Y'all are spot on describing the depth of where Lupe's consciousness can go lyrically. Stuff that even a guy like me from Montana can vibe with. Great choice.
I took a class in contemporary music and our final project was to present a music video to the class and break it down. Naturally I chose Lupe Fiasco- Words I Never Said which had 2.3 million views at the times. The same years Lasers came out. I explained how under appreciated this type of rap/hip hop music was becoming and of course some of his content is meant for "free thinkers", "hip hop heads" or people looking for layers or depth to a song but even just a casual listen to anything by Lupe is nothing short of amazing. His hit songs are even great to a hip hop head like me, but his intellect and lyrical ability is faaarr too overlooked. I guess my prof must have agreed with me considering he gave me 97% on the presentation. Sorry about the long comment guys this just sparked a maaaad flashback lmao! Keep up the real hip hop discussions guys! #LostInVegasFamily #GeorgeandRyan
Jerod Conkel wasn’t his best album but it wasn’t garbage that’s too far. It’s like lupe’s equivalent of Kanye’s graduation. Still objectively good music, just much more radio friendly than the music that grew his fanbase out the gate

Thank you for showing us lupe. As you said, many people overlook Lupe, me included. I've gotten into rap a bit late. When I was young my dad introduced me to 50 cent, chamillionaire, and nelly, but my mom was who kept me from going much further. It wasn't until I was probably about 15 that I started listening to Tupac and Snoop Dogg. And grown to respect the artists before much more. I then went on a crazy binge of rap from the golden age and fell in love with Kendrick Lamar's persona. It is because of the fact I got into rap so late, most of my rap knowledge is from what was playing on the radio now and in the past. That is why the only song I had by Lupe Fiasco was "The Show Goes On". Great song to party to, but I never knew how smart and lyrical he was until I watched this. Thank you soooooo, much for showing him, and making me want to look more into him.

That Tetsuo and Youth though, in due time, will be an album that's also classic worthy but won't get the recognition. It's a long ass album but you're never ever bored and you're fully engaged all the way through. I guess like a dope fun 3 hour movie
My fav Lupe song. It is refreshing to hear Lupe be praised like he should cause so few understand and respect the genius he can reach on certain songs. Not gonna sit here and say every song he does is brilliant but then name an artist that is...

Peter Green wrong he alluded to "Gotti" already in the previous Jay z line which (with Lupe's mind) only lead me to believe he's referring to the Untouchables/The Mob

@@mahamedhabib8499 that would be too much honestly. That song is genius but it's too long and lyrically dense. They would need to do a podcast for it lmao.
Can't believe its already 14years since this song was out. One of my faves forsure. Everything about it is just amazing. Lupe the goat 🐐 🙌 . The best rapper EVER. Period.
You guys 100% need to listen to E-Dubble - Be a King, it's wonderful. E-Dubble unfortunately passed away a few months back, but his spirit definitely lives on in his music. You won't regret it. 😁
I'm a huge Lupe fan. It really excites me to see you guys dig deep into Lupe's lyrical prowess in this song

Prisoner 1&2 - Lupe Fiasco
This video made me insanely happy at how you guys were able to depict and understand that each lyric has a in depth meaning behind it. I would LOVE to see you react and breakdown Streets on Fire. Imo, that's one of his best songs ever and one of the best rap songs ever!
Lupe is a genius.
I love that y'all did this. I loved hip hop prior to Lupe but he definitely helped me fall in love with certain aspects of Lupe.
HELL YEA LUPE
🙌🏾🙌🏾 I wish you guys teach classes to young guys that need to hear this
Really hope at some point you tackle Lupe Fiasco - American Terrorist (from the same album)
Grew up on Lupe and glad i did. One of the first artists to bring into perspective how so many ills go on in the world. Intruder Alert is a strong favorite of mine too
Great video guys.

Please don't tell my mama this ain't Marijuana
Been subscribed for a week or so now and I loved the reaction to the RNB song to H.ER, S.Z.A.... jcole and Kendrick.... but this one right here made me a fan of ur channel! 🙌🏿....years since I kno Lupe’s work now and in Israel were I live ppl don’t know much about that level of artists like him, I just agreed with u with every word u described him. The song by himself speaks to me a lot .... and u broke it down for me - the parts I didn’t understood much at the time I first heard the song ( the parts that spoke about the hood). Thank u .keep doing What u do. Much love for u two ♥️
Lupe Fiasco - Failure
Lupe Fiasco - Double Burger w/ Cheese
would be fire
One of my favorite songs ever....so underrated and slept on
Damn, I kinda slept on Lupe for a while cause I saw about him being a Muslim and I've had a few arguments and grudges with a few, but damn. He's undeniable.
Yeah man. Go back and check out Food & Liquor, The Cool and the Tetsuo and Youth albums. If you're being objective, he's one of the best to ever do it.
Imagine missing out on one of the best lyricists to ever do it just because of his religious beliefs
🤦♂️🤦♂️at least you've changed your ways
Love this song, glad you guys did this one, I really enjoy your insight. So soulful, Lupe is amazing. I
This song is 🔥. However that 3rd verse is one of the greatest verses I have ever heard in my life from any era.
