- In previous videos Andrew from Mustang Lifestyle has come by the shop to get some much needed VMP upgrades to boost his horsepower numbers on his new (to him) GT500.
In this video Justin tests just how much the VMP Gen3R picks up over the stock trinity supercharger on this 2014 Shelby GT500. Watch along to see what gains are picked up with this modification and what is in store next for Andrew's GT500.

That boost curve really starts climbing towards the end of that pull! I'm used to seeing PD stuff tapering off towards the top of the rpm range. Times like this makes me wish I would've maybe kept my 04 Cobra, swapped to this blower, and swapped an auto into it.

I feel I’ve been dooped again...the trinity was not on boostane nor did it have 20* of timing. I appreciate VMP’s innovation but sure would have been nice to see a fair comparison. Regardless amazing job!
They are set smoothing to 0 instead of 5 so the peak number would look higher. Smoothing should be set to 5 to make it easier to compare to everyone else.
Well they put boostane for basically safety more than likely. But if you think a 2.3 Trinity is even close to a gen 3r then you should think again.
The gen3r made around 740-750rwhp with the 93 timing curve

Wow..plenty of power. I'd invest in re-doing the motor first before trying to get those numbers (like a better crankshaft, rods, pistons, cams). Until then you will have to keep your rpm down..
Now he can hang with that Procharged green camaro that gapped him well maybe he might need that 24 pulley cuz that car was fast
I would've loved to see the power the car would've made with the "same" boostane with the trinity blower. No doubt that the VMP blower probably makes more, but HOW MUCH MORE????? Hard to do a comparison video when the variables are different. 🤷🏾♂️

Yes to boostane in every tank.
Can easily get 850 Rwhp with a stock Trinity built motor ...... I don’t see the point in spending 4500$ to go from 2.3 to 2.6 ..:

Joseph Webb efficiencies mostly bc you can make 850 on stock trinity but it’s going to be maxed out or close when 800 on the gen 3r is so light load for that blower
Yeah, for 90% of people the 2.3L would be enough. But if he has plans to push it into the 4 digit RWHP range comfortably with a stronger rotating assembly, the Gen 3R is definitely the way to go.
@ Then you're just spending extra money on looks and name, not actually taking advantage of the full potential of the blower's improvements over lesser models.
Wow that poor old unwanted 2.3 TVS would fit nicely on my 2009 GT500 for us "Old Men" Shelby owners that are satisfied with a lowly 675-690WHP Shelby.....any chance it's for sale as a trade in?

I have one of those Hercules cordless impacts and you cant beat it for $99. I rebuilt my deck (all new floor boards and rails) and didnt have to charge it...

@@VMPPerformanceTV I'm mostly kidding. I've owned DeWalt when I was on jobsites, but since I've moved on from that profession, and I'm never too far from a charger, I've currently own a couple HF battery tools. Also the Bauer Battery Ratchet is very interesting as an alternative to my 80 Gallon 2 stage compressor and air ratchet. Just don't watch any +AvE BOLTR reviews, he'll tell you they don't have the skookum to get the job done ;-)
What octane is the fuel with the boostane?
I am on the fence here. Do I toss 10+k into my 11 gt for gen3, injectors, headers... Or go Dare I say Porsche.

About 800rwhp is the max we recommend with e85 or boostane
