PLC Programming - Siemens vs Rockwell - Which is The Best for Beginner Programmers

I'm Brazilian, and Work with Siemens a Lot here, but I would like to learn about Rockwell Systems. This is an epic fight!!

Rockwell is actually pretty simple compared to Siemens in my opinion. I love Siemens but use Rockwell much more often. Let me know if I can help.

If rockwell would fix their scada and integrate factory talk into Studio it would be amazing! Dealing with any rockwell panelview tends to be an all day affair. very frustrating . We use Wonderware due to this fact alone.

Siemens one thousand years ahead Rockwell! Understanding each kind of function possibility and the theory about the data block (single instance and multi instance) is blowing mind! Once you change your mindset and instead of simply starting programming you first structure your application and apply FCs or FBs depending on the structure designed, you see the difference. Basically Germans structure the application first and Americans don’t.

I work with several senior engineers with LOTS of siemens experience and Rockwell as well. They like a few things about siemens but overall they do not like it at all. Just their thoughts.

He podido comprender y hacer modificaciones de programas en un SLC500, con muy poco entrenamiento. Sin embargo, de los SIEMENS no entiendo absolutamente nada y por lo que veo hacen lo mismo, pero complicando más las cosas

Entiendo, ¿qué es lo que crees que necesitas primero? ¿Es una barrera del idioma, no tener el software o un mentor? ¿Qué crees que necesitas primero?

@@LogixWorkshops bueno, si yo fuera a explicar como trabajar con SIEMENS, primero explicaría con detalle cómo descargar el TIA Portal. Segundo, explicaría cómo conectarme online con un PLC Siemens que ya tenga un programa determinado cargado, con la idea de revisar sus líneas de programas. Tercero, explicaría las instrucciones SIEMENS y además como modificar cualquier instrucción. Cuarto, explicaría como hacer un respaldo del programa que tenga el PLC. Por último, explicaría cómo hacer un programa desde cero y cargarlo en un PLC nuevo.
Es muy importante, y es un defecto en todos los vídeos que he visto, que amplien la pantalla y señalen con calma las partes del menú que se esten cliqueando.
