He also approves if you say the 2nd one where you say that there are other people that care for him- if he cares for them too (personally, I prefer this option because it feels more grounded to me). I grew fond of his development, calling you "naive" if you lean towards good, but in the end, it's that same trait that shows him that there's true camaraderie and love when he gets to experience something so sweet that's so opposite to his past experiences. And throughout his story on this route, he does get to care for other people and they get to care for them, judging from party conversations and showing concern to those that have nothing to do with his goal.
@@oceanicGrimalkin well, he did have compassion and kindness to others beaten out of him extremely brutally. I find it interesting that if you play a nice, supportive protag who makes kind choices, by Act 3 he stops disapproving them, and even starts being kind, especially towards kids, himself, like he feels it's finally SAFE for him to show kindness.
I believe this is one of my favourite interactions with Astarion! There is a depth to this moment and the various dialogue choices that I really enjoy. And to be honest, I am fangirling over the fact that he specifically mentions the wish to keep both himself and Tav safe. It makes his desire for power more multi-layered, as it emphasizes how he connects being safe and free with being powerful. I also REALLY love how a good-aligned Tav gets to hear his opinion of them, that he recognizes we do care about him, all while offering the chance to encourage him that there can and will be other people who will care about him, too. I just appreciate how the game offers the chance to show that a good-aligned Tav isn't afraid to challenge him on his ideas AND is not forcing a co-dependent relationship on him either.
Excellent points ! This scene is So well done and i feel is very important to your romance with him ❤️ This has become my most favourite scene with him,not only does he want to get himself safe but also Tav. He sees how special a good Tav is and how much we care for him.
I love this scene, really shows his character development. In act 1 he thinks Tav is being naive and kindness is just a silly thing. "Petting bunnies" and so on. But now he appreciates them for being kind, maybe even admires them.
Such a sweet scene! People say that it's bad to try to fix him, but I think it's not about fixing, it's about to show him that he can be free and happy without being ascended and without losing part of his personality 🥺
Yes ! Exactly ! All he needed was to feel safe, free and loved. Ascendant Astarion is not the man we know ,he is Cazador 2.0 I don't know how others can find that ending better for him ,yes he can walk in the sun but he looses himself and becomes a monster 😞
@aranellavellan yes yes and yes! Vampires in dnd can't love, they can't feel the way before becoming a vampire :( so you are right, it's not him anymore
Exactly this. Lol some people really DO need someone to show them there are better ways of doing things, and of thinking. It’s not fixing him, it’s guiding him and showing him what he could be. I really hate that people see it as someone only wanting him because we can fix him, when in fact it’s because he is a good person, deep down, if you show him the potential that he can be one. He needs someone to believe that, because he doesn’t believe it himself.
And this is whay makes Ascendant Astarion kill me every time. Cause he genuinely means this. He doesnt want the power just to hoard it, he wants it because hes scared. Scared of dying. Scared of being under someone else's control again. Scared of loosing Tav. No mattwe how reprehensible he becomes, everything stems from him just wanting to protect the little bit of happiness and freedom hes gained.
Yeah, and actually, well, he's right. In all the words the powerfull ones and their closest ones are the most protected ones most of the time, if they play their cards right.
Ugh, I love this scene so much. Especially if when he talks to you earlier about being "naive" in Act 2, he says, "Well, I just mean you have a big heart," him bringing up Tav's heart (kindness) here is a nice callback. I did want to comment on one thing as far as triggering this scene goes: I'm pretty sure you can get both spawn encounters, this one and the earlier flophouse one. The playthrough I'm following they got both. I read it was you had to rent a room in a certain inn to get this one here (I forget the name). Not sure I've ever seen anyone say you have to skip one scene or the other, but maybe that was something that was addressed in updates? Either way, far as I know skipping the flophouse or not has nothing to do with triggering this scene, and it's fine if you don't care about skipping one or the other, I'd just hate to think of anyone to feel like they have to pick one or the other (unlike the two versions of the confession).
Your Welcome 😊 It does take ages to trigger 🫤 to get this scene , - Do Not talk to the other spawn in the Flop House Tavern as you enter Wyrms Crossing.
@@aranellavellan Oooooh! That's where I went wrong then. I had heard someone say the scene triggers after speaking with them so I spoke to them. I'll have to go back at some point and try again. Thank you!
Shouldn't you be able to get both though? I read it was when you rent a room in a specific tavern (I forget the name). You can still talk to the two in the flophouse.
You get this scene if you do not find and talk to the other spawn in the Flop House tavern when you first enter Wryms Crossing. It does take a while to trigger though. Just keep long resting while in the city.

The scales across your forehead, is that part of an outfit or is it a character creation section I missed? I wanna be scaley, but not always a dragonborn
Again I already commented on this so not trying to be annoying but (unless this was the case in earlier versions before updates?) I just love the fact that he approved when tav said something so "naive" about the world being a wonderful place. He wants to believe it too T^T
I know, I noticed that. Like he loves the fact that she believes enough in him that he can find that
I think it's more the "home" part, as MC kind of implies that Astarion can have a home with them, and that's what'll make the world a wonderful place.

When see the whole Astarion romance video?
Omg what is his outfit called?? Where can I get it?❤
You can buy these outfits in the city,a store called Karms Garms along Wyrms Crossing
The scales across your forehead, is that part of an outfit or is it a character creation section I missed? I wanna be scaley, but not always a dragonborn
You get the facial scales as the Draconic Sorcerer class.
They are customizable with a few different shapes and colors to choose from👍🙂
