My company uses both. It boils down to what the client wants. So being curious about PLCs I'm trying to see which would be good to start on. So thank you for the video.

In my industry Allen Bradley is mostly used in North America and Siemens is use in Europe. Other parts of the world is a mix. Most of it is determined by our customers. I program both AB and Siemens and I prefer the AB.

Yes, that's right, most industries choose equipment based on their own market. To be able to easily get after-sales service and maintenance
For this reason, Allen Bradley is used in the United States and Siemens in Europe

Since I'm closer to Europe than USA (Bosnia) I prefer using Siemens PLCs. Also, it's not easy to purchase AB in my country, so, I've decided to use Siemens.

As my experience with PLC, best PLC learning for starters is something like the Mitsubishi fake board form China, 18-20$/piece, learn from RS232, RS485, ADC, servo, stepper... etc. to the most complicated structures with Siemens, RA, ABB... in 3-5 years, believe me, learn from the most basic is the right way to learn anything and everything. Don't care the fancy things your colleagues brag about, mostly, they just do the "configuration" not the real "engineering", somedays, they will need your help as a hidden master.
