Just watched this again and I realized why I like watching your tutorials so much. Not only do we learn how to make great cards but we also learn some great uses for products such as when you went to color the leaves green, you took the area that the leaves had come out of and put it on your grip mat and then put the leaves back inside and could color them without them skittering all over. These things comes so naturally to you, at least from my perspective. The more we understand all our equipment the better cards we can make. I do have to confess that so many times when you go to cut something with your cutter, it looks like you are going to chop off a finger or thumb! Hope Not! Have a great day!
I don’t comment often enough, but it’s mostly because I’m anxious to get to your next vid! I so enjoy your tutorials! Thank you for sharing your talents and fabulous ideas with us! Teena
Thank you for launching from your first design into a second for this tutorial, Natalie; hearing your thought process helps me know what things to think about when trying to adapt one of your designs for my own purpose. 😊
Lovely cards. Pink then red are my favorite colors so I go for the coral first and I do love butterflies as well, not that I don't love roses. Thanks for the ideas.
Funny how we associate colors. I think the blue/green one looks unwelcoming like cold winter snow and the apricot looks like lovely spring flowers and sunshine.
Love them both but I always gravitate towards blue/ green colours. But that may be because I’m from Australia and l prefer anything on the cool palette. We had a max temp of just over 42 degrees C (or 108deg F) today.
Both are beautiful as both are my favorite colors. I do think trimming them shorter was a good idea, even if it's out of Nestor. I feel they are more balanced. But that's just me. Wonderful cards and one I do want to try.
Found online one image of a 6" x 3" embossing mat from Walmart. Image only no link and as in Oz it doesn't help. I might get it I think.. save s bit longer. And cut down an old around edges 5x7 mat see how that goes if Want an embossing mat after using it. My Cuttlebug is worn out after 14yrs, was my mainstay. Do have a younger big shot which has taken over. Just keep cuttlebug for its purpose made dies. I've an A4 electric machine which is very good by courture creations. Electric machines are relatively new here. I just find big shot is cumbersome would be handy to have the mini. You can get cheap ones on Temu but prefer reliable brands. Never bought there nor likely to. Thought you'd like to know it seems embossing mats are available if hard to find it, had gemini logo on it ..
Like them both... but a query Natalie, re mini Gemini... when you cut with it, you don't seem to emboss with a rubber mat afterwards. Yet I know you like well embossed card. Does it cut and emboss dies in one hit? Very curious. 🤔
I find that most of my dies don't need an extra step to emboss the pattern if they have one. If extra embossing is needed, I use my cuttlebug with the rubber mat. There isn't a rubber mat for the Gemini Mini that I'm aware of. :)
@@nbcascards thanks, had wondered if narrowness made embossing less necessary because helps when putting on side of bug and big shot etc. I have been pondering buying one but not sure I can justify the expense and that mat omission is a put off. However perhaps I could cut one to fit... if room in machine dimensions?? ..
Was thinking is opening thick enough for an embossing mat and shim. Might look online to see if others manage it. It seems if need extra machinery for embossing to defeat the purpose. But as most don't need it maybe still okay. Thanks for your patience. Might be do maths of opening and thickness of plates somewhere too. ❤😅🙏💙🙏

Thanks, Lynne! I can understand liking cool colours when you live in a hot climate. I think I'd melt in those temperatures! ;)
