  • We're doing a step-by-step mini ITX PC Build Guide where I show you step by step what you'll need and how to build your next gaming PC or editing PC, but in a tiny package! The first PC I ever built was in an ITX PC because I just loved the small form factor, but it was really hard and I hope this serves as a useful guide for both new and seasoned builders! I'm shoving some crazy powerful hardware into the tiny Lian Li Dan A4 H20 case like Intel's 12th gen i9 12900k and an Asus Strix RTX 3090! Let's get Ahnest!

    Hey some folks noted that the AIO cooler might be better if you exhaust air out instead of pulling air in. I'll run some tests and report back. Links below - please use them as it helps this channel a LOT!

    In these type of cases always use fans as exhaust so cool air gets pulled in from the sides and the hot air gets pulled out. In this particular case first mount the aio then fit cables to psu point. Then the psu can fit easier and lastly put the gpu in, that way you don’t need to fiddle with cables in the end. 👌

    Shouldn’t your fans be set you exhaust (airflow going up) instead of intake since it’s a sandwich layout case?

    • @darrenngyh
      @darrenngyh 2 роки тому +2

      Agree, might get toasty in there with the fans as intake into a “cramped” SFF.

    • @Ahnestly
      @Ahnestly  2 роки тому

      So I thought about that, but one of the guys I watch said he put his as intake. I was thinking maybe bc the PC is so small, the hot air has to get pushed out, no?

    • @oxiabit
      @oxiabit Рік тому +1

      @@Ahnestly it is definetly wrong. hot air have to be pushed out from the case. With you setup, gpu, CPU and also PSU push hot air inside case, but there is no out fan and it will be lack of fresh air inside the case. Also your PSU's fan takes air from outside, then exhausts air to CPU's radior fan. but these two fan hits together face to face. it is not good airfow. I recommend you to flip CPU's radiator fans. with this way there will be fresh air circulation from bottom to top direction. By the way your video is great. thank you for sharing.

    How noticeble is the fan noise and where do it mostly come from?

    • @Ahnestly
      @Ahnestly  2 роки тому

      Haha so I'm getting occasional random resets when I'm going hard in Premiere Pro and Photoshop, so I might be running into some power issues. I think I can swap it out for an 850 sfx PSU and I'd be fine though!
      As for the fan noise, the GPU always does a great job at cooling - it's the CPU that's going to be starving for cooling, esp the 12900k!!

    Im planning a build in the same case becuase of this video. I have one question, I notice the backplate for the mobo has a cutout. Does that cutout allow for a 2nd NVMe drive to be fitted to the back of the mobo as alot of ITX mobos have the second slot on the back. Does it need to be a NVMe drive without a heatsink or will the samsung 990 pro fit on the back of the mobo as the heatsink is pretty slim

    • @Ahnestly

      So on this case, the front panel isn’t “magnetic” enough to hold your headphones up (but the side panels are, unfortunately, theyre the only source of air for your case so don’t wanna block it too much!).
