I'm glad to see there's still a large community of people interested in Sky Gamestar. I'm working on an archive. I have some Screenshots, In-Game music, and created some offline versions of the Denki Tom and Jerry game, Tom and Jerry Food Fight, and Beehive-Bedlam. If anyone has some assets they'd like to share, or a copy of my archive so far please let me know.
Have you got battleships? Used to play on it constantly. Be good if sky released a mini console where all the old sky games are on there. Just like Sega did with their mini Megadrive.
I’m just happy I’m not alone 🥹

Finally found somebody talking about Sky Games, felt like me and my family were the only ones who knew about it lol.
I remember being a little kid playing these games before going to junior school and I'm now in University.
My favourite games was Cartoon Carnage and Word Crunch, don't know why everyone liked Beehive Bedlam so much.
It only feels like it was yesterday I played these games and it was a decade ago.
If that Denki company can release these games again I hope it can be played on TV like the good old days.
This whole video gave me the biggest sense of nostalgia I have ever had 😂
This unlocked so many memories. I remember on Saturdays my dad would buy a games pass and id play all morning. There was a mystery hunters game i cannot find for the life of me.
I just remembered these and had to find out what happened to em, my god they were brilliant.
I remember holding me breath praying that the goddamn pink bar would move faster, hoping that nobody would see that I'm spending a cheeky 2 pound on 24hrs access.
I used to love the Tom and Jerry game where you were jumping across the plates collecting cheese
There was a sweet spot of popularity, probably from around 2000 to 2007, for Sky Games. Before then, a lot of people didn't have digital or satellite television and after that the internet (and the various games that came with it) became a major part of peoples' lives. Sky Games, Challenge TV, Boomerang and Soccer AM are major TV-related examples of my early to mid 2000s life.
I’m soo happy this video exists
I was thinking about sky games randomly and I thought I was the old person who played them I used to play it when I didn’t have access’s to the wii (this was 2008 when I was 4) and I remember loving playing the SpongeBob games and Tom and Jerry even if I never had a day pass or anything just playing demos of the games and I loved it honestly some of the livened games on it we’re as good as the console counterparts i remember playing beehive bedlam too This video was a great watch thank you
Its fun coming back to this video now since basically all the games have been made playable from the link you provided.
It's so great to not only relive my childhood but actually play the full games that my parents would never pay for.
The wave of nostalgia that hit me with the music at 3:55
I know right?!❤
I remember playing the Robotboy, Tom & Jerry and the Looney Tunes: Back In Action games all the time whenever I was on Sky Interactive. My family had the old box from the early-mid 2000s before upgrading to grey Sky HD box. Ever since bills and costs starting rising up for us like maybe 8 years ago, we had to get rid of Sky in favour of our LG TV and built-in Freeview.
I grew up with sky and I really thought the games were absolutely amazing
Nostalgia is coming back to me
I feel like no one remembers bumble tumble on sky games. People mix it up with beehive bedlam because of the bees. It was so good and every trace has disappeared. Someone please find it.
Great video, I recently remembered this service again and I'm glad to see there are still people keeping the memory of it alive!!!!
Such a wonderful video, hitting right in the sweet spot of my nostalgia. Glad I can play a few of these games again!
I remember the fairly odd parents worms game. It was a red button game on Nickelodeon. Played that one a lot
As a sky interactive player myself I can confirm they did do a worm featuring fairly odd Parents.
I used to love the Robotboy game and the Shrek game. The only proof of their existence I could find are some pictures on twitter lol
Where’s the footage of Four Robotboy Video Games on Sky Games
I remember the robot boy and shrek games :’)!
MEE TOO ❤
Oh i remember. Do you know about the Wallace and Gromit one?
Man can see you put a lot of effort into videos and cover really cool niche subjects. Praying you blow up
I listened to this while walking and when you said "Evil Bloo" i thought it was Blue from Blue's Clues.
Thank you for making this video! I remember loving Sky Interactive as a kid but all of my memories associated with it have faded, with the exception of that Beehive Bust-a-move game. I don't know why, but it just stood out to me.
Also, I could be wrong about this, but I heard that a lot of these games were ports of official Flash games released in the US..? Which if true, means a lot of them should be archived on BlueMaxima's Flashpoint?
It still exists in modern time if you have a Sky Kids subscription! (Well, under heavy redesign)
Great video i remember the tomb raider game from sky games it was my favourite. I also liked Catapiller Crunch.
Oooo the music 🥹 it’s like I’m a kid again!❤
