I may be wrong about this but I think the Leopard Skins of the winged hussars were also tradition carried over from the original Hussars of the Balkans, lightly armored cavalry and raiders who were known to dress in exotic uniforms including pelts (possibly because of ottoman influence in the Region) You can even see some of that tradition in the Fancy colorful uniform of Hussars all over europe way into the 20th century and even today for ceremonial uses, even if the Leopard skin seems to have fallen out of fashion After the napoleonic wars. I think in general the european use of Leopard skin was sort of an Expression of the common fascination and attraction to the "exotic" namely the Middle east and egypt that began in the early modern era.
There are some misconceptions in the comments about winged Hussars. They were very colorful cavalry, they used real pelts of wild animals like leopards, tigers, cheetahs, lions, bears, and other predators. They also used dyed skins that imitated leopard skins etc, and they were often very colorful: white skin with red dots, red skin with white dots, red and black, etc- these were popular in Lithuania in XVII. I am always surprised at the number of big cats (leopards and tigers) as well as wolves that prowled the desolate mountains of the Korean peninsula and even roamed the streets of Seoul and the palace grounds.
Minor nitpick/addition, but Ares/Mars is a bad example of Greek/Roman gods being the same, as thats a case where there actually are differences :D Mars has a whole load of farming connotations that Ares as far as we know lacks, iirc Mars was originally an agriculture god before syncretising into the war god when the Romans copy and pasted. (I think most of the gods were basically the same but with slight attitude changes at times. IIRC Jupiter is a bit more severe and stately than Zeus?)

Surprised you didn't bring up Nubia(Cush). Uniform of the Nubian Warriors were leopard skins. The Archers were one of the deadliest that challenged the major powers in that region, including Rome.
This is one of the main reasons there are so few left

Minor nitpick/addition, but Ares/Mars is a bad example of Greek/Roman gods being the same, as thats a case where there actually are differences :D
Mars has a whole load of farming connotations that Ares as far as we know lacks, iirc Mars was originally an agriculture god before syncretising into the war god when the Romans copy and pasted.
(I think most of the gods were basically the same but with slight attitude changes at times. IIRC Jupiter is a bit more severe and stately than Zeus?)
what about south America? Like the aztecs
Wow

But they don't make hippo print clothing!
I wore leopard print gear when I played paintball and people would make fun of it until I disappeared in tall grass or wooded areas.
