Reminds me of an excursion that we took a number of years ago. Our plan was to travel logging roads to a destination of a camp next to the river that feeds a nice lake here in Oklahoma. This is a time before hand held GPS, cell phone apps and internet. We picked up a timber company map of the area which were pretty good for the area we were in. What we should have done was compare the area with a topo map. Turns out our destination happened to be on a bluff, overlooking the river, about 100 ft up. Nice view except heavy growth. We learned a lesson and eventually found another road that took us to a place like we were looking for but added a few hrs to our trip

Good to see you exploring northern Ontario , I've done quite a bit north of Lake Superior . You will find a lot of back roads and trails that get close to lakes but not quite there , it's a pattern up there , sometimes you get lucky and can get right to the lake . But you are correct there are so many forest roads and trails it's unbelievable , it would take a couple lifetimes to explore them all fully . Good idea doing the shakedown run before the Trans Taiga , as I said in the comments on your last video the Trans Taiga is very, very remote and rugged , make sure the jeeps are sorted and bring tools and spares just in case , tire repair etc.. And don't forget to go see Mont Naappaayaakuuchii , it's definitely not a mainstream tourist or even overlander destination but it is super remote and obscure , not many people see this spot , it is really out there deep in the bush and far out , that is the attraction , super cool off the wall destination , and such a great scenic track to get there. Cheers Wild Bill , Overlanding The Boreal forest , North of Lake Superior , Arctic watershed , of Northern Ontario and northern Quebec , Trans Taiga , and James Bay shore . Never stop exploring.

We haven’t had any issues with wild animals. Typically animals in a national park or quite bold, but out in the world. They are very very shy and stay away as much as possible. We do carry bear spray always, and depending on which country we are in, we have other types of personal protection. 👍🏻

Beautiful drone shots. Excited to see what Ontario is all about! Did you guys get new tent toppers for the jeeps??? Couldn’t believe how easy they closed!! No one on the roof shove and pushing it into the carrier. Looked automatic?? If what I think I just saw, it’s amazing! So very much easier. Make sure to check your wenches. Lord off grid lifesavers. One more question. I saw on a sail boat and cruiser where they booth had Crock Pots with locking lids. They were able to be secured in place. At the end of the day, the meal, or most was ready. Is it possible to do on a heap???

I would totally accept or expect a response such as, 'we provide coordinates for our patron subscribers'. Hard to grasp the response, "We don't know the coordinates ..." With the satellite emergency coms devices you have, you always know your coordinates. Still enjoy the wonderful scenic views you share with us and allowing us into parts of your life. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you are enjoying the videos. As far as that statement I made, that was referring to people asking for good camping locations in Ontario and us not being able to share them because we haven’t done very much camping in Ontario up till now. Once we do visit a site, we always record the coordinates and post them to Patreon. Now that we are spending some time, exploring our own backyard, we will have plenty of locations to share in the future. Have a wonderful day.

Sometimes I try to guess which family member edited / produced each segment - choice of music, cinematography, etc., seem at times to reflect the divergent styles of the various contributors! Am I correct that you each take turns in that regard?
where is the daughter it's obvious she is not on this one and actually hasn't been seen too much at all lately actually most of the winter it seems she did do a little narration threw the winter but other than the part where you say see you next time thing. you might as well address the situation with her.
Caroline just recently returned from her trip to Europe. She is going to be committing to a year of service with our church. This is something she has been wanting to do for a long time and we are super excited that she is going to be able to fulfil this dream. We of course will miss her during this time, but are 100% in support of what she is doing. We also look forward to when she will be back on the Epic Family Road Trip. She will share quick video clip of what she’s been up to you soon. Thanks for asking and happy Sunday.

Your cooking is amazing. I don't know how you manage to carry so much food. So much meat. It would be interesting to know just how long you can last between store's once you put the drone up it shows just where the lake is. And any trail to it.
9:27 looks amazing can you tell the camera and lens sir Amazing
Nawwwww Lando, so much beauty around to see and to be able to travel around it is amazing, thank you for sharing, take care and stay safe from your kiwiNZ famz❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you. Have a wonderful day in beautiful NZ 🇳🇿

Just watched the video. Just a heads up- I saw during the slow-motion footage of Vandi that the front bumper seemed to shift up and down a little bit… or maybe it’s just me. Either way, may be worth a check.
Definitely will check that out. Thank you.

just found out here recently if you watch the advertisements that gives you extra money I will never miss a advertisement you deserve very much
Wow. How the world do you guys find these places to go. I’m on the count down to military retirement- taking a year- out there.
Blissful
Lando is such a good boy!!! I was wondering if you could do a tour of the Jeep and the tent that you have on top of the Jeeps. I have a 2010 Jeep, hard-top 4 door Wrangler. I love to camp and my husband and I ten camp. I am very curious to know about the system you have on the Jeep.