I grew up in France, we could get sky (cough… illegally… those sky viewing cards were only for UK residents, same as like how iplayer is only viewable in the UK) and we didn’t have Sky+ cuz that was basically impossible outside of the uk afaik, so we were always stuck with the free, limited time versions of the games. Didn’t stop me from obsessively playing and replaying those first 60 seconds of every single damn game! 😂
Thank you so much dot making this video. I just remembered the Battleships game waaaay back in like 2002-2003 or so, because I just remembered that game existed for the first time in like 23 years, and the I got a vague nostalgia thinking of the music, I tried to find it on YT with several search terms and ended up finding your video instead, man am I glad! Sadly though, couldn’t find the Battleships music, which already sent lost media bells ringing in my head. I’ll look for it more deeply tomorrow and save that, I’ll post on r/lostmedia, see if anyone has any ideas. I really wanna hear that soundtrack man 😂
Glad you enjoyed it, I could find some footage of the battleship gameplay but not with the music : ua-cam.com/video/ZIO0dEDzCEQ/v-deo.htmlsi=itkKmJRHhpBnlrvg
I recommend joining the discord and asking there : discord.gg/CMWfSMSf
Fittingly enough, the Sky card was actually a reversed engineered Canal+ smart card.
@@glassowlie whaaat?? Can you share any more info on this? I'm super curious
@@EvilHamburger64 Oh hell yeah!! You legend! Whoa what a throwback seeing this footage. I think I saw some footage in either your video or another video while I was searching but it was only a split second, it's awesome to see proper footage. Shame about no music though, I'm determined to find it eventually!
Thanks for the reply!
Edit: Discord invite expired, sorry I didn't see your comment until just now after someone else commented, would you mind sharing another please? Or just telling me the server name? Thanks!
@@KoraOSRS I got the information from Bob the Fish Productions' Square Peg.
Hi, I'm from Italy! I used to play these games on tv when I was a little boy. This is such nostalgic and I hope in the future Denki's company will make all of them playable again. I subscribed on your channel and I activated notifications in order to stay tuned. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, I spent hours finding this kind of videos (I already knew about Betty Macaulay's channel but couldn't find any way to try to play games again). I'm sooooo happy now! Thank you again🥰
I only played the Mystery Hunters game, which is now lost media.
Wow thank god there’s a video about this, I remember these one day just went away forever… And the old UI is so nostalgic!
I do remember the fairly odd parents worm clone, but I am certain you had to press the red button on Nickelodeon or Nick Jr to access it rather than it being in the Sky Games area
Yea I do remember that. Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network would sometimes have their own games not directly from Sky Games.
I remember the FairyOdd Parents have a “worm” style game. I may be wrong but the because it was Fairy Odd Parents themed, most of the background/environments was a bunch of stars.
I remember for Cartoon Network, they had “red button game” of Ed Edd n Eddy. It had something to do with Water Balloons kinda like Angry Birds.
I grew up with a different Sky Games, it was the brazillian version and it was SO FUCKING GOOD MMMM
Pretty intersting seeing how popular this concept of Cable/Satellite TV games was in the UK. Here in the US, we had several services like Sky Games such as Playin TV and Dish Network Games. I don't think they caught on here as much as in Britian judging by how much less archival there is of our verison.
The American services had licenced games too, but they were mostly AOL/RealArcade and Hasbro ports besides the Disney Channel menu.
Yes these games on cable boxes existed even back in the mid 90s here,. There was bowling, battleships, a submarine game. loads of kool stuff.
Hmm 🤔 interesting
Anyone here remember Bumble Tumble? I am part of a team trying to remake the game. We have been searching extensively for imagery. Any leads would be appreciated!
Yeah I definitely think I remember playing that game years ago but I can’t remember what you do in it again lol. I’ve been trying to find it also
HOLY SHIT IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THE FAIRLY ODD PARENTS WORMS GAME FOR YEARS
Beehive Bedlam was one of my go to games i would play on sky games when I was a kid.
I too would play the first two levels and when sky made all their games free to play for a while i played it whenever i could.
There was a Pipe game on sky games that I used to play but it seems to be lost to time.
Anyone remember games being on mtv or vh1? I have a faint memory of something like going through an office building doing tasks...
6:40 that Nemo game looks alot like the SEGA Mega Drive game, Ecco the Dolphin 👀
We had a similar thing in Canada. Not at my house - we had basic cable - but my uncle's house had satellite TV and we were able to get something similar but it was all retro games that were out of license or were only available for maaaybeeee a week.
The fairly odd parents worm style game did exist with blue cosmo
The fairly odd parents Worms clone did exist, it was a game that if you pressed the Red button while watching the NickToons channel, you could pick Cosmo or Wanda as your character

