I ride the same exact trucks, the Indy 149 classics, I haven't tried the hollows but I have friends who ride them and they aren't much lighter at all. I traded my thunder team hollows for my Indy's and I'm glad I did.
I swear to Goddess this kid is an international treasure. I wish he was my son. I wish he was a sibling or cousin or something. Sometimes, I wish he was my boyfriend. One thing I know for sure is that I hope he didn't blow his load too early by putting out a dozen or so amazing parts last year and getting cheated out of SOTY. I really hope he does his thing again in the 2020 and they give this treasure the SOTY that he deserves more than anyone else in the game except Mason Silva.

P.S. Got my first pair of Indys on my first Santa Monica Airlines 'Natas' deck about 35 goddamned years ago! Never rode another truck that I actually had to pay for.

Just axled my indys, they break in so nice
I prefer the 144 or 149 titanium myself depending on the size board I decide to ride. I always swap the bushings out for a brand new set of red conical Independent bushing when I get a new ones though. Started doing that in the late 90s because the stock yellow bottom bushing would always crack after a while. I replace the pivot cups any time I want to breath new life into them :)

Who remembers the b2 trucks or the grind king with the Allen key kingpin or the tensors with the removable plastic piece for nose and tail slides, can’t forget the Orion’s. I honestly ride Indy’s cause they work good.
I've still got an old set of grindkings on an old board that never gets used because they're 7.5" haha

There was another one with a Allen kingpin, ti-lite I think they were.
I got a pair of tensor mids and some thunder mids kids now days don't even know about grind king

Indy trucks have always been reliable, it's like having a Honda that lasts 20 years but has the power of a semi and the smooth ride of a Mercedes. I used to ride tensor but they gave me some trouble, and now I skate way less but the Indies I have have lasted an insane amount of time
Hondas are cheap and for poor people drive a Toyota better

The bushings did got a lot better, a bit softer, with a better rebound (Bones Hardcore bushings rebound is still the best) and a shorter break in period - I also like and prefer the button barrel bushing - I feel it turns a bit more smoothly and generally more stable i.e. less wobble. Good shit overall.

Dont understand why he is praising the indy bushings - have they changed the formula on it? For all i know they dont have any rebound and they crack fairly soon in the aging process , and i ride loose. I love indy but i always buy em off the shelves with a pair of Bones Hardcore bushings. Perfect mix imho.

Does he just prefer the baseplate with 6 holes? If so why? Usually 159 or 169 comes with that
@Jaqen H'ghar well the 6 hole baseplate is cast and I'm pretty sure a bit longer so possibly that helps with nose and tail slides. The whole video he has standard 149s but at the end he has the 6 hole baseplate which means it's not 149s its 159s or he intentionally switches out for that baseplate. If so why? What does Evan Smith notice? What's weird about that question mr cool guy? Why you watching truck videos dipshit

At 3:09, you can see his front truck and it's 4-hole, and at 3:13 his rear truck is 6-hole. Your guess is as good as mine, but I'd assume that Indy pros can request whatever weird tweak that they want, and yeah, maybe the 6-bolt baseplate is longer and more stable or so oddness that losers like us could absolutely never notice.
I bet it's a numerology/occult trip.. The rear truck is where you stay. Having the 6 hole baseplate plays into the numbers/mindset of the 6/spiral/man

Every pair of Indy trucks I've ever gotten the bushings were trash always pop out or crack n peel but once replaced with bones bushing waaaaay better than venture,thunder,tensor anything. Even those options same bushings indy kills all day
