brand new chains stretch big time in the first few hundred miles as everything is bedding in, also keep an eye on spokes, i have this bike and have 3k miles on it in 5 weeks, i have adjusted the chain once, and i will adjust it again soon, and that should be ok then for several 1000 miles, chain and sprockets normally are good for about 20k miles if adjusted and lubed every 1000 miles.
Love mine! I have about 400km and can already say it's the best bike I've ever ridden. My first adventure ride was on a 1981 Honda XL 500. A buddy and I rode 3,300 miles from Northern CA to Port Angeles WA and back in 1986 over 15 days. Of course the term adventure bike hadn't been invented yet.
The chain is not tight enough. Did they replace it in first service? Mineral oil might have a slight heat effect but it is mostly that huge and heavy cat in the middle. Just replace it with a open mid pipe with a resonant chamber and a nice end can. I am more than sure that will help dissipate the heat much faster.
Hey mate, thank you for this video! And please share your thoughts after the trip to the UK, I'd be super interested to watch it. Best regards from 701 Enduro rider based in Warsaw too 👋
Hi, just picked mine up on Friday, so far so good, apart from the chain, it’s as loose as yours ! Only done 200 km What did they have say about your chain Enjoy your bike Bye Mark
How is the clutch pull while riding in traffic, I will also use it a lot through town when I buy it come spring time. Also I plan to mount the 2 finger clutch extension arm by Camel adv. I heard people say it’s fantastic for traffic and off road scenarios. 😊
@@twowheelsandwatches5581 Well yes sure quick shifter is great and definitely another reason why I want this bike. But can’t really use the quick shifts all the time, first to second in heavy traffic do you use it even then? Because I have read somewhere that on KTM and thus the Husky also quick shifter works much better if you use it from second to third up words. Even though everyone says it’s the best and the smoothest quick shifter on the market.
@@roverroko306 yeah I use it first to second too…Intend to accelerate hard enough everywhere. The town work I have done has been fine tbh and I suffer from arm pump in my clutch hand
Hey…funny because I had the same two on my list!!! Of course it’s personal, but what won it for me was the following…1. Heated stuff included, excellent off road suspension, bigger engine good for longer distances, tried & tested KTM engine making parts easy to find, no huge heat blowback from the catalytic converter. It’s probably more money than the Aprilla though, so that’s a consideration. But long distance on this bike is a breeze. The saddle is really comfy!
Same thing for me also. Been waiting since Dec. 2022 (deposit) to get my Norden EXP. and it was suppose to be here in May and I just got it 2 days ago (July 7). I almost bought a used Tuareg 2 days prior because I was still had no answer on the Husky delivery. Grrrr. So I went and checked it out and it had only 1900 klm. on it. So I decided to do a little more investigation on them because I found it odd that someone was selling it so new? The first thing I noted was its almost impossible to get parts for them and many cases taking (3+-) months to get. There having a lot of issues, mainly torqueing of many critical bolts. Even the guy I was going to buy the bike from said the same thing and he had gone through the hole bike re-torqueing everything. But some of the problems people were having were internal engine bolts coming loose, poorly machined housings that needed to be replaced etc. Yikes. Anyways, my first impressions of the Husky are really positive and as many have already reported. Now, I'm a power junky so this suited me a lot more so than the Tuareg although the 660 is no slouch. The one thing I think you should consider is the seat height because this bike is tall. I'm 6' 1" and have a 33" inseam and I'm standing on the balls of my feet. There is way more bike here than 98% of us have skills. Going off road is going to be interesting? Support for the 901 is going to be a lot better as there are many parts interchangeable with KTM 890. The dealer network for Aprilia is still very small. Hope this helps.
Just got mine yesterday. Can’t wait to get some big rides in. 🎉
Congratulations. Seriously why would people need to buy any other bike?! Enjoy the ride mate.

Thanks mats for the helpful insight. I’ve been on shaft of belt for the last 15 years and forgot the intricacies of chains! 🤣

Long suspension travel, calls for greater chain slack, be careful !

Hey I will....work is keeping me busy 🙂
@@twowheelsandwatches5581 looking forward to it :)
Best regards from Warsaw!

So I’m 6ft and a 33inch inseam

Hey mate, the clutch pull is pretty good actually. I have not found it to be an issue, but that maybe because I use the quickshifter alot

Trying to decide between this bike and an Aprilia Tuareg 660 ?? what do you think ?
