Thank you! I took your advice and I bought the Howard's Wax product based upon your recommendation. OMG, my drawers have been stuck since the 1970s and so I rarely open them, except when I want to have a real fight, and this product brought them back to life. I am going to mention you in my positive amazon review!
Thank you, thank you. I used the Feed & Wax and it worked! This saved an old piece of furniture that I love but had grown tired of struggling with the drawer. Again, thank you very much.
Thank you so much for introducing these handy and inexpensive techniques and showing us how to do it step-by-step. I feel it is a must-learn life skill for everyone who has a cabinet w/ sliding doors or drawers at home XD So useful!!!
Thank you for the great tips. I shopped several stores looking for a bar of parrifin wax because I remember my Grandmother and my Dad used to use wax or a bar of soap. Lowes, Walmart, and Amazon only offered large orders or scented, expensive options. When I checked out Dollar General, their options were cheaper, but everything is scented. So, I went to Google and my favorite channel for recycling trash to treasures, popped up with exactly the help I needed. Tea lights!!! Inexpensive, available in a package of 2 to 6 to 10 units, and I have a use for any leftovers. Thank you so much!!!! Blessings to your family, your business, and your channels!! From Indiana, USA. ❤❤
I have to give props where they are deserved. I have a nightstand that has had sticky drawers for about a decade. I recently saw this video and figured "what the heck" with the wax. It just so happened that I had some of the stuff all this time. I tried it on the drawers and they instantly started gliding.🤯 Thank you.
I learned the soap thing from my Grandmother about 50 yrs ago. Living in the midwest, we get massive swings in temp and humidity. Works great on doors that stick as well.]
Thx Zeb! I’ve been using the soap and candle trick for years but I’ve never heard of Feed-N-Wax and thought it was a peculiar name bcuz of the “Feed” part, so I just looked it up via your link below. Now I know that it will “feed” my dry wood dressers. Gonna buy some now via your link. Thx again and God bless!
So glad I came across this video. I have this exact dresser type I need to fix and the drawers are in really bad shape. Fingers crossed these tips do the trick!
I got a 150 year old dresser I’m restoring. The drawers don’t really bind but I imagine this would be alright to do just so they glide a bit nicer. They rub which makes it stick a little but not really badly.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I didn't want to pay $10 per drawer for slides on my $20 dresser! This is amazing!!!!
NO! Don’t pay anybody $10 for any drawer! Just use some kind of wax, shoe polish or furniture wax, heck, car polish might even be cheaper! You Got this! Love and Merry Christmas! 🎄Grandma
Wow! That's a huge difference. I just brought a refurbished dresser very close to that style in the video. The drawers stick. This advice will come in handy. Thank you. 😁
Hi Jami. Thansk you for all of your information. How can I open a jammed drawer? I had the painters polish them and now they simply wont budge. Thank you in advance
Awesome tips! I have the same problem but much worse. It doesn’t even go in/come out. Same dresser type. Do you know of any steps to take in that case? More wax, more sanding? I’m in despair
Great video and I’ll apply it to the old kitchen dries that I’m trying to paint over! But I have a very serious question about an antique buffet table that was my parents ! One or two of the cabinets are so sticky that I can’t open the cabinet. The finishes prime and I’m afraid to take a sander to it because I don’t want to damage it or might never be able to find the same finish. What do you suggest I do first? Should I directly send it in with what grit, or should I yank it open and just put some beeswax on it? I also have the same problem on the old China cabinet as well! I’m just afraid to damage it, but I do want to fix that drawer/front pull cabinet? Thanks for any advice that is offered concerning this! It is also post depression. I’m very sentimental to me.!
About seventy years ago my father showed me the soap fix. When my kitchen drawer hardware hung up the other night, I tore it out and am in the process of making runners from screen moulding that will be duly soaped after gluing. No screws to raise their ugly heads . . .
@@annegreen-cw3lu There are photos, but I have no idea how to share them. Every time I close that drawer now I have to lift it just a little as I slide it in--and I'm pleasantly reminded of old furniture and old teachers.
Our new dresser has this wood on plastic sliders. Then there is a center metal on metal guide or track. Neither are lubricated. However, these drawers have a lock so the drawer doesn't come out fully and I see no way to remove them. Any ideas?
Thanks for the info u both really help us out we appreciate ur tip's n advice so glad u have a channel so we can learn all these helpful tips n idea's... Tfs
that dresser is awesome! So often the music used in diy vlogs is HIDEOUS. YOUR USE OF MUSIC IS RIGHT ON...not to much...not yoo little. Thanks again for your tips, excellent!
Oh, I've tried everything I see on your chest of drawers and still nothing! My drawer is built fit very tightly, so there's no room for any kind of push and pull mechanism. I was looking for some brilliant, yet simple idea. Thank you for your video.
I really love DIY in White Swan. It’s not the brightest white I carry but it’s not yellowish either. It’s what I used to paint my kitchen cabinets. jamirayvintage.com/products/white-swan-diy-paint
Tried this before minus the wax & wood polisher and it didn't last long. We have a rowdy house guest who slams drawers and cabinets and can be heard in closed door 2nd story bedrooms. It sounds like a kickdrum for cabinets and drawers like when you demo a wood structure or break apart a pallet.

