  • Hi, I’m Sylvia, an inclusive community song leader, and harmony is my first love. I recorded a harmony tutorial for this beautiful song by Crosby, Stills and Nash because it was requested by members of my “Sing Again” community choir in Parksville, BC, and I love the harmonies and how they weave together in the second verse. My dog Harlow makes an appearance in the alto frame.
I’ve highlighted each harmony part one by one, so you can pick your favourite part and practice it along with me. Learning by ear takes a lot of practice! Once you know your part really well, for a challenge, go back to the beginning and sing it with all three parts!
In my Sing Again group, the harmonies I teach are not set in stone, they are guidelines and singers are encouraged to find their own harmonies if they feel it. With 25 people in the room, it can sound so beautifully imperfect!
If you found this video helpful, and maybe used it to sing in harmony with your friends or even your choir, please let me know in the comments!

Thanks Jon! Yes they were beautiful songs and harmonies. In fact, it’s hard to separate melody from harmony, all the parts are wonderful!

The instruction is in the separate harmony tracks that are presented. If you have suggestions on how I could do it differently, please let me know! Thanks
