The plane starts yelling Bank Angle at 30° or more. Pilots try to avoid this, so the default bank angle set on the autopilot for takeoff is 25 degrees. In fog, always use autopilot!
In a plane you’re actually not going to feel the angle until either it’s extremely steep or something is majorly going wrong. This is because the lift from the wings is rotating with the plane, if that makes sense. So it makes it feel like gravity is always going straight towards the floor of the plane (this is kind of a shitty explanation but I’m not trying to write an essay)

@Salamander Fry which ironically kinda makes it more dangerous than ppl with less flight experience, experts get complacent easier
I literally cannot enjoy a flight without Xanax.
@@shack12319 if you expect that from a professional of any kind of job- then you really just wouldn’t trust anyone, could you?
@@Iwatoda_Dormthat's the thing. You cant!
hey man, im a student pilot (23 hrs C172), and for some reason i used to be afraid of flying (i think from that one flashback in metro 2033), simulators made me realize naval aviation was my passion i never knew i had, and while it might be too late for that, never too late to get your wings! i hope you decide to go through with your PPL!
Edit: figured id get buried underneath other comments, but since some people are seeing this; If you want to fly but think the only way is through the military or something else out of reach, i would really encourage you to look into flight training facilities around your nearest airports, you can schedule an intro flight without your student license or FAA medical and try it out!
That's awesome. I used to have a fear of flying but got through it as I got older. I have a similar feeling about simulators and have always wanted to get my foot in the door just for myself. Wish you the best on your studies & flying.
Bruh a scam thot bot literally stole your comment because your amount of likes
My high school had flight training as a science class. Everything except the actual in plane stuff.

Huge pile of Kudos to instructor! What a great bloke and teacher. Charlie did great job as well :)
Really appreciate the editing, this is one of the coolest things I've seen in a while! PERSONAL PILOT'S LICENSE WHEN, CHARLIE??
As a flight instructor with about 300 hours of flight time in a C-172S, I loved this instructor's way of teaching. He makes it fun, but also knows when to step in to save everybody's bacon ;) Charlie, I think you'd love learning to fly and I encourage you to take lessons at your local flight school and go for your PPL! Anyone that may be considering learning how to fly, do it, it's such a rewarding endeavor and the industry needs more pilots! Godspeed and happy flying future aviators! :)
I'm an aspiring pilot who's going to try and complete the ground school section this summer and go for my full PPL hopefully soon (next year or two!) I'm debating whether or not I want to try and make a career out of it and go for an ATP certificate. Besides the obvious "be ready to spend a lot" thing, what advice, if any, would you give to someone like myself?
Is it too late if I’m 24?
@@gleam6370 It's not too late unless you're blind, deaf or dead
An instructor with only 300 hours??!!
Sheesh, its 10000 hours for most careers to get a certification...no wonder I dont trust flying.
@@toastytoast1890 Do onlineground school first for the certificate/rating you want I recommend King Schools it would be cheaper than paying the instructor to cover ground…and ask lots of questions in the air and on the ground on subjects you don’t fully grasp best of luck 💪🏽
This video made me realize every flight I've ever been in, the pilots are extremely skilled as not once did I feel as if I was at a 45° angle or less.
Commercial pilots have thousands of hours of practice
The plane starts yelling Bank Angle at 30° or more. Pilots try to avoid this, so the default bank angle set on the autopilot for takeoff is 25 degrees. In fog, always use autopilot!
In a plane you’re actually not going to feel the angle until either it’s extremely steep or something is majorly going wrong. This is because the lift from the wings is rotating with the plane, if that makes sense. So it makes it feel like gravity is always going straight towards the floor of the plane (this is kind of a shitty explanation but I’m not trying to write an essay)
@@hunterreeves6525 I understood absolutely nothing, yet at the same time I thank you for not writing a essay as I most likely wouldn't read it, besides I don't have the intelligence to understand basic plane mechanics.
I bet Charlie felt like his brain was melting with all the information being thrown at him at once. Like trying to drink from a fire hydrant
Congrats!!! Facing your fears head on is a great way to grow as a person!!! Thanks for sharing your experience and you handled I soo well!!
I want to see a Charlie and flight simulator arc. Just imagine him having a full decked out flight simulator like his dad does with his iRacing
This would be a lot of fun for the stream. And role play as a pilot and chat is the passenger all vomiting to eachother
@@w3dgex the thing as a flight simmer if he ever goes to do something like this and wants to communicate with air traffic controller he will have to respect the ATC and learn the language which is not that easy but once you know its easy. But he just plays offline then there is no problem just fly high learn the plane its really easy to lear a plane
Watching this as a pilot is so weird but also in a way kind of gratifying getting Charlie’s acknowldgement
Why weird?
@@wm2922 Weird in multiple ways. One being that a very specific part of my life right now (flight sims for my career) showing up on a seemingly unrelated youtube channel. Another being that I never expected to watch Charlie attempt to do something I can relate to on a personal level.
I agree, it weird seeing niche shit that a small minority of people actually understand on a random UA-cam channel
cool
Lol the instructor quietly trimming out the aircraft as Charlie's hyperfocused. This guy is clearly a great teacher
Nice! I love flying! Me and my Dad are in process to build our own flight sim of a A320. Have everything purchased for panels and PC built. Can't wait to use!
My pilot fiancé says Charlie did pretty good, there were areas where he could have improved but there were areas where the instructor didn’t instruct him well enough and for that he can’t be faulted. Charlie did exceptionally well.
This guy is accomplishing every real life sidequest possible.
real
My farts are better than Charlie’s farts.

