During Twitch stream, Ren talked about how, after each relapse of his health, he feels like he's rebuilding himself again. Maybe it's about killing the old self and rebuilding himself. Reincarnation, nirvana as in his song Masochist
Ren's biggest health issue right now is his autoimmune disorder. The lyme disease confused his body, and now his body's autoimmune system sees itself as a threat. His own body is literally killing itself. Seems to be a lot of parallels in the video.
Ren killed all his old versions ,so that he can evolve. This us the first track of new album Slaughterhouse. The bunny Jihnson is the new logo. He was stabbed in the eye gere abd filmed another hour to finush. He was in hospital for a weej blind in thst eye About a month ago he was pushing to finish new Tale and the eye flared again nust as bad as when it was injured. And his body started crashing. He has had a very hard couple months. Also looks like he won't be touring..maybe never. He cried telling us. Ren and Kit giving us a very warm welcome to the slaughter house 🔥 Well done for a first listen! The wordplay wizard went off on this one! And he went a little dark too 🖤 An absolute genius at putting his struggles into art. Also while the song was written and the video filmed before his recent health dive, it certainly adds a layer to the experience of this track. Luckily he seems to have gotten through the worst of it as he’s back showing his face on instagram and even did a long twitch stream after the premiere. There were some very emotional moments, but also hopeful ones. Our sick boi can eat rice now! I am so hyped for the rest of the album! 🐰
Great breakdown, as usual. I noticed that you were correcting those lyrics in real time, but for your future relistens, Ren's lyrics are pinned in the comments of Ren's music video. May be best just to turn off those UA-cam video. The only mistake I heard you make on lyrics was the making mountains out of molehills reference near the beginning. After the fiasco of the Kujo situation, Ren isn't taking any chances with this album. He's produced, mixed and mastered every track on Slaughter House! Even all the samples are created by Ren. :) As usual, he directed and edited the video himself. :)

I feel for Ren, he must feel so alone and not understood most of the time, but I am grateful when I see someone who is able to comprehend his visions in the sea of reactors who are mostly superficial. Grateful for Sohum, he has depth and empathy and intelligence and music in his soul, it shines through in every reaction, and if Ren sees it I am glad he can feel truly seen and understood.
