- Mickey and Will from @throtl brought one crazy green Frankenstein to the strip: a Model S Tesla converted Nissan 350Z with with an exclusive, 1-of-1 370Z bodykit! That’s right it’s an electric Z, or as Gary dubbed it a “Zesla”. Meanwhile Robert may go by @Static_Livin but he’s zooming around with an all-time great: a 2002 Dodge Viper with a beefy 8 liter, v10 engine in classic red. IC vs EV! RED vs GREEN! THIS vs THAT!

I was actually surprised by the viper. Maybe it’s just the driver but that thing rolled out so smooth.
They have incredibly long gears, which definitely help with a smooth roll out. I think 1st gear goes until almost 60mph!
Wide tires, stock HP and that loooooong 3.07 rear diff ratio make it pretty easy to launch.
@@Forza4You Urban legend is that they designed it specifically to max out the 0-60 time. They just go a little far into the gauge
Actually more surprised by that Tesla swap. What on earth did they do to complete kill the instant torque of an electric engine?
A little bit of the driver.. as well as it’s not even a full 500hp, with sticky tires and very wide tires. It’s going to want to hook.
Can we all just appreciate Viper drivers reaction time of the 2nd race where the Z had the hit. Dude can drag!

I didn't expect the Viper to grip so well off the line. Driver was on point with those shifts and kept reeling in that Nissan.
I’ve ridden in those first gen vipers, those 335s in the rear work phenomenally well. Even from a dig, the long gearing with that torque works so well
They also have over like 52% of the weight on the rear wheels. I had a gen 2 viper and it cut 1.6-1.7 60 foots stock. 2002 gts
that's what they are known for all that grip with such big tire and also why so many crashed them especially with no drivers assistance in it good grip high confidence one wrong move big danger
If they ran to the 1500 the viper had it hands down
100% that was not expected. Should have done a dig to 1000 feet every time
Watching that viper shift into second and start pulling on the z was bliss
That viper driver was amazing. You can hear its right at the limit of traction for every single shift, and it is a car notorious for stepping out in second or third gear if you don't know what you're doing and crashing lol
I was proud of the viper for holding his own and almost getting that W!
The Viper got the W. I mean, a roll?? I've spent a lot of time street racing. First it's 1/4 mile or more, second it's a standing start.

Well in that 3rd race the tesla was a bit ahead and going a bit faster at the start and the viper still almost ran it down. The Z is pretty cool too

I can never forget when i was a kid, my dad and i were walking by this porter who was moving a 1st gen. Guy saw me eyeing the car, my dad spoke with him and he let me sit in it while he brought it around to the parking area. It was awesome.

The Zesla for sure dropped the throttle early on the roll race! The viper surprised me. Awesome racing, even awesomER cars. Viper should have won, it seemed to be the faster car.
I hope we see the viper back, he was so chill and that viper was surprisingly quick
The Viper guy is a really good driver, smooth fast shifts, quick reaction time. And good take off throttle management.
That Viper is clean. It’s nice to see something that is pretty much stock still run that hard.

That Z was the quietest burn out I’ve ever seen.. and viper dude can drive. I’ve never seen a viper been handled like that. They usually end up in a ditch or wrapped around something

Best race I've seen for ages. Two very different yet evenly matched cars and either driver was jumping the gun. And a stock Viper... it doesn't get much better than that.

The viper didn't even lose by much when it started pullin.
straight facts, but with the safety of the 370z and with the roll in race, I would choose having the Z as far as if I could own one. The viper would have definitely pulled much farther if they did longer pulls but definitely seeing the Z as a funner car to own/drive. Both amazing cars

I'm surprised the Zelsa can't get off the line. I have an electric van that snaps off the line! Should have instant torque. Must be a setting they need to configure.

Yep and first and last races (the bonus race) were both from digs and the viper won both. Vipers the real winner :)
Heads up is the only race that matters
Z clearly having traction issues, plus Viper takes the top end. This shows in the bonus race once the Z figured out how to launch better. If they wanted to optimize the Z for drag racing they'd go with a smaller lighter battery (i.e. sacrifice range) plus more rubber.

This is probably my favorite episode of this vs that so far. Cool modern conversion of a jdm icon, old school American v10, and the racers were both so chill and seemed genuinely excited to be there.
It seems so weird to see someone say old school American V10 😂. Like they are so much less common.

Both of those donuts were interesting to watch, you have the Zestla doing the quietest smoke show ever, and the Viper taking a walk in the part barely off idle with all of it's V10 bottom-end torque.

This was a lot closer than I thought it was going to be. Just looking at the cars and power plants I didn’t think the viper stood a chance. Dude launched it like a pro!

That Viper had great top end acceleration, I think the updated version of the Tesla Z that Throtl recently built (it has the performance pack on the EV motor now) may be slightly different result. Impressive mod to the 350z that's for sure