Are the boys taking their bikes on the Trans-Taiga Road?
I see you swapped out the Patagonia Milestars for the General Grabbers on both Jeeps. How are you liking the grabbers so far and what made you decide to move away from the Patagonias? Glad to see you back on the prowl!
You may have addressed this question in another video....but, your maxtrax mounting system on the rear tire? What product is that?
I think I have a pretty good idea where your heading on your next trip……worked in exploration in that part of the country, it was a tough slog but absolutely stunning.

Carol. The food looks so yummy. 😋
Have you tried fixing a camera 📷 onto Lando when he's off on a run?
Yes, we haven’t found a good solution for stabilization yet. We do have a follow drone that we might use.

Mom looks for moose poop and the son's look for Chaga! Lol!
What is the name and brand of the dutch oven pot holder you are using for cooking? I would like to get one.
Here’s the link jaschenkco.com
It’s a must have for the outdoor kitchen 👍🏻
In all your travels have you ever run out or come close to running out of food and or supplies?
Yes, On this trip we definitely had to get creative about what to eat for dinner 🍽️

OK, I am definitely interested in that route you are planning on taking. What roof rack and tents are you using?
The tents are American Safari JXL by www.redriverrigs.com 👍🏻
@@EFRT OK. So it is part of the extension that you put on the Jeep. I am not going to be able to do that. I do appriciate you getting back to me. Enjoy your travels. I am using your episodes from your trip to the Arctic Ocean to help me in planning my own trip up there.

Recognizing that you have built up both the jk and the jl, what are your thoughts on the advantages to having matching vehicles so you can support a single set of parts / backup systems when traveling so far into the wild?

Love your channel. I did Trans Taiga on a motorcycle. Epic trip. There are some amazing places up that way off the James Bay Highway. Shoot me a message if you want some suggestions (you are probably getting a million anyway). Safe travels.
Has Jeep ever approached you guys to get you new a Jeep for Vandi?
Not yet. That would be cool though. 👍🏻
Love your adventures, massive fan from Australia! How many miles does Vandi have now? Still the original engine?

Love from Pakistan ❤
Thanks for watching in Pakistan 🇵🇰
in the early drone shots of you traveling there are trees that "appear " look white , are they dead? do you know why or is it just nature doing its thing? Thank you
Yes those trees are budding and will be leafing out green in a week or two. The forest will look a lot different soon.
@@EFRT nice😀
You make such delicious looking meals! Has it ever attracted bears or other animals?
Excellent camera work!

Have a wonderful day.
so cool wish we could let our dogs run like that.

What’s that pot stand called?
its a Schenk by www.jaschenkco.com
What lake are you on ? .. Muskokian here 🎉😊
Probably a really dumb question, but are you in some kind of a national/regional park or preserve? How do you know it's not private land?
Looks like you got a new camera? Or the video just is playing higher def. Now I am hungry 😂 and looking forward to seeing how the XL builds are holding up.
No Carolyn this trip?
Owesome soundtrack!!! I feel esence of adventure ! Can you get mi song name? Thank’s🍺
How far can the dog run?
❤❤❤
Still waiting for an invite to dinner 😅.. Just kidding.
Always welcome 👍🏻
@@EFRT Awww. Love you guys!
@@EFRT I was talking to my wife, and we were wondering, where do you guys get all your meats?
☺️💕
💕🌺🌸💮💕
What happened to the daughter?
No Caroline for another year added to her many absences from the channel over the last 6 months. Pretty disappointing.
Helllo from İstanbul .. 🇹🇷👍👏👀🌺🥰
👍 ❤ ✌️
I noticed what appears to be a Backboard, to you carry a defibrillator? Assuming that all of you are Certified in First Aid ⛑️
Not currently but yeah a defib is a good idea
