    LYRICS
    Verse 1
    I raise a hallelujah, in the presence of my enemies
    I raise a hallelujah, louder than the unbelief
    I raise a hallelujah, my weapon is a melody
    I raise a hallelujah, Heaven comes to fight for me
    Chorus
    I’m gonna sing, in the middle of the storm
    Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar
    Up from the ashes, hope will arise
    Death is defeated, the King is alive
    Verse 2
    I raise a hallelujah, with everything inside of me
    I raise a hallelujah, I will watch the darkness flee
    I raise a hallelujah, in the middle of the mystery
    I raise a hallelujah, fear you lost your hold on me
    Bridge
    Sing a little louder
    In the presence of my enemies
    Sing a little louder
    Louder than the unbelief
    Sing a little louder
    My weapon is a melody
    Sing a little louder
    Heaven comes to fight for me
    Tag
    I raise a hallelujah

    Just uploaded a playthrough and tone walkthrough with original parts I came up with since I decided not to try and learn the original parts and see if I could come up with more interesting parts. Interesting comparing to the actual parts now that mine video's done!

    The key of C# has an E# and a B#, so it's more commonly called the key of Db, however, I think he calls it C# due to using the C chord shape 1/2 step up on the 4th fret with a capo on fret 1

    • @zacharytrojanowski1287
      @zacharytrojanowski1287 4 роки тому

      456or7strings actually it would have an F and a C. We as guitarist call it a C# because that’s just how our minds are wired. Pianists would call it a Db due to that being how their minds work.

      It seems like everything is a half step higher than the key because of the capo. Do we assume the guitar is tuned down a half step? Key of C# = C#-D#-E#(F)-F#-G#-A#-B#(C)-C# (or key of Db = Db-EB-F-Gb-Ab-Bb-C-Db). It starts out playing a D (5th string, 4th fret, capo 1) instead of a C# (or Db).

    • @zacharykim295

      Same! The bassiness of the lp is not suited to modern worship trends, however. When I use my lp, I often have to crank the highs.

    • @josiahlim8411

    • @christopherfettes390
      @christopherfettes390 4 роки тому +1

      I think Kari Jobe's guitarist uses a Les Paul Custom. Chris Tomlin's longtime guitarist Daniel Carson uses a Les Paul, too. I use a Les Paul Traditional Pro at my church. It can be a little too fat, but it is more versatile than some might think.

    • @ethanreed8400
      @ethanreed8400 4 роки тому +1

      I use a LP and just started using a Firebird (which I feel is never seen in a worship setting). The LP is definitely more chunky which is what they're obviously known for but I make do lol. The Firebird (I have lollar pickups in it) definitely is more tonally close to what modern worship guitar goes for as it has a more chimey bright sound to it.

    • @Xn4W
      @Xn4W 4 роки тому +1

      It doesn't matter what guitar you use. As long as it has low output PAF style humbuckers that can do cleans really well. You can totally use a Les Paul in worship because worship guitar relies heavily on effects. Chances are you will have multiple EQ options on some pedals, just dial down the bass, balance the mid, and raise the highs. If you strat/tele, do the opposite with the EQ. Pickups and amp/cab are where 90% of your tone happens so it doesn't matter really what guitar you use, just a preference thing with all the effects creating most your tone.

    00:19 a tape what jonathan?

    • @StringsOfCrossroads
      @StringsOfCrossroads 5 років тому +2

      Cam Pablo a Tape Delay he said. This was how Delay was originally done where the guitar signal was put through a tape machine and then fed back as a repeat. These days many delay pedals simulate this effect. Essentially it’s a Delay where the repeats get darker and trail off. If you have a basic delay pedal with feedback level and tone set the tone to the right and this will make the repeats darker and trail off without getting in the way of the dry signal and this will give you a similar tone to what’s exampled here.
