Jonathan, hope you are well. It's good to hear your beautiful playing, let alone your gear reviews. Tim Pierce and you must be among the most listenable guitarists on Y/tub. I don't have the time to catch all your posts, now we're no longer in lockdown, but I must say each time I hear you, your playing sounds better and better.
Hi Jon...I was sold on the MG-300 until I watched your clip on the 400. For the price difference, there seem to be so many more features included over the 300 (which seems to be such a great unit to begin with) that I will be buying the 400 very soon. Thanks as usual for a great and detailed video...
Nice to see these units including some bass amp options also. So much easier to buy one product that can be used for both guitar and bass if you are on a budget and need both. I like it!👍
Great content! Well done! When you were using the looper you can edit the looper and switch it to AR (auto recording) where once you hit the record button it will only record once you start playing!
So do you have to send that one back.. or do you get to keep it, and if there are two, well you know ;) ... do you ever feel intimidated by some of this technology... So many variables of playing with sounds ..wow
Great for home use, but i would like to have seen a far bigger display, my old eyes stuggle with small cramped displays. Perhaps they will improve the display on the next model. Thanks for your review Jon🙂👍
I had the RP355. The modelling is just as good even if that is a legacy model if…. you add your own IR Cab sim pedal after it. IR modelling is probably the biggest advancement over the years.
Great review, Jon - I subscribed immediately! 😉 However, I could really do with some more sound examples, f.e. Reverb/Delay/Hall... What about a "Part II" ? 😊 👍👍👍
Great video as always Jon! How was the recording experience with the mg-400? And did you directly plug it in as the main interface during recording or did you connect the output of the mg-400 to an audio interface? My main reason to get this unit would be for recording guitar on garage band as an amp modeler so just wondering how well it is suited for that. Thanks!
Thank you so much for a great video! I’ve been waiting for this for a long time! I have a question: how would you compare the time-based effects on the MG-400 to the MG-300? Do they sound basically the same? Because I have found that the MG-300 has very beautiful effects (in terms of reverb, delay, chorus, tremolo). Does the MG-400 basically have the very same effects, with the same algorithms and the same sound? If so, I think I would like to upgrade from my MG-300 to the MG-400, since the MG-400 is better for live performance. Thanks!
Hi Johnathan. Will any of these NU-X pedals allow me to save the drum pattern, tempo and drum volume on a per patch basis? In a live situation I don't want to reach down and choose my drum pattern and tempo for each song. I want to be able to use only my feet to navigate to a user preset, choose it, get my guitar tone and my drums with a predetermined tempo and drum volume, step on a switch to start the drums, then step on a switch to stop the drums. Is that possible? Thanks, Toby
Hi Jon, thank you for the great review! Could you please explain what the most left switches do on the jam mode? Are you able to change patches with these, or do you need to disable jam mode?
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Any chance of confirming the same, or maybe even doing a UA-cam short, please? It is the only reason I see it useful over the MG-300
Is there an issue with the whining noise? Ground loop or not liking your setup / connection? Sometimes pedals will ground loop through the USB cable and or line in.
I want to buy this product, but the boxed item and the manual lack any information on whether my Macintosh computer (Intel Core i7) and its macOS 12.7.1 Monterey operating system is compatible with the product. Not even the NUX website has supporting documents to clarify this. Jon, can you tell me if this product will work with my computer and Garageband?
Nice Demo and Review Jon! Can you use an Amp and adjust the EQ from the Amp then just use the Pedal for Effects? Thanks and Cheers from Salem, Ohio US.
I see someone here that's a little underrated when it comes to youtube guitarists. It's one thing to shred the shit out of something, and completely another to make a sonic solo with dynamics and all of it combined. Amazing job. I was upset when you stopped playing !!!! Jon, have you had recording issues? I have an MG300 which sounds amazing but is garbage when trying to record with it (driver issues/ needs an interface).
Jon, have you ever tried the Hot Cake(s?) I saw PRS himself talk about in a quick video, and it sounds so darn good... it's made by a guy over in New Zealand I think...
When I heard the 3rd patch... [thought to myself, that's pretty wild and hairy] ...then I read the patch name: "Jon's Sex Drive" 😉 Great detailed, but straight-to-the-point review, Jon! Very groovy licks...would be a great driving-home music, coming from a hard days work ❤🤘
Jon’s sex drive - Lol 😂😂 It and all your tones sound excellent and the intro was wonderful 🙏🙏🙏 All in all it looks like a great pedal. Great review Jon - cheers 🙏🙏🙏🙏

your looper demo reminds me of a song - can't for the world of it remember it. its so good!

