    I started with the G&G A- Game 5 with no issues (I have sensitive skin and rosacea), then up to their A- Game 10. I'm hoping they will bring out an equivalent to the new TO 0.2% as I'd rather give my money to G&G rather than a company owned by Estee Lauder.
    Thank you for reviewing this Karen. I'm glad it's working for you and not causing irritation 😊

    I love this and I'm on my third tube. Hopefully they'll bring out a 30ml version. Obviously it would be twice the price, but that's fine, and would mean less wastage due to fewer tubes. If I had to mention one slight negative about using retinal, it's that my pillows get stained and I have to wash them more often. x

    Hi Karen quite a few years ago I used retinol and worked my way up to tretinoin at 0.5%. Then my skin went mental with menopause and my rosacea became so much worse I couldn’t use the tretinoin any more. Over the thirty months of consistent use I noted pores looked refined, firmer skin and thicker/plumper skin- I loved the results tbh. However nothing is worth having a really sore face so I switched to azelaic acid from tretinoin. My skin and pores still looked clearer and more refined with smooth skin. I did try using retinaldehyde (retinal) for a while but my rosacea was freaking out again even starting very slowly. I’m planning to try again and have bought the BofJ retinaldehyde eye cream to use on the face as a starting point (it’s low strength).
    As to the ordinary this is obviously an alternative to the very expensive medik8 20 which was released within the last couple of years. For those tolerating the 0.1 retinaldehyde there wasn’t an affordable step up before, so it is a really good release from them. Best wishes x

    I’m on my second bottle of the ordinary retinal. I’m really liking it , it is a Small bottle but lasts a long time just one pump per application. I’ve been using the geek and gorgeous retinal on my neck as it’s a cheaper product. X

    Hi Karen, hope you’re well. I started using mine 2 wks ago and I think it feels the same as G&G, at the start I thought it might be creamier/silkier but not sure now. I don’t get irritation from retinal, I couldn’t get on with tret either, in fact I thought it made me look older but that may have been the dryness crinkling my face! The only thing I’m finding with TO one is I’m using more than one pump to cover face and neck where 1 pump seemed more product with the G&G so I think I’ll get through it quicker which isn’t great considering the extra cost. Time will tell if it makes more of a difference than the weaker G&G xx

    I’m using tretinoin but I use this on the nights when my skin is more dry or sensitive. It’s so nice !

    Good to know and I’m definitely going to try it when i finish up my current stash. Interesting about your reaction to retinol, I’ve been using Medik8 retinal10 and G+G Agame for ages but received a No7 0.3% retinol in a GWP and on trying it I’ve got dry skin and peeling…so clearly even though it’s a lower dose it’s more irritating than retinal which I’ve heard other people say too.

    I use this retinal also. I put it on my neck and it really reacted to it! Itchy and red. I know your neck is thinner skin but I’ve always put other retinals on the neck.. I’ve used it for 3 weeks only so time will tell 😊

    I only recently learned you can speed up videos, quite often do it, especially if not that interesting, I can be impatient. I never speed yours up though, you talk at a good rate, and are usually interesting!

      Awww, I'm so chuffed, thanks! I've been told many times I talk too fast, and also that I'm boring and need to get to the point lol, so this is lovely :0) x

      @@TheBeautyMaverick Definitely not boring. It is nice to have a UK youtuber, who covers a wide range of relevant products. But also I enjoy the broad chit chat about anything in your daily life, and you are down to earth and relatable.

    Thanks for the review, it was interesting to hear how you are finding it so far. It may have been helpful to know how many nights a week you are using it in order to calculate how long it will last and whether it will prove to be value for money x

    I’m something of a novice when it comes to retinal/retinol and it completely baffles me 🙈! I’m using Medik8 and have worked my way up to 10. I can’t say that have really seen much difference so should I try something else or keep the faith and move to the 20 when this tube finishes?

    • @TheBeautyMaverick
      @TheBeautyMaverick  Місяць тому

      It depends on how long you have been using it - I'd say 6 months to a year minimum, probably longer, before you see any results. If you have no side effects at all, no irritation etc, then I'd personally say move to 20 (same as this one I reviewed i.e. 0.2%). Hope that helps! x

      @@TheBeautyMaverick thank you! Yes absolutely! I’ve been using it for a couple of years now and at 67 I’d like to get a bit more help although my biggest problem is sun damage. I live in Greece and have done for 40 years so always use 100 spf as in the past have had hyperkeratosis.

    Hi hon - I had thought you had dyed your hair 😅 in the video over on life as a zebra I could really see the red that you have sometimes mentioned yes as you say it looks different colours in different settings sometimes brown or if you film in your living room in natural light it often looks dark blonde like mine - well whatever the setting whatever the device- it always looks gorgeous- and its always lovely to see you 😊👌💜 xxx

    Hi Karen 0.1% is stronger than 0.2% Retinol 🤗

    • @bjmehl2009
      @bjmehl2009 Місяць тому +3

      No, pretty sure .2 is stronger.

    • @TheBeautyMaverick
      @TheBeautyMaverick  Місяць тому +2

      Yes, 0.1% retinal is stronger than any Retinol because Retinol needs more conversions in the skin to get to Retinoic acid. x

  • @karenxxx1025
    @karenxxx1025 Місяць тому

    I thought the G&G 0.1 retinal would be stronger than the 0.2 TO retinal
    Im confused now and completely doubting my maths skills 😂

    • @TheBeautyMaverick
      @TheBeautyMaverick  Місяць тому +1

      It really is confusing cause the G&G Retinal 0.1% IS stronger than TO Retinol 0.2% they used to do but not the TO Retinal 0.2% lol. x
