I just watched the episode of The Greatest American Hero featuring John Hart, and it made me decide to do a search of his name, which brought me here. Pretty cool to hear about the real stories of television and movie production. It's not a half hour job, despite what ends up on the screen.
Wow absolute food. 11,000 people viewed this trailer and 2 comments ? What a champion this guy was, a real surfer - loved So Cal and mexico - the only person I have ever heard of who was born in LA - a real horseman - and Errol Flynn always said the same thing about the old sward fights - they were deadly ! Geez John I wish I could have picked you brain and chewed the fat because its clear to see your modesty and class in a world of spinkters and egos from people who have done one commercial. Thanks John and don't snake my wave !
Recently on eBay the estate of John hurt's agent was selling holsters that belong to the actor at one time I was able to purchase that holster for my gun collection it'll be a treasured peace!
Thank goodness for all today's extra tv channels. I hadn't seen 'Hawkeye and the Last of the Mohican's' since the late 1950's but the entire 39 episode run is on for the second time in recent months on 'Talking Pictures' Channel 81 here in the UK.
Firstly, he did not 'replace' Mr. Moore as The Lone Ranger! None of us kids ever thought he was Clayton Moore THE lone Ranger which was partly why Trundle ate crow to ask Mr Moore to return. Secondly, John Hart tried to play The Lone Ranger for only, one season-the 3rd season, not two; a deplorable attempt at that...
That's the same way with Frank Gorshin and John Astin. Astin played the Riddler in the second season. And then the question comes up on social media who was the better Riddler. And it was clearly Frank. And Astin did a good job, but Frank was the one all the fans remembered. Some fans are very negative toward Astin's acting, just like LR fans are with Hart.
I met him at a film festival and asked about that one. He shuddered and said that he'd been trying to forget that movie. He also had some funny Lon Chaney stories. Nice guy!
HawkEye was a neat show ,and John Hart was Under-rated.He was in alot of shows he didn't get credit for.

A great show....
Thank you for this.
Wonderful guy

Hart didn't replace Clayton permanently, only for 2 years then Clayton was back on board.

Edit: Lone*, Trendle*
John Hart also appeared on Leave It To Beaver .
A class act, tough role to fill in as Lone Ranger. What a down to earth gentleman!

6’ 3 Lone Ranger!!!
John was also on I Love Lucy he played a lifeguard and then on another episode play Lucy's boyfriend !!
Jon Hall's first wife Frances Langford sang on the Bob Hope show.
I do like Clayton Moore, but to me I liked John Hart better as the Lone Ranger
NO WAY NO HOW! CLAYTON MOORE IS AND ALWAYS BE THE BEST LONE RANGER! "HI-YO SILVER AWAY"!
Always tough to replace a fan favorite, no matter how good you are.

When did the interview take place?
Was John hart Gay????
He mentioned having a wife in the interview....
Early 80s
Hawkeye was a great series!
my first time seeing Sunset Carson in his senior years.
Did you like SUNST CARSON AS A CHILD?
He was a good Lone Ranger but Moore was already type cast as the Ranger and my preference but John was good.
He was not bad. But he was the best they could come up with under the circumstances of 🤔
@@jeremyhodge6216 I would agree. Sort of like seeing someone replace Max Baer, Jr. as Jethro--just ain't the same.
@@waykno8478 I'm with you on this ☺👌💯
He also played the mad doctor in Blackenstein.

Errol Flynn was the man
It's too bad you'd have to have bionic ears to hear the super low audio.
Ear buds.