Hi Jonathan, what a comprehensive package with soooo many options available. A ‘one-stop’ box. Great review. I loved it. Cheers ✌️🎸💜

Perhaps they will improve the display on the next model.
Thanks for your review Jon🙂👍
That’s why provided you with the quick tone editor so you can see what you’re doing on your computer screen✌️❤️
Your vdo is why I chose the mg400.
Thanks

Jon, you are a legend on the guitar! Great unit, awesome licks, cheers mate!

I love your playing and you always have a good sound...now I am not so sure if I like the sounds of this NUX
Thank you✌️❤️
Nice review, The Digitech RP360 has all these features except it doesn't allow you to play the drums and the looper together.
I see..✌️❤️

Thanks for you very informative demo of MG400 does the Drum section have Latin beats or patterns ?, since I like to buy one soon.thx
Glad to help ✌️❤️
Very nice playing!!!!
Thanks a lot!
Logo mais a nux nos surpreende com a mg 40 🔥
si✌💙
Eu tô impressionado com a qualidade das pedaleiras da Nux.
Does this have an envelope filter? If it does then I’m sold.
dont think so..
Hi Jonathan. More power to your channel. Would there be a Pitch shifter on this wonderful modeller, or a firmware update that may include it?
Please check NuX website for details.✌️❤️
Great value
Yep✌️❤️
Great playing brother. Great demo.
Thank you kindly!✌️❤️
hi jon, can i chain overdrive with distortion? i cant can i? since they both sit on EFX pedal. lets say, tube scream and after a DS1. Thanks
Yes you can.. ✌️❤️

Yes I did it the old school way.. stereo out from the MG400 to my interface ✌️❤️
where is the pitch shifter ?
No pitch shifter.. a chorus instead
Hi, can you please tell me if the mg 400 has the Pitch shifter (it can raise and lower the guitar's tuning - polyphonic) and the Duotime effects ?
Please google their website...www.nuxefx.com/mg400.html
Sounds like a high-pitched whine coming from it- when you change pedals the whine changes. Is this the case?
That’s probably been picked up by my mic.. Old house
NUX is planning to produce MG40.
Probably✌️❤️
Thank you so much for a great video!

I understand..I'm not really sure..YOu should post your question on the MG400 facebook page...facebook.com/groups/nuxmg400group
Bravo once again.

If I'm not mistaken, you are able to change patches during the jam...✌

Can the MG400 double-stack overdrives or distortions like the MG30 ?
Not too sure.. check out the MG400 forum in Facebook✌️❤️
Hi everyone, please can someone explain me the difference between looper mono(60 s) and Looper stereo( 30s ) on the nux mg 400?
mono and stereo loops are dependent on the unit's memory allocation...mono uses less space..
Is there an issue with the whining noise? Ground loop or not liking your setup / connection? Sometimes pedals will ground loop through the USB cable and or line in.
Nah the ground loop was picked up by the mic.. old house… the unit itself is quiet ✌️❤️
Hi Jon, can you switch to a different tone preset when doing looping? Can you use the up/down footswithes in the jam mode?
I believe so✌️❤️

Yes it will.. you can find more information at the Facebook NUX MG400 group. In any case I’m connected the MG400 to my Audio Interface, not via USB
Thanks Jon. I'll check it out. Love ❤your playing. @@JonIsJustTooLoud

It’s called NUX Trident
Would the mg-400 sound good thru an Alto ts-310? I just got mine and I’m mine and I’m on a very limited, so what do you think????
I think it should be fine✌️❤️

Is it true that the whammy effect is not available for mg-400. I know, It was available for mg-300 already. By the way thank you for demo. =)
Most welcome
What about 2 different IRs in L-R ?
No can do ✌️❤️
Nicee play🤘🎸
Thanks ✌️
Awesome this one
Glad you like it
What do you think? This is superior to the MG30? ,,,,another question; How it sounds in front of a real amp, with no amp and cab simulations?
Technically it’s not busy than the MG30 but others will disagree. It’s not meant to be used with an amp.✌️❤️
i like ur preset in mg300
plis share again about preset mg400

You can leave a preset in each ctrl?
Nope ✌️❤️

Hi Jon, how does the mg400 compare to the mg30. Would you choose one over the other and why? Thanks a lot for your great video and playing.
