hearing people not buy the Patrick Ta foundation because it's too expensive makes me so happy no hate to him but these prices are crazy!!! put an end to it
1) It makes me so happy to see more mindful consumption content. I’m a shopper until I die but I think we all deserve to be buying what’s worth it. 2) Your voice is so relaxing! Perfect voice for long form content
I’m a sucker for foundation releases, but the Sephora Reveal the Real skin tint is $22, and my new fave. It has some coverage, light, and I am almost out of the bottle I bought. I don’t need the Patrick Ta foundation when I already found one that is much cheaper that I have fallen in love with.
Currently have less than 2000 dollars in my bank account so 60 dollars for a foundation is such a pass, I know Patrick ta is more high end but I feel like that’s insane
The fact that Rhode improved their blushes AND called the woman who called them out, actually makes me like hailey bieber a bit. She is having her entrepreneur era and DOING POSITIVE OUTREACH, yay!? and not simply Justin's wife anymore. I just appreciate more nowadays when a brand really tries to earn customers instead of taking people for granted by just shoving PR at influencers.
When Natasha Denona came out with “I need a nude” I said I wanted a warm version of it. Not too warm but just warm enough. Then she has the audacity to actually do that to me so like… here I am with the pallet. Using it and loving it and this is my first pallet from her. Probably my only pallet from her as well.
I have the Rhode blush and love it so much it’s very long lasting it looks super skin like I have combo skin and it doesn’t look greasy at all. The packaging isn’t as bulky as videos make it look so I think it would be a good purchase!!
Yesss! I got it yesterday for my bday and was worried it would be too greasy on my large pores, but its so natural. And I didn't believe it was as blendable as influencers were saying but... damn it is 😂
Truth be told- I don’t give a damn about shade ranges from a brand that lack any. What they don’t have, another will so I just give my money to whoever does it right the first time.
The huda beauty shade range disappoints me. They cut about ten shades from the original line, the Faux Filter foundation. Unfortunately they cut out my shade, along with other tan cool /neutral tones. So I am “voting” with my dollar per se. There are so many options on the market and I will gladly give those brands my dollar because they provide inclusivity for all tones and skin depths.
STOP i was chilling watching your video. I saw the kosas powder and popped out of my bed ! I looveeeee the kosas powder !! i’ve hit pan TWICE. I totally forgot about it i saw the pan in my makeup drawer and was like i totally forgot and fell in love again and bought it. anyways im so excited for this launch !!!! I’m def getting the pink
I think there's a shift happening towards more matte makeup... at least I hope there is! I'm oily like you. If you haven't tried the Oil Sucker primer from O/S, it's amazing!
@@ellerchu It does! I work long shifts and boy, it helps everything stay matte. I pair it with the LM setting powder, About Face foundation, and either Milani or UD setting spray!
I was NOT able to talk myself out of "I Need a Warm" 😑buuuut I don't regret it because this is my only/ first Natasha Denona palette and I got rid of some of my older palettes to make room for it. Love these videos, Elle!
This video was so good! I love your videos so so much! Please make one for the holiday sets! One product that’s been on my wishlist for so long is the tower 28 concealer. I have sensitive skin and by everyone says it’s super good.
I remember wondering about that brush mic ages ago and always wondered if it was a real mic that just looked like a brush, thanks for finally revealing the truth behind it! Out of these, the ND palette and the Glow recipe serum are what i am interested, as those two are some of my all time favourite sephora brands. The mac concealer has hardly any coverage, I tried it in store and it was like a very natural level similar to Saie. I used to love the Kosas powder back when it was viral in 2020 but not repurchased since, so might get that pink shade. The Mario and tower 28 powders also look interesting but a pain to get in the UK :(
I am starting to add it in the beginning of my videos bc new people get confused. Lol I don't get the point of concealer with no coverage, so that's disappointing. 😅 Hopefully the other products will be released in the UK eventually! In the meantime you can't wait to see if the hype dies down. 👀
I want a pink blush so bad but I keep reminding myself that the sale is coming up in less than two months. I just got rid of my powder makeup because it does NOT play nice with the climate since I've moved, and now have some holes but I'm still working on holding off
The Kosas setting powder being used, panned, and broken is TOO REAL! I've gone through 3 of them mfs and they all end up crumbling lol. It DOES contain Mica, which gives a subtle shinmer. I'm using the Ami Colé setting powder now and its amazing.