That instructor was great - perfect balance of humor and "hey this part I'm telling you about is really important"
I loved this! Do more stuff like this. Was interesting watching him nervous and joking around at first then he got motivated and focused on everything. 10/10
I love how the instructor makes Airplane jokes too. "Good luck, we're all counting on you."
As a professional pilot this is by far my favorite video from the Moist Man. It’s so awesome to see Charlie learn about how we pilots operate. Hope that fear of flying gets conquered my man. Love ya
Yeah apparently everyone in here is on track to some form of pilot training or is a professional (cough.. bvIIshlt.. cough).
@Bfkcjsbs Nsbcjc considering his view count a good number of them can be pilots.
@@meme13100 That or people are full of shlt, I'm not doubting that there isn't any in this comment section, but when 1 in every 4 comments are stating they're pros or in training seems like that view count ratio to pilots seems like bvIIshlt. Or i'm just over exaggerating and the pilot industry is just really saturated right now right?
@@Bfkcjscbsnjc see my friend I dont watch his videos regularly but when I saw the title I clicked to watch since I’m a student pilot 😂 we wanna see anything aviation related
@@samer3li844 like I said I don't doubt that there are really people here in involved in some way with aviation school or teaching. I just don't think the the amount of people claiming so on this video actually are. You didn't make a separate post boasting about your aviation credentials while stating in some fashion you stay up to date with Moist's content like the original poster here right? If that's the case then you're gravy.
This was an incredible experience. I was heavily invested into it even watching through a computer monitor. I have to try one of these for myself