I catch myself nodding my head as your hubby gives an explanation...I feel like he's speaking directly to me....Thank you!

Good demo and advice for dresser drawers. Going to abide by that. Already have beeswax good stuff.
Thanks Jeb! Easy listening, pleasant voice, great furniture tips.
❤️❤️
I use an old beeswax candle on slides. It works like magic!!!
Must be something about the bees wax!

You know what my dad used to always tell us? “STOP pulling it out with ONE hand”…. Easy fix!
I never post on UA-cam but this saved me hours - thank you so much!
Awesome product! I just used it and it made my 1930’s cabinet look brand new. Love it! Thanks for the great tip!
I love that the remedy is Howards feed and wax. I love that stuff and just got a new bottle.

Yay! That’s awesome!
Gorgeous dresser!!! Love these types of Antique dressers! ❤
I learned the soap thing from my Grandmother about 50 yrs ago. Living in the midwest, we get massive swings in temp and humidity. Works great on doors that stick as well.]
I never would have thought of this.
Excellent information to know!
You know I like it smooth.
😂😂😂
Thank you so much for recommendations that have natural ingredients!!!

It’s good stuff! I can’t tell you how many drawers it’s saved at our house!
Thanks so much Zeb! The Feed-N-Wax worked wonderfully!
Thanks so much Jeb.... MORE videos please!!!! :)
Appreciated, everyone has these items at home. 🤗
Thanks Jami. Just ordered a bottle of Howard's Feed & Wax.
Wow😳that’s so awesome. Great tip! Thank you Zeb for that.

A crayon will also work. I love these short videos tips. Thanks.
I got a 150 year old dresser I’m restoring. The drawers don’t really bind but I imagine this would be alright to do just so they glide a bit nicer. They rub which makes it stick a little but not really badly.
Hey Zeb, you are a lifesaver !!! Thank you 😊

Hey..thx for these easy tips!! Yay!
Excellent thanks
Great tip!
Thanks and God bless you.
Great tip! Thank you!! I have an antique chest that I will be trying this on. When I open the drawers it wakes up the whole house 🤣
Lol! No sneaking for you! 😂
Thanks for putting this up dude. Timeless info.
Couple days after this video I find the wax at Ontario antique shop! So exciting
Hello! The home in moving in has older wood drawers without rails. Is it possible to install any?
GOD BLESS YOU😇
That was very helpful, thanks!
Great video!
Here's a tip for doors that stick on pier and beam homes that become unlevel. If a door starts sticking, you can use these same techniques.
Super informative video. Thank you!
Paraffin (bars) will also work well 😊
Fantastic tips! Thank you I needed this :)
Hope it helps!
Thanks for the tip!
Thank you for showing how to keep the drawers functional. My question is how do you get them open when have swollen due to moisture? Please advise.
We have sanded ours down in the past to make them smaller
Thanks ❤
Ty..❤
Can you add drawer slides to an old furniture piece like this?
Great tips Zeb!! Not only will the drawer work better, it’ll smell good too, LOL 👍🏻😊
It does smell good!
thank you!
Hi! Thanks for video. How do you remove old contact paper in drawers?
I usually just scrape off with a razor blade. Then use lemon oil to remove residue. Mostly I try to not buy contact paper I have to take off lol

