I'll always give it to Kanye. Read about him before he was famous... Every mainstream rapper and producer called him a nerd, and would have their people make sure he didn't start rapping and shit. He would always say to people, "This will be a hit, this is where music should go... When he spit a verse from Jesus Walks... Everyone told him he didn't know anything and to shut up.. He was right. He's always been right. Now! No one's gonna tell him shit about what he should do.. They were always wrong before. So, regardless of the crazy and the celebrity. He's gonna do him because that's the way he got to the top. Gotta respect that.
This beat is a 10. I remember when this first came out I went and bought the album immediately. Late registration is still my fav but this album is right there too
Lost In Vegas loving this channel! I got some bangers I'd love for y'all to review in time lol. Songs like Biggie's Niggas Bleed, Tupac's I Ain't Mad Atcha, Pusha T and Hov's Drug Dealers Anonymous etc...I can keep going haha! Keep up the good work!
I have always maintained that this album, Kanye's first, is a top-5 all-time hip-hop album. It wasn't just killer after killer but it came at the height of the bullshit "bling rap" era. Bling rap from broke dudes pretending not to be broke and the tail end of gangster rap from non-gangsters was still all that came out of the mainstream. Then this hit. A dude with a backpack and an opening track saying "drug dealing just to get by". It was what the genre needed. He'll forever be a legend if only for this album (even tho he's made a ton of other amazing music). EDIT: haha, I paused to write the above at the 1 minute mark. 20 seconds later you guys say exactly what I wrote! Thanks for seeing the truth. Rap was 90% garbage when this broke.
Kanye is awesome glad he didn't die in the car accident! This song is amazing if your not moving your head & feeling this beat then you appreciate music 🎶! Kanye is pure talent you can play this song over & over it doesn't get old. I blast this in my car ....
Man I am LOVING the enthusiasm y'all bring to the reaction/review also the in-depth analysis not just from a lyrical standpoint but beats etc which you don't really get from other reaction vids out there. Real talk keep up the good shit guys!!
College dropout album will forever be one of my favorites from Kanye. Just the fact that this song in every aspect being lyrics, production, storytelling, etc. definitely a legendary masterpiece. Like seriously even though if you don't fuck with Kanye as a person ( he be buggin sometimes like when he ditched his concert after ranting lol ) you can't deny the fact that he was one of the revolutionaries in hip-hop that changed the game and he earned that respect and gets credit where credit is due because of his talent. Amazing Reaction/Review Lost In Vegas also I could tell George wanted to keep pausing it more near the end and I really didn't mind cuz it was entertaining lmao.
College Dropout is one of my favourite rap/hip hop albums ever made, I was 7 when it came out and my dad found the album in a work vehicle in 2005 a year after it came out and he played it in our old car so much and this album made me fall in love with rap 💯
I believe this dropped in 03 I remember living in Elizabeth New Jersey listening to this thinking it was the most impactful song of the year yet we’re we’re only half way into the year. I played it so much, it really spoke to me.
Heard this one on my way home and I broke down crying thinking of all the ones who lost their lives with Kobe in that accident. Them kids man. Damn....
I smiled so much watching this. Between nostalgia for the joint as well as the fact that ya'll are the only reactioners on youtube that you can really see enjoy and appreciate the music while also breaking it down. Props!
I'm fairly new to this channel but I am appreciating it to such a high extent. Your thoughts and inputs are sooooooo grasping to hear I swear. Thank you for actually having things to say, it's honestly so refreshing to hear👌👌👌👌
Kanye is a genius. Extreamly talented. Ego aside, I love him. Like Prince, P Funk & MJ he has crossed the line to push music and Hip Hop to a new level. He is the type of artist I would love to work with and why I have learned to respect and love Hip Hop. His production is top of the line, just a great musician. Yes, I said musician. If you think rap artist are not musicians you need to sit in on a session and it will change your mind. Much Love! How about some P Funk? Or maybe some old school rap like PE or Bone Thugs?
Only reaction chanel that analyzes properly. Love your intellect & knowledge, as much as your personalities. Have just subscribed (coming from someone who doesn't often subscribe). 👍
Finally!! Yes thank you!! I love this album. College dropout has to be one of your top 5 best albums. I don't care who you are. This is a classic. I feel like this WAS Kanye. Before his mom died he was a beast on the track and then unfortunately when she passed you'll notice he turned into a lot of the things he rapped about hating in a lot of other songs. Great video! Thanks guys!
I was in 10th grade when this song dropped. Rapping w/ his mouth wired shut, I was obsessed w/ this damn song. You guys pointed out how young blacks like myself didn’t come from a troubled past had someone to relate to.College Dropout is my favorite album. Awesome review you guys!🙏🏿🙌🏿
Even if it took me some time in my life to really appreciate rap music, this song blew my mind when i heard it for the first time. It's extremely well produced and it just makes me want to dance, now i listen to lots of rap and i often feel inspired by it.
I don't know, I think I like the concept and the story behind the song more than the song itself. Kanye has made a variety of songs that can be considered better than this, even on the same album. Also, he didn't rap this when his jaw was wired shut, he had recovered, but he intentionally slurred his delivery to sound like that
So psyched you guy gave a shout out to the legend herself and gave some love to the skillful and well though-out sampling. Love the channel, keep it going, y’all.
I still love CDs...but I'm 40 so.... I will have to look for this CD. Reminds me of older rap. I love hip hop from the 1990s like A Tribe Called Quest, Heavy D, etc. This sounds good too. Never listened to Kanye West before.
Kanye is my favorite music artist and I've listened to all of his albums at least 4 times all the way through. You guys should definitely do some songs from his later albums
i was never a fan of kanye after this album but i have mad respect for this album and especially this song. not only is he story telling hes got fire bars throughout it