I'm not one to say every brand that releases complexion products needs to have a a ton of shades for everybody, there is tons of options out there now for everyone. But I will say if you do and trying to promote you are inclusive I will comment. The Mac concealer range is so weird to me. It feels like have the colors are so close to each other that even the difference in undertone is not so noticeable in the swatches. it feels like almost half those shades could have scrapped because they are too similar to other shades. Also the layout and naming on the deep shades is weird. Like nw58 looks like it should be down with nw 65. The darker medium to deep shades have jumps while the light shades have imo unnecessary overlaps in shades. Lastly all the arm models have a swatch that seems to match them nicely except the one in the middle, which sucks for me because that's the closest to my skin color
🗣Hourglass take a cue from Patrick Ta and Rhode Beauty!!!!!!!! They still need a 4th one to come close to being more inclusive. I think they are very pretty but my Haus lab blushes are much more complimentary on my texture
I agree with you. 👏 They attempted to make the palette deeper this year (I think) but a fourth one could help. I still think it’s better to allow us to customize the pans though!!
The new fenty foundation beautiful ! Dior forever glow, nars light reflecting. Fenty is great has a great shade range and last the longest. Dior is just gorgeous but expensive. And the nars runs a tiny orange but i’m olive/ warm so i made it work I hope this helps❤
The about face foundation is perfect for combination and dry skin. I have extremely dry skin & it performs great! Not heavy, long lasting, medium coverage, buildable, so many shades/undertones, and affordable. $22 at Ulta and you can apply the $3.50 coupon when checking out !
I would love to hear your thoughts on the upcoming Lancôme holiday collection, specifically the eyeshadow palette. I fell in love with the packaging and the shades (particularly the blue one) but I’ve never tried their eyeshadows before so I’m nervous about the formula. I really need an opinion on it because I’ve got my eyes set on a Chanel palette as well, and since everyone raves about Chanel eyeshadows I imagine the formula must be really good, but I can’t afford to have both !!
Hi! I likely won’t be reviewing Lancôme unless I get enough requests. For now I’d say to analyze the collections and find which one aligns with your usage preferences the most. 😊♥️
Lancôme Eyeshadow and makeup in general is amazing! I’ve been using their products since the mid ‘90’s. Especially the Holiday Collection. Best bang for your buck.
@@lauraturner7048 thanks for letting me know that ! I own a lipstick from Lancôme which is absolutely lovely but wasn’t sure about their eyeshadows so I’m feeling a lot more reassured now
makeup is so freaking glowy now that I have to wear powder everywhere, which I love but I wish that there would be more matte/satin products in drugstores like if I have to buy a powder to fix what every product does in a drugstore than it says more about the products than my love for powder
Since we don’t have sephora in the Netherlands, I only buy makeup on holiday! That way I also think of happy holidays memories as I use the makeup! I keeps my splurges at bay and I feel like it justifies me mainly having high end :) i do tend to make a list before hand when I have a holiday planned though..
Now after watching this: as a oily gurlie, agreed on all the glowy releases and will pass on those. I’ve been so impressed with all my danessa myricks purchases so the new eyeshadow palette is HIGH on my list but damn that price.

The reason makeup brands charge so much is because people are willing to pay for it. Vote with your money, do not purchase them to make them roll down their prices.
The Patrick Ta foundation has me excited. I have dry skin and am ultra pale (like I have trouble finding foundations that are light enough). I actually took home a sample yesterday to try. I dont think itll replace my Estee Lauder in late winter cause of the shade, but I have to work hard to get the EL to work on my dry skin. So if I can get it to work for me in summer & autumn that will make my life much easier Though its gcrazy expensive here in Canada. Its $81 here, the EL is $70
@ellerchu With the exchange rate its not that much more expensive than if I went down to the states to buy it (today's ex says that its approximately $60 USD). I haven't bought it yet, but I brought home a sample size from Sephora the other day. It seems to have a sticky finish on me (dry and transfer proof). I'm trying it without my sticky & hydrating primer (Milk) today, and it seems slightly less sticky, but we'll see how it holds up at the end of the day.
Another comment lol the givenchy powder is the saddest thing i ever i tried to buy the last of the stock off stylevana and they shipped one shade (hoping if it’s the old formula ) but my fav shade they emailed me 3 weeks after i purchased they ran out of it. I hope they come to there senses

@@ellerchu completely agree! I stopped buying new releases and honestly just decided to stick to my go 2 products!! These prices have been insane recently and unfortunately don't have the money to buy them. Thank you for your honest reviews!
Hii! Love the video they're so helpful. Does anyone have a recommendation for a skin tint or a medium coverage foundation for oily skin that CAN SURVIVE SCHOOL AIR and is acne safe... I know its a lot but PLS YALL
L’Oréal true match skin tinted serum has a lot of coverage and it’s long lasting. Fenty beauty skin tint is light weight on the skin and lasts about 4-5 hours on my oily skin (pair it with a primer and setting spray for more longevity).
