clean makeup isn’t real a lot of the time, but brands that don’t have a clean mindset will take those concepts and more people are going to buy it rather than just that clean audience. i just think it’s eh. the nyx ones are good, but it’s a different texture gloss that’s it. it’s not groundbreaking tbh.
The only lip oil I tried and liked was the nyx one and it’s more of a gloss than anything else i hated anything else the giuso (you get me) is literally just canola oil in fancy glass bottle that’s weirdly overpriced, I can’t see myself buying a makeup product that’s over 30$ that’s my limit I won’t go higher even if I can buy it but no I know myself I will regret it an hour later.
I honestly wish brands would stop coming out with lip oils and balms🫠😅 Having a few options was great at first, but now there are just way too many and I'm over it.
i was literally about to buy the urban decay foundation, from all the other reviews i've seen they said it was full coverage so i thought it would be good for my acne-prone skin 🥲
I think in person it gave me enough coverage, but when I film or take photos its not enough (I can still see my hyperpigmentation). I prefer the It Cosmetics Matte CC cream, but do whatever will work for you best! ♥️
An idea to help see what works or not is you could perhaps watch reviews of other content creators but find creators that have similar skin tones or similar skin textures? I think that way you’re getting a review from someone who might have the same preferences, I hope this helps because I genuinely feel your pain when you buy a product and it doesn’t work, that stuff is expensive 😭🥹
I do all of the above. But sometimes that doesn’t help either bc people have different preferences and it looks different online and different lighting. Even swatching in store doesn’t always work. That’s why I stress trying to listen to my own intuition and preferences more. 😭
SHES LITERALLY THE BEST AND SO PRETTY AND HONEST ABOUT THE PRODUCTS !
Appreciate you ♥️
I’m glad you don’t like lip oils… I thought I was crazy for not liking them!!

I don’t really like glowy cream blushes, so I won’t be reviewing them. 😅
I LOVE U AND YE MAKEUP IS SOOI PRETTY
Thank you 🫶
Thank you for this content
❤️❤️❤️
Girl, I wanna see if you actually was able to cut through that Sapphire chase card 😂
I don’t think so, it’s freakin metal. They know what they’re doing 🤣
We probably have the same undertone: neutral. Anything with a white base (no blue or green) will look ashy on us. 😅
Yeah I have never found a perfect match in Fenty beauty.
Omg yes, I have a neutral warmish undertone. I’m glad it’s not just me!
@@ellerchu yeah girl; I am olive fall-spring & peach spring summer…FB colors are too yellow, white, or orange for me. But I love her bronzers, lip products etc
Like if you love Ellie ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
lip oil was just made to scam everyone during the clean girl aesthetic moment. clean makeup isn’t real a lot of the time, but brands that don’t have a clean mindset will take those concepts and more people are going to buy it rather than just that clean audience. i just think it’s eh. the nyx ones are good, but it’s a different texture gloss that’s it. it’s not groundbreaking tbh.
Interesting take 👀
The only lip oil I tried and liked was the nyx one and it’s more of a gloss than anything else i hated anything else the giuso (you get me) is literally just canola oil in fancy glass bottle that’s weirdly overpriced, I can’t see myself buying a makeup product that’s over 30$ that’s my limit I won’t go higher even if I can buy it but no I know myself I will regret it an hour later.
I got the new Gisou lip oils and I actually like them 😆 but I understand you!
Thx for scoop on hourglass b/c influencers are pushing that hard!!!
Happy to help ☺️
U are definitely gonna get big one day (not that 10k isn’t big 😂
Thank you for the support ☺️
THANKYOUUU!
Much love ♥️
50$ for a BASIC POWDER?!?!?! that’s more than the haus labs foundation and that has skincare in it!
Yeah 🫣
Under 2 hrs❤
🙌
Idc how nice a blush is I'm not paying $40 for it
I don’t blame you
Girl you’re applying Patrick ta wrong. He said the powder should be applied first then put the cream ontop . Might work better for you this way :)
The video actually shows me applying it this way. Its the color that is the problem as I've already mentioned in the video. 🫶
Why is she holding the blush brush the whole video 😅
If you know, you know 😉
lip oils don't do anything for anyone, they're such a dumb trend.
I’m also not a fan of lip oils. But we don’t need to call things that other people may enjoy dumb. 💛
First comment! 📌
🥇
Girl why are you talking into a makeup brush? 💀
If you know, you know
I think it’s a cute and unique touch to the video
It’s a microphone lol
I honestly wish brands would stop coming out with lip oils and balms🫠😅 Having a few options was great at first, but now there are just way too many and I'm over it.
They won’t stop until there’s a new trend unfortunately 🫣
i was literally about to buy the urban decay foundation, from all the other reviews i've seen they said it was full coverage so i thought it would be good for my acne-prone skin 🥲
