  • Hello my friends! How are you doing? I'm back with another video and settings for the Nux MG-400. This time, we'll go through a step-by-step guide on how to program a Jazz Chorus amp simulator. We'll cover a clean tone for rhythm guitar, Clean + chorus, and a TS9 Overdrive. In the second part of the video, we have additional JC120 presets, so make sure to watch until the end. All the settings used on the MG400 are in the video. Thanks!

    I'm using a stratocaster for these presets - a Corona Standard ST in the first part of the video and a Fender Japan in the second part.

      Among others that also come to mind, I immediately think of Steve Rothery from Marillion and the clean parts of Metallica, haha See: ua-cam.com/video/8n9wn0iIaKw/v-deo.html

      Fala Max! Eu gosto quando ele é novo ou pelo menos quando está todo original. Nunca tive um mas sempre que peguei pelos palcos um que estivesse como saiu da fábrica, sempre gostei também. O problema é que esses que as empresas de sonorizações de eventos usam ficam "surrados" com os anos passando nas mãos de tanta gente. As equipes precisam fazer manutenções de tempos em tempos... às vezes os falantes estão roncando e os caras trocam por outros que ninguém nem sabe onde foi feito haha potenciômetros estragados, jacks :) Aí os caras abrem, fazem reparos substituindo as peças por outras...aff, já vi tanto isso na época dos bailes haha

    How about sharing your daily bread and butter go-to presets when you play live?

    • @DirectRecordingGuitar
      @DirectRecordingGuitar  5 місяців тому +2

      I only use a single patch and a single IR on the MG30 for about 95% of shows. Fender Super Reverb preamp + one of my IRs. 3 Scenes on CTRL1 and the external footswitch being CTRL2 and CTRL3. I like to insert some external pedals before the MG30 and send/return depending on the repertoire. :) I'm always posting photos on our Insta. Last night, for example, I didn't use muti-effects. But it was a separate day, most of the time I use it.

      @@DirectRecordingGuitar I see, you are a pedal guy like me.
      I thought you would like like a general clean, clean+chorus, then another crunch and solo preset on multi-effects like some people does.

    • @DirectRecordingGuitar
      @DirectRecordingGuitar  5 місяців тому +1

      Yes, I enjoy hybrid setups. I've been doing this since the days of the Gt100, Hd500x, G5n, and others; there are old photos on Instag. However, I also use only the MG-30 for some shows when I'm not in the mood to carry the extra weight of a hardcase, haha, so it goes in the guitar bag. It's essentially the same preset I mentioned, using the Super Reverb with a clean tone in Scene 1, rhythm Dist in Scene 2, and Lead tone in Scene 3 (Crunch Box). Then I toggle the T-Wah on/off, and I have the Phase 90 on the external footswitch. I spend a significant portion of the shows on this preset without needing to switch to another. When using only the MG30, I need about 3 presets, always using the same preamp + IR, simulating a real stage situation where there's only one amp. When I press the down footswitch, I have a preset loaded in the modulations, so I press Up and go back to the main preset. Pressing Up again accesses the third preset, a blues tone SRV style in Scene 1 with the TS9, Morning Glory in Scene 2, and a Fuzz Face in Scene 3. There are three ODs in the same patch as I did in this video: ua-cam.com/video/5y2QyCymNzY/v-deo.html / I have a fourth preset prepared, which is the same lead tone as the main preset using the Crunch Box from the MG30, but I have the harmonist programmed in case it's needed in any of the repertoires. When I have a repertoire focused on metal, I abandon the Super Reverb and use the JCM800 or 5150 as the main preset (riffs, lead, harmonist) and JC120 for clean tones. 👊🔥🎸

      @@DirectRecordingGuitar Thanks for your insight, now I know how to form and organize a basic preset for live.

    • @DirectRecordingGuitar
      @DirectRecordingGuitar  5 місяців тому +1

      It will depend on your repertoires. This could be a start if you play funk groove or another style that uses clean tones as a base: ua-cam.com/video/WXL21WnkzPQ/v-deo.html