CoverFX is Amazing. Their products are used by Athletes and are safe for acne. They have 3-4 different types of foundation depending on the type of coverage you want.
I won’t do it in every video (but maybe every other) bc I understand it can be much. But it just prevents the same comments and questions I get from new viewers!
I watch a bunch of macro and micro beauty creators on UA-cam - Robert Welsh, State of Kait, By Kristina Studio, Kelly Gooch, Morgan Turner, Hannah Louise Poston and many many more. I like watching a variety of perspectives! 🫶
I could never fall for Fondation releases caz im a cushion girl, specially an Unleashia Green cushion. Also i cant really justify spending more than $13 on make up thats not my EVERY DAY routine rn. m just broke broke 💔 😢
the rhode blush issue with golloria was stupid. like if its foundation id get it but its color theory at the end of the day. if its too ashy on you then its not for you pick some other color girl
I’m not sure you watched closely. She did choose the colors she thought would work on her skin (even the darkest color, Toasted Teddy) and they mostly appeared ashy. So there were no other options in the Rhode blush line for her or other people with deep skin tones. I also wouldn’t minimize her experience with a product as “stupid.”
@ellerchu just like she said, when you advocate for inclusivity it gives brands the chance to prove what they REALLY value. Big ups to Hailey and Patrick for listening in and I hope the industry gets to the point where they don’t need multiple releases to be inclusive.
@@ellerchu It's also important to note that 1) based on someone's budget, they might be limited to only certain brands, which might not carry complimentary shades for all skin tones, 2) if a brand wants to be successful, it would behoove them to cater to all skin tones 3) yes, a person could choose to purchase from a brand, regardless of labels "luxury/high-end or more affordable," but if there are such few brands that offer shades for all skin tones - what is a person to do??? Sufficed to say, all brands should release at least a decent number of shades for every skin tone, complexion product or color product. IT'S 2024!!!!!!! SMH !!! So if no one speaks up or chooses to "make a big deal about it," some of us will enjoy using makeup and buying it and contributing to the beauty economics of it all, and some of us others will be left out....That's not the kind of world I want to live in. Not for me, not for my family, not for our species. Simply put: everyone benefits from inclusivity: brands and consumers.
Idk why Natasha Denona palette is on this list. She's a mua who makes her own formulas, the powders are high quality italian, in the price range for those & you like them. How does you buying the wrong color story for your skintone, make this palette overpriced ? I understand the logic that you feel like you wasted _you_ wasted money, by not being patient, but that doesn't make this palette overpriced bc of it ? I recommend you just buy it & declutter the other one. Spray some antiseptic on it, clean the edges & give it to a neutral/cool undertone friend for a birthday or holiday !
Hi! The title and thumbnail should not be taken literally. This video is part of my “new makeup releases” series where I simply state my thoughts on general upcoming products. I positioned the title this way because I mention in the video that some releases like the Patrick Ta foundation was overpriced (to me) and makeup in general has become more expensive (to me). During the Natasha Denona segment, I did not say that the palette was overpriced or that I “wasted my money” on it. Even if I had, price is subjective and what’s affordable or overpriced to me might not be to you - no matter how it’s made or where it comes from or who makes it. But maybe I should make a video that only features makeup I think is overpriced.. 🤔
hearing people not buy the Patrick Ta foundation because it's too expensive makes me so happy

Youre easily one of my fav content creators now but does the whole intro about the mic thing have to be a thing in every video? Just genuinely asking!
I won’t do it in every video (but maybe every other) bc I understand it can be much. But it just prevents the same comments and questions I get from new viewers!
My story is worse than yours like i decided to buy the gold palette and then the warm palette came out the next week 😂😂😂
Which yt chanels do you watch ?⭐️🎀
I watch a bunch of macro and micro beauty creators on UA-cam - Robert Welsh, State of Kait, By Kristina Studio, Kelly Gooch, Morgan Turner, Hannah Louise Poston and many many more. I like watching a variety of perspectives! 🫶
I could never fall for Fondation releases caz im a cushion girl, specially an Unleashia Green cushion. Also i cant really justify spending more than $13 on make up thats not my EVERY DAY routine rn. m just broke broke 💔 😢
Cushions are high quality and at great prices anyways!
the rhode blush issue with golloria was stupid. like if its foundation id get it but its color theory at the end of the day. if its too ashy on you then its not for you pick some other color girl
