    There will never be another TV hero like The Lone Ranger. Clayton Moore was and will always be The Lone Ranger. What a message. This message is sadly needed today. RIP kemosabe.

    When I was 5 or 6 I would have been ecstatic to meet the Lone Ranger. Loved that show and my brother and I had the action figures. We got them for Christmas in 1957

    If it wasn't for his familiar voice, I could've sworn this was another actor (he still looked so young). At that time he was 66, could still skillfully twirl that heavy Colt (although prop guns for twirling scenes are aluminum), and looked fabulous! Still my hero.

      I am 70 now, but a very,very long time ago, when I was a kid, b/w tv, there was a western on the tv, all of a sudden I heard that voice,
      a very familiar voice, it was him, it was clayton moore, it was THE LONE RANGER, before he was the lone ranger. I SAW HIM WITHOUT HIS MASK!!!

      Mdelta2000 the lone Ranger movie 1980 1981 brought a law suit against Clayton Moore. They felt (the new producers) he was to old to wear the mask. They thought that he (clayton moore) took away from the character.

    Taking his mask away was like taking Fonzie's
    leather jacket away from him. The man still
    showed dignity & honor. R.I.P.

    • @wh4193
      @wh4193 5 років тому +1

      I never understood why they took away his mask, there wasn't a reason.
      And that's true, in the first season of Happy Days, I think, the Fonz wore a windbreaker. He couldn't wear his leather jacket.

    I have a few random memories of being at this particular event. I would have been 9 years old. I was hoping to see my 9 year old self in the audience...but no such luck. I remember right after we got his autograph we went to the Target store next door and got a couple of T-shirts for a new Lone Ranger movie that was supposed to come out.

    I believe Clayton Moore was on tour this year (1980) he was in Tampa around that time, (I think I have the newspaper clipping too) I wasn't able to go but someone brought me a poster with him and a local fireman on it, I still have it somewhere. He was a great actor and perfect for the part, as was Jay Silverheels. Not sure if he got the mask back or not, how dare they try to take away that mans dignity!

    It was a joyous occasion for Lone Ranger fans when Clayton Moore won his court fight
    and could wear the mask again. Those who tried to stop him were producing a movie and thought Mr. Moore was the wrong image they wanted people to see. KARMA went against those folks and they lost the lawsuit, Plus their movie was a major FLOP. Truth, honesty and the freedom to choose prevails!

      Yeah and do you wanna know the kicker of the whole thing. The guy that played the Lone Ranger in that movie around that time Klinton Spilsbury, turned out he was gay, slept around with all kinds of men. Geez where’s the morality of that. I bet Clayton Moore was pissed they were trying to ruin the image of The Masked Man. Thank God we had Moore at the time. He was, is, and will always be the real one and only Lone Ranger.