@@nickmallonee4549 that would be awesome
Next he has to play DCS. He is a gamer, it's only the next logical progression.
He was really treating Charlie like he's the special kid on his special day
Why is it so heartwarming to see charlie trying out different things
I used to be terrified of the dark (we had an armed intrusion when i wasnt even 2 years old yet) and i conquered it by walking into our field at night and staying out there for hours, its very true when they say that you have to face your fears to conquer them
I used to be terrified of pooping. I conquered it by not giving a shit.
@@bradclooney69 LMAO
How does one conquer heights. I tried doing Rollercoasters, going up tall buildings and still afraid
@Roger my mate when bridge swinging and now hes learning to skydive
@@underworld323 I got rid of my fear of heights by skydiving.
Loved the flight instructor's Airplane! reference right before Charlie's landing. "Good luck, we're all counting on you."
What a cool experience and a good way to work towards overcoming your fears!
I've been watching aviation documentaries and stuff. I'll never be a pilot, but it's always super cool to see this stuff and to watch Charlie learn about the plane and conquer his fear of flying. It's super inspirational as I also have my own fears that I'm trying to face. It tells me that I'm the one in control even if the process to recovering from that fear that is small / step by step.
I don't have a fear of flying but watching this gave me extreme anxiety lol.
I was waiting for Charlie to skydive with a selfie stick and drop the plane into a mountain like a real alpha wizard
Charlie personally flying all of moist esports to their competition would go insanely hard
I think this is the first ever edit i ever seen in Charlies video and its a freaking love heart for holding hands🤣😂
I totally thought Charlies dad was going to be the flight instructor. This guy is almost as good I suppose.
I'm no pilot, but I've flown a Cessna when I was in the Civil Air Patrol. I'm also familiar with the techniques and mechanics of flying. Very cool to see charlie do this, I'd like to see him do something like the combat flight sim at the smithmisonian national air and space museum
I'm no pilot, but I've flown a plane
@@RobertsHandle lmao
@@RobertsHandle Well, if there's only two onboard the Cessna, some pilots give the person sitting on the right seat the permission to control the plane. That counts as flying lol.
Genuinely really proud of Charlie. I see this kinda like an extension of him facing his OCD and fears in the past. It can be really difficult and I love seeing these wholesome moments
Super cool instructor, he was very polite. Awesome stuff Charlie
So cool to see Charlie doing this as someone who is working towards a PPL myself. Glad he enjoyed it!
Those flight sims are almost EXACTLY the real thing, it's crazy to think that (obviously with a lot of help) but his first time he was able to land it safely... maybe not elegantly but those passengers would've made it home safe
It’s kind of liking watching a father teach his oblivious son how to ride a bike
Seeing charlie and the boys doing cool stuff like this is awesome, would love to see them scuba diving or wind tunnel/sky diving or something else adventurous and fun.
I genuinely smiled when they touched down. Good work Charlie!
I used to be really afraid of flying too. Then, because of my disability, I couldn’t drive far distances but I wanted to be able to visit my best friend who lives a good 8-10 hours away. So I slowly got through my fear by flying with someone, a shorter distance, then alone and then farther distances. It took a while but I can now fly without having a panic attack before!
i’m proud of you! it’s a huge thing to get over fears like that.
Good shit dude
Happy for you my dude
That instructor was awesome. He was very convincing when he kept throwing up lmao 7:06. Good on you to tackle conquering your fear of flying. I used to be terrified of it myself when I was younger. It was such a wonderful feeling to get past that fear. Much respect to the pilots out there.
?????
I was so nervous at the landing.... so relieved you're safe 🙏
Thanks Charlie for this learning tutorial
Loved how zoned in Charlie was to the glideslope screen, utilizing his broad video game knowledge and skillset.
So I kinda love this video, because I am two things: Someone who's afraid of flying, and someone with a hideous amount of flight simulator experience. I can't say putting a thousand hours into flying airliners on your PC cured my fear of flying, but it did help me appreciate just how incredible flying is.
I wonder if flying in VR would be more effective in conquering the fear
@@tielessin I don't need it! I have found meditation and breathing exercises have allowed me to travel confidently. Fears aren't things you 'conquer'; you learn to vibe with them instead.
I got over it by consuming massive amounts of air crash media. Mayday, Black Box Down, all that shit. It boggles the mind just how much redundancy and margin for error exists in modern aviation.
You did a great job charlie! Also shoutout to the co-pilot he seems like a cool dude!!
As a fellow pilot I am honoured that Charlie has used his godly arts to perform on this simulator
The charts 3:44 basically is like a highway in the sky u have to follow, this one’s called STAR (Standard terminal arrival route) it’ll guide u to the Approach chart for landing
this video genuinely made me smile to see Charlie look like a kid learning how to ride a bike with his dad.
I like that Charlie is trying out new things and uploading videos about them. A nice break from the usual commentatory videos :)
This may not have completely gotten rid of your fear, but we’re so proud of you for facing it!
The teacher was fantastic. Funny, laid back, calm and just a great flight instructor. Reminded me of my dad. Great job charlie!!
Shout out to the instructor! He seemed really nice and that he genuily enjoys teaching commercial piloting. And complimenting youre good observstion at going back to 1800 power , traits of a good teacher.
That looked dope, I would love to try my hand at that sort of thing
Good on, tackling your phobias. Ive tried the same and its so mentally challenging

Oh to see a comment section without fucking bots
@Xboxfanatic1999 just report everyone you see. It helps.