In the days where we watched TV channels, this was my childhood pastime!
8:35. At the time of the introduction of the Sky Digibox in 1998, USB was only starting to take off. So it didn't have any USB ports yet.
All the nostalgia!! The Tom and Jerry game especially.
And yes there was a fairly odd parents game like Worms. It was on nickelodeon or nick toons when you press red I believe and it was 3 levels. And it would play in front of the program which would carry on. I remember spending a lot of time on it. There was also some meerkat madness game on national geographic.
Anyone remember playjam too?
I miss the old days. And also being terrified of when the Telephone light went on and my heart skipping thinking its costing the bill so kept the telephone line unplugged. But at least trying to get the remote codes from Interactive didnt take money.
0:07 THIS.
I forgot how it felt for a thunderstorm to hit, and the ENTIRE house to fall into silence.
Hello, is there a way to play these old games again? I miss playing games through Sky

Does anyone remember that meerkat manor game? You used to press red on the animal planet channel and play it, it was great 👍🏼
i’m gonna cry❤❤
I'm so glad you made this
Any idea who created the games king tutti or Fathom ?
We're not getting those days back 😢
Can you please do a review of the game Battleships. I can’t find footage or even pictures of it anywhere. Used to play on it constantly as a kid. The sound effects used to be awesome.
Aw man absolute memories, good times! I remember never being allowed to pay for any games but my dad once getting past the paywall for the Lilo & Stitch game and Supermarket Reap on Playjam! Does anyone remember the Disney Fantasia game on Sky Gamestar?
I vaguely remember from my youth one of these games being a Sokoban/move blocks style game except it had bananas and a monkey you should not touch. This was in the mid 90s IIRC. I cannot remember for the life of me what the name of it was and I'm sure there must be someone out there who can fill me in if I'm misremembering it. It had multiple levels the last of which I could never beat but I enjoyed it immensely. I would like to play it again if possible
Sky went to shit when they got rid of this.
My mum use to take out The Sky Viewing Card in the Sky Box back in my days too
I've never forgiven them for that as I couldn't watch Challenge TV, and all the good old game shows Challenge use to have on it
And it made me feel I was a prisoner in my own home especially as I don't think they truly understood about my mental health at the time
In fact all they were succeeding in doing was making break their rules & insert the card into the box, I was trying to make it clear that their rules were unacceptable to me
Funnily enough, Denki was comprised of some former members of DMA Design (Rockstar North), also of Dundee, Scotland.
So you might as well have been playing DMA Design games, even as a child not allowed to play Grand Theft Auto.
Coincidentally, there was also Lemmings for the Gamestar. Or was it for PlayJam or ITV Games?
ive been searching for years now, and my memory may be wrong, but i always remember me and my dad playing a game on sky interactive/gamestar about the tv show mystery hunters, but i cannot find anything about this online. if anyone could help me or tell me the actual game it is i remember that would be great. it was a top down puzzle/adventure game, you were inside a pyramid and had to collect items/keys to unlock the doors and avoid mummies inside the game
There was another bee game on Sky Interactive that was a platformer, but I can't for the life of me remember its name.
bumble tumble ??

Jinja Ninja does anyone know about it? There's barely any footage of it on the net, I lovedddd that game
Is there anyway I can access Play Jam aswell?
I wish I can play caterpillar crunch, that was my childhood game.
Never knew sky had games! I thought it was just made for watching tv lol
I remember Beehive Bedlam being the only fully free one back when I played them, but it didn't stop me from watching the Demos, including the full 25 levels of T&J Food Fight 🙃
I found this video when searching for the archived games and have been having some fun with the Tom & Jerry ones, although being able to have either music or SFX and not both is kind of annoying, plus the passcodes won't work as the button causes the game to crash (Dynamice for example), but hey, nice playing what I thought was surely lost media.

I've spent years trying to find footage of a sky interactive game called Jinja Ninja
there is 0 trace online of it ever existing
there's a solid chance it was an elaborate hallucination
No way this is surreal, I'm subscribed to your channel and love your videos. After a quick google search Jinja Ninja brought me to the India Nostalgia subreddit where apparently it was also a game on a service called DishTV which is an Indian version of Sky so perhaps it was also imported/exported to them too, there's some very brief footage of it, looks like a platformer with a grappling hook and Yoda looking enemies. I'll keep a look out on my Sky Games nostalgia hunt for it :)
Ik exactly what you're talking about. I remember that was on another Sky service called Playjam which also had amazing games. I used to play Jinja Ninja and other Playjam games all the time which was what eventually led me to Sky Games Star
Frickin CBBC and CBeebies don't need a sky card nor does CITV or Pop

Oof, I wish that Caterpillar crunch was back because I like that game.
I remember the dart game that was best
YES fantastic video

I used to play when I was younger
someone could easily make a sky games emulator with the permission of Denki

Heya, I’m sorry you’re having trouble with it.
Are you struggling with getting the game to respond to your button commands? If so you’ll need to use a keypad. You can use a virtual one if you don’t have a physical one.
But do you mean that literally nothing is showing up and you’re just getting a blank screen? If so I’d say maybe try using a different browser.