I have one that will only open 2”…this isn’t helping me 😢
Will feed n wax get rid of the deep squeaky rubbing noise of wood on wood as the drawer is opened or closed?
Great video and I’ll apply it to the old kitchen dries that I’m trying to paint over! But I have a very serious question about an antique buffet table that was my parents ! which soap did you use? is it any regular bath soap or any specific one. Any help much appeciated
Thank you, I'm working on an antique dresser and the drawers are awful. Great tip.
I have a similar dresser. Any idea where you can find those drawer handles?
Is there any way you can add modern drawer slides to these older pieces?
I think you would have to modify the drawers to accommodate them.
I have this same piece of furniture, would it be possible to add sliders on it or do I have to wax it up every now and again?
About seventy years ago my father showed me the soap fix. When my kitchen drawer hardware hung up the other night, I tore it out and am in the process of making runners from screen moulding that will be duly soaped after gluing. No screws to raise their ugly heads . . .
I would to see how you do that!
@@annegreen-cw3lu There are photos, but I have no idea how to share them. Every time I close that drawer now I have to lift it just a little as I slide it in--and I'm pleasantly reminded of old furniture and old teachers.
I found the “Feed and Wax” at Lowe’s for 8 bucks.....that’s some good stuff....
Our new dresser has this wood on plastic sliders. Then there is a center metal on metal guide or track. Neither are lubricated. However, these drawers have a lock so the drawer doesn't come out fully and I see no way to remove them. Any ideas?
Typically there is a tab on the slide that you can press in to release it. On most slides it doesn’t show up until the drawer is fully extended.
I have a dresser similar to this one. Is there anything you can install so the drawers don’t fall out or tilt?
Same. Y not add a wooden drawer slide?
Thanks for this. Just ordered the wax 😁
Thanks for the info u both really help us out we appreciate ur tip's n advice so glad u have a channel so we can learn all these helpful tips n idea's... Tfs

Ohh I have a dresser that may need this. I applied a ton of way yet still sticks.. It is 100 years old. 2:52
that dresser is awesome! So often the music used in diy vlogs is HIDEOUS. YOUR USE OF MUSIC IS RIGHT ON...not to much...not yoo little. Thanks again for your tips, excellent!
It’s taken some practice to get the music right. It’s not always been good lol. -Zeb
I am painting the exact dresser. Funny!
How much will u sell it for
This one sold for $295 but that was a few years ago now.
Oh, I've tried everything I see on your chest of drawers and still nothing! My drawer is built fit very tightly, so there's no room for any kind of push and pull mechanism.
I was looking for some brilliant, yet simple idea.
Thank you for your video.
Easiest solution and no need to remove drawer is to wipe the sides lightly with JOHNSON’S PASTE WAX. Wipe the center guide too if there is one.
I cant find drawer repair vid ??
Good job, but also turn the bottoms over they are rubbing.
2:33 lol
What is the best paint to use on my Great grandmothers pineapple bed. It’s for my granddaughters room. I was wanting white but not stark white
I really love DIY in White Swan. It’s not the brightest white I carry but it’s not yellowish either. It’s what I used to paint my kitchen cabinets.
jamirayvintage.com/products/white-swan-diy-paint
Jami Ray Vintage thank you very much. What about Fairy God Mother what color would be not stark white
Parchment or Ivory are nice off whites.
Jami Ray Vintage thanks I appreciate the help. Now to decide 😃
You didn’t put a link for the bead and wax. Oh. Feed n wax. Or I missed it.
Sorry! got it in there now.

WAIT! You are gonna PAINT that?! :-( I get it, and I'm sure it will turn out cute, but that is a beautiful piece as is. :-)

Guys just letting everyone know you might have to slide that along there.
Can any soap do or does it have to be Irish Spring?
Most bar soaps will work.
Make it wooden with the help of the Woodprix instructions.
That's a shame to paint a beautiful antique wood piece of furniture
