I have an opuntia macrocentra, if I removed the needles from it would this harm the plant?
It should be fine (they're there to defend against predators in habitat, right?) but I'd always advocate keeping them as is. Have you considered a spineless species such as opuntia ellisiana?
Realy nice plants but plastic fantastic pots makes it look like a shop not a collection and top dressing plastic is allway fun to see but i wish i could find square teracotta pots easy here to avoid root rot in the plastic
I suppose that's the compromise I make to squeeze more pots in a small greenhouse - though I'd love to find square terracotta pots! 😄
