I've had the Gourmia 8 quart air fryer for over a year. Best value I could find and it has performed flawlessly. The bottom tray is held snugly by the silicone "feet" to keep it from scratching the bottom. I never use the tray as I use foil pies pans from pies as a liner. I had a big stack I saved over the years. I also purchased a set of stacking racks for my pressure cooker and use a pie pan and one or two of those racks stacked on top of the pie pan to make "one pan meals". Just make sure the food that can drip is on the bottom. The fryer keeps running after the time to cool it off and to vent entrained oils - stays cleaner longer.

I have had the Costco 6 qt. Gourmia for over a year. It works great for everything I have cooked from potato hash brown patties, baked biscuits and roasted whole chicken. For your hard to remove tray just bend the feet a tad. Also I purchased an extra tray from Gourmia. This fryer is a great buy!

Cathy, you have taught me sooooo much. love youand your beautiful family. Two tips, add a little corn starch to watery sauces like teriyaki for more of a glaze on your meatballs. Second, microwave whole acorn squash for five minutes. Can do same for kobocha or butternut squash. Becomes easy to cut

I bought the Gourmia from Costco on a Black Friday special, and it has been great. I cook all messy foods on a piece of aluminum foil and bend the sides up around the food without touching any food for about 0.25 inches, and it takes about one minute to clean up after throwing away the aluminum foil. IF I am cooking, e.g. multiple sandwiches that day, I just reuse the same aluminum foil since it maintains its shape.

That's what I do in my conventional oven Nancy - I like to call them my tin foil little boats. But being single, and with electricity prices going up daily in the UK, I am now looking at buying an air fryer. I am down to two choices - the Gourmia and the Cosori. The basket in the Cosori actually looks dated but people seem to rave about how useful it is, unless the handle snaps off... which seems a tad too common. Sorry, ranting away.
Glad that I am not the only one making little 'boats' out of tin foil.

This is a really nice guide for beginners not complicated at all, and most of all cheap! Before I watched this video I did the pizza but without toasting the bread first, it got really soggy but the toppings made up for it, now I will toast the bread a little bit before, thanks!

Thank you for that review! My Father's Day present this year (OK, so I bought it myself, but my wife picked it up at Target for me) was one of your Gourmia air fryer's li'l sisters, the Gourmia GAF556. I actually chose it based on Consumer Reports' favorable review of the larger GAF686 after learning that it has the same control panel and feature set that mine has, but the GAF556 is officially a 5 qt model, which I felt would be more right-sized for my family of 3.
As of right now, I've used it twice. The first time was on Father's Day, to make French fries because, well, our daughter loves French fries, and her insistence on making them during the heat of the summer was one of the main reasons I wanted an air fryer. The second time was tonight, when I made chicken schnitzel, which came out beautifully without the mess that skillet or deep frying makes. (For those not familiar, chicken schnitzel is a variation on breaded, fried chicken.) I had plenty of flour & spice mix, egg and bread crumbs left over, and we had about 2/3 of a 1lb salami bullet in the fridge, so, inspired by some of your other videos I've seen, I decided to have some more air fryer fun with it. I sliced up the salami into a dozen 1/2-inch thick slices, breaded 7 of them, came up with temp and time estimates that turned out to be spot on, and made salami schnitzels out of them. They came out very tasty, and my wife came back for seconds even though she had eaten earlier and wasn't hungry. I decided I wanted the rest of the salami grilled, so I used my fryer's Broil function, set the time for 5 minutes and the temperature for 400F, and let 'em cook. I turned them at the halfway mark, but that probably wasn't necessary, my slices were a little thinner than chicken nuggets and there were only 4 of them in the fryer. But it was a good excuse to check and make sure they wouldn't overcook.
Your observations about your Gourmia air fryer apply 100% to the GAF556. The basket is harder to pull out than it should be, and that bottom tray, which is the exact same design that mine has, is a little fiddly to put in and certainly hard to take out when the fryer is hot. (I have a silicone oven glove that should allow me to grip it by the center holes to extract it a bit more easily.) But otherwise, the fryer works well, it's very easy to clean, and I'm happy with it so far.
Thank you very much for making these videos. They really help me get my creative juices - as well as the food's juices - flowing.

I want to “roast” baby Yukon Gold potatoes and yellow onions, with, hopefully, all getting caramelized. Do baby potatoes need to be peeled and cut, and how much sooner should they go in before the onions? If I don’t have a recipe, how do I determine what temp, and for how long certain foods should cook? Sorry…I’m a 72 yo non-cook who just got a 3.7 qt. Cosori (red!), and have thus far only used it for reheating. ☺️ But I’m ready to run with this Cosori!! Got your digital cookbook, but also want the hard copy you just showed. Thank you, Cathy! Two things: I’m surprised you didn’t cook the pasta in your instant pot. Plain pasta is pretty simple in the IP, no draining required. The second thing is just a bit of advice: Step up your knife game! I’m not saying run out & buy Wüsthof Trident knives (although they are an excellent investment) but Amazon sells Mercer knives, which are used by many cooking schools for very reasonable prices. Personally, I’m fond of Asian style knives, & survived for many years with a Wüsthof 7 inch Santuku knife (best Xmas gifts ever!) as my only cooking knife. Dull knives are what cut you, not sharp ones.

If you take off the little rubber bumpers on the rack it is much easier to get in and out.

I was on one of your other videos i stumbled on while researching air fryers and was going to ask if you heard of these costco models and what you think about them..and then something told me to look up your other videos before commenting and sure enough landed here. Very informative and useful channel. Just awesome. Subbed!

My Gourmia air fryer handle broke off. I replaced it with the one you have been using it for your demonstrations because the basket is replaceable. Gourmia has no replacements. The motor still works and I keep super gluing it on. I like the Cosourl..

Try Gorilla Glue super glue for plastic. I got it at Lowe’s. Excellent results, should work well for your Gourmia handle.

The prices where you are blow my mind. The sausage would be $9, baby carrots $3, ground chicken $7, mozzarella cheese when not on sale $5, pasta sauce $2.50 where I am.
