Great tutorial man, thank you. I love your tutorials on songs like this because it lets me see how someone else is approaching it, & keeps me from getting stuck in a rut in terms of chord shapes/voicing.
There is more going on in this song than I could handle in a routine so I jotted it on an index card...and it took two sides through the "Large Verse". I like how you emphasize the chord numbers 4, 1, 6m, and 5. Really valuable work, Aaron, thanks for sharing.
Hey Aaron! How are you? So I have got somewhat alot of questions for you, and I was wondering how we can communicate, please let me know..?, so one question being what is you're basic or intermediate pedal boards setups for the covers that you do???
Thanks for reaching out. Fill out the contact form on our website and I'll get back to you www.impactkcworship.com/contact In regards to my pedalboard and rig setup, check out this video ua-cam.com/video/qFvH_9sykxY/v-deo.html
Sorry, that is approximate but is not the real part, you need dotted 1/8 delay/ a good recerb and check your hammer ons. Listen closely the multitrack.com rehearsal track and you can get the right rhythm. It will help you.
Sounds incredible and great job on the tutorial!!! I’ve been using a Kemper for over a year, but still haven’t gotten into using the onboard effects. I just downloaded your performance and it’s inspired me to give it a shot. Anyway, just wanted to say thank you for that. Oh, also...I’ve got a butterscotch blonde American Special Tele like your white one and have been thinking about upgrading the pickups in it. What do you have in yours?
Aaron, you are very competent, and this is a good lesson. Your use of numbers is spot on. However, what's up with casting this song in the key of C sharp? Have you never heard of its enharmonic equivalent, the key of D flat? E sharp, really?? How about D flat as the tonic and F as the 3rd? IMO, there is never a need to think in the key of C sharp. Seven sharps, one for every diatonic note. What a nightmare! (BTW, it's not just me. A quick check of praisecharts.com and songselect shows both of them have the original key charts in the key of D flat, not C sharp.)
A lot of guitarists think in sharp keys rather than flat keys when it comes to shapes. Most guitarists would prefer the key of B (5 sharps) rather than even the key of F (1 flat). It's total preference. Most of guitar playing is built upon shapes anyways. It doesn't matter what key signature you're referring to, you just move the shapes around accordingly.
Victor, we have never used a Line 6 Firehawk fx. However, Aaron used an AC30 type amp with the high end rolled off a little bit and the gain set right to threshold of breakup. The delay is a stereo dual delay with quarters and dotted eighths. Reverb is just a light room setting. If you want a walk-through of Aaron's rig, check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/qFvH_9sykxY/v-deo.html
Thanks for the tone compliment. Please notice in the description that this arrangement was based off of when they played it live at the Heaven Come Conference in Dallas, not the Victory Album. You're right though, you can achieve the same sound with the right repeats and not have too pick as fast. However, I've seen the Helser's play this live twice. It's not just the repeats you hear. The strum pattern is straight 16ths. You can do an up/down picking pattern rather than straight downs (like I did) which makes it feel less fast. Also, if you have 2 guitarists, one can just play the 16ths on the root C# and the other can just hit on the suspensions with the delay trails.
I was gonna say “what about the delay?” But the issue I have been getting is the feedback portion of the delay, the way Bethel does it, it’s seems the delay has a HUGE tail, I want to nail that because my delay pedal can really get up there with the ms.
@@crappy60 Really, they're accomplishing the sound with 2 guitars. One is covering the 16th notes and the other is hitting the suspensions with the delay tail.
Sorry you feel that way. Please notice in the description that this arrangement was based off of when they played it live at the Heaven Come Conference in Dallas, not the Victory Album. Why is his interpretation wrong? I find it rather tasteful! Terrible technic? Really? I thought he played it well, not real busy like some of the other versions I’ve heard. You guys should post your version to show the rest of us how it’s “really done”!
I must Preferred this one. Thank you
What, no capo!...LOL,,,,great tutorial, very well explained!!

God bless you brother,,,,,,,
Well done sir!
Awesome tutorial! Thank you for the extra effort you put in. Beautiful tones as well.
Awesome!!! This is really cool!
Good Stuff, Thanks!
Hello brother thanks for the tutorial ..can you recommend me an guitar effects as a beginner for church?! Thanks and Godbless
If you already have an amp, find a good delay and reverb. If you need something all in one with amp modeling, I recommend the HX Stomp.
I really enjoy your videos bro, God bless you!
Thanks David! God bless
Tone is great and the feel. I'm sure there is a dotted 4 and 1/2 delay added?
It's actually a dotted eighth and a quarter panned opposite of each other.
Great tutorials, if you could just give some advice on tone that would be great!
Thanks. Try a couple of these videos that we've posted in the past. ua-cam.com/video/H0gBNHTcRUI/v-deo.html , ua-cam.com/video/jl-YyhOZhtA/v-deo.html
Sounds good! What pickups are in your tele? I'm trying to decide between alnico 5s or 3s for Bethel type music.
This tele has Texas Specials.
It helps if you explain fingering position. Not everyone knows the chords your playing.

Are you in overland park, KS?
Yes, we are.
Doubt question; what key are you in? Thanks!
Original key
anyone have like a chart where all the chords are laid out?
What key are you plating it in. We need to do it in key of a. How do i transpose
This is in C# so you'll need to go down 4 half steps.

And let us know how the Kemper pack is working out for you!

does anyone know how to get that tone on Line 6 Firehawk fx?

@@AaronWesley okay cool thanks!
What key are you playing this in?
Db or C#, whatever works better in your brain lol
Ok I thought C# 😂😂😂 I believe we are playing it in C. Thank you 😊
What key is this in?
The original key is Dd
Db or C#, whatever your brain prefers lol
Db?
Yes, or C#. Whichever clicks in your brain better, lol.
Db > C#
I don't wanna think about playing an E# or B#
Haha, understood. My brain works better in sharp keys for some reason.
sounds good, but not correct. also, with dotted 1/8 at the correct tempo you shouldn't have to pick as fast (half as much). killer tone tho!

That´s a mexican or american tele?
American with Texas Specials.
Mich better if the camera is closer
Better if it has tabs.
logic homicide
This video is really difficult to learn from
assuming everyone knows what chords you are talking about isn't good. maybe tell the strings, fret, finger positions for us armatures.
Terrible technic and wrong interpretation. Do you have access to a proficient guitarist for these demos?