Happy to have come across this review. Loved this song when it first came out and still do. I am so glad I found your channel by watching Chris Stapleton reviews. The thoughtful critique had me hooked and I've been binge watching ever since, not as a fan, but as a supporter 😉. I love the pure joy Ryan expresses when he is drawn to a song. The excitement is infectious. And George, when you take us to school presenting the background a lyric is referencing is sexy as hell. Your face ain't bad either, but that brain. Wooooweeee. Long winded statement to say you both are appreciated and a lot of fun to watch. Keep it up.
I never listened to the song this was based on, like holy shit I've been missing out. You guys doing a good job making me listen to new things lol. Keep bringing the variety, love the videos.
Thanks so much for this video. I clearly remember my 10th grade year, hearing this song, and realizing that hiphop is far beyond just words. It was so inspiring, because when I first heard it, it was with the music video, and it was so powerful. I knew what he was rapping was real and true, and I could feel the pain and come up in this voice. Kanye is one of a few artist, (Eminem, Lupe Fiasco, Kendrick Lamar, and Common), that I still go out and purchase the physical copies of their projects. This song was the one that officially diverted my ear from the Lil Jon Crunk scene, and made me fully appreciate the Kanye's, N.E.R.D., and Commons of the rap game, much more than I had before this. And I am still riding that wave, Kanye created all those years ago. This video brought back so many good memories, and how this music got me out of a rough time in life, and for that, it is much appreciated. Again, thanks so much for the raw honesty in your videos, the actual breakdown of lyrics and the talk of production and beats. Your channel is unmatched. Take care, guys!
Little trivia: Bloodclots comes from blood cloths... it's slang for tampons. You'll also hear Jamaicans call people 'bumbaclot', which is toilet paper.
Still one of his greatest songs. Y'all should peep these: Nature of the Threat by Ras Kass All That I Got Is You by Ghostface The Purge by The Game Exhibit C by Jay Electronica Street Struck by Big L Good looks guys keep up with the consistent content.
I'd love to watch you guys react to Lil Dicky - The Antagonist... He talks about what he thinks about modern rappers and is more serious than his usual songs.
This song is in my top ten... I hate his political stance but I can’t deny how he was such a legendary lyricist and spitter... regardless I’m not with no maga shit
Man y'all need to listen to the Original "Through the wire" by Kanye. Like before he re-recorded it. You felt his pain and hurt from his mouth being shut. Like dude recorded this only 2 weeks after he was put in the hospital! Man Kanye was that man back in the day. First 3 albums were legendary
Man I love your guys channel you guys break everything down and actually listen to the lyrics along with the delivery of everything. You guys should do Hail To The King - Avenged seven fold. I know you guys love guitar and I know you guys will love this keep up the awesome reactions man love you guys
I'd lowkey go ham on the like buttons for your guys shit if i could. Way to highlight real shit and promote positivity. And college dropout is a top 25 all time rap album. Coming from a guy who personally is not a fan of Kanye West, i wont ever take that from him.
that was awesome. Love that yall break down the lines. Im new here so heres my first request Alex Leon on Sway in the Moring. he has a Pac and Bigge Scheme that is Craaazzzyy! He also has a freestyle on funk flex....Barrrsss!
Man I love when reactors show love to Kanye 🔥🔥 Dude is a fucking legend man. Unless you grew up listening to his music you will never know why he's so amazing. He's in a dark place right now but the same people talking shit ahout him are gonna be the one's crying and talking about how much they miss him when he's gone. Just like they did to MJ. 💯💯 Love your guy's reactions man ! Keep it up guys theyre fyyeeee 🔥🔥🔥
I am REALLY loving this content fellas, do keep up the good work. I love how genuine you guys are. By far the best reactors I've seen on UA-cam! By the way, if you get the chance it would be amazing if you guys could check out Fifty in Five by Hilltop Hoods. They are an Australian Rap Group and I think you'll really love their take on Hip Hop.. In either case, amazing work. I look forward to what lies install for your guys future.
Love your reactions. Nice to see people give their real thoughts on music and really look into the lyrics. You guys should look at calm down- Busta rhymes and Eminem.
Great one! You guys should check out Eminems remix of The Hills by The Weeknd. Great wordplay and it's a song that a lot of people don't even know existed so it'd be a sick reaction!
You guys missed one bit in the song @9:00, "If you could feel how my face felt, you would know how Ma$e felt". He isn't referring to mase the spray but Ma$e the artist who also had his jaw broken badly from being jumped by the Wu-Tang Clan. Also, the entire song was rapped LITERALLY through the wire since his jaw was still wired shut when he recorded this.
Could you guys maybe do something really metal? A band like parkway drive (old stuff) or maybe Breakdown of sanity, Erra, or Born of Osiris? I'd love to see what you guys think, be sure to check the lyrics out.
That album and that roll out was unlike anyone else since Kanye. Few rappers come out the gate with the level of heat. Dre, Kendrick, Wu Tang, Big, among others are in that league.
React to Lost One by JayZ......this song just makes you feelllllll it man so glad you guys are doing different musical reactions and not just modern day music!!!
Very good review my favorite verse was "burnt up like pepsi did michael i must had a angel because look how death missed" yes he was talking about michael jackson but he was also talking about michael the angel from the bible being his angel making death miss!
I've never listened to much Kanye but this was fire and you guys y are always putting me onto new music so I'll give this album a listen. Do some more Russ or Eminem. Loved the video guys!!!
Kanye is a hard man to like but he is so good. He is a visionary and a musical genius. He is the Prince of hip hop (musically). So original. I have a world of respect for his music. Great song and the use of Chaka Khan was brilliant. Great video guys. Keep up the good work.
He's gonna do him because that's the way he got to the top. Gotta respect that.
He's a killer with a pink polo and a backpack on
Name one genius that ain’t crazy
This beat is a 10. I remember when this first came out I went and bought the album immediately. Late registration is still my fav but this album is right there too

I have always maintained that this album, Kanye's first, is a top-5 all-time hip-hop album.

Christian true
Maybe not he's most recent albums
Kanye is a genius. He has classics and just ...yeah , easily a legend
I work at the hospital where Kanye got that operation (where biggie smalls died)
He rapped this whole song while his jaw was wired shut. Respect 🤘🏼
That Emett Till line was conscious and beastly.........ah we miss you Old Kanye
He never left tbh. You just miss his old music
Kanye's gotten better as an artist with time
I believe this dropped in 03 I remember living in Elizabeth New Jersey listening to this thinking it was the most impactful song of the year yet we’re we’re only half way into the year. I played it so much, it really spoke to me.
Heard this one on my way home and I broke down crying thinking of all the ones who lost their lives with Kobe in that accident. Them kids man. Damn....
This was a good review great job and breaking down the lyrics !!💯
Thank you!!

One of my all-time favorite hip hop albums. I remember buying it the day it came out. This was such a great song and it’s crazy what happened to him.

I don't know, I think I like the concept and the story behind the song more than the song itself. Kanye has made a variety of songs that can be considered better than this, even on the same album.

So psyched you guy gave a shout out to the legend herself and gave some love to the skillful and well though-out sampling. Love the channel, keep it going, y’all.
This song is brilliant, one of the best rap songs of all time
I still love CDs...but I'm 40 so.... I will have to look for this CD. Reminds me of older rap. I love hip hop from the 1990s like A Tribe Called Quest, Heavy D, etc. This sounds good too. Never listened to Kanye West before.

Happy to have come across this review. Loved this song when it first came out and still do. I am so glad I found your channel by watching Chris Stapleton reviews. Legend track! 🔥🔥 classic album!
You guys missed one bit in the song @9:00, "If you could feel how my face felt, you would know how Ma$e felt". He isn't referring to mase the spray but Ma$e the artist who also had his jaw broken badly from being jumped by the Wu-Tang Clan.

I heavily suggest doing reactions to Mark Battles, very slept on artist. His songs "tired" or "the truth" would be great. You won't regret it!

I hear so much Snoop flow in this, I love it.
Awesome video as always. Can you react to "Paper trails" By Joey Badass
Yes! More classic Ye!
Kanye is a hard man to like but he is so good. He is a visionary and a musical genius. He is the Prince of hip hop (musically). So original. I have a world of respect for his music. Great song and the use of Chaka Khan was brilliant. Great video guys. Keep up the good work.
