    *PLEASE READ, This car was a headed for the crusher. due to legal reasons it could not be parted or sold, I intervened and used the car for something else, additionally once we're done filming all the episodes this car is going to the museum of Industry. It's going to be used to show kids all of the components on the car and how they work together. Now dropping brand new cell phones from the building, that is a waste. ( I was told by a few viewers that they disliked this video because I was just destroying the car for fun, so not true )*

      They’re also responsible for a ton of the architecture and parts on the Chrysler LX platform. So every Dodge Charger and Magnum and Chrysler 300 has almost identical suspension components, interior layout is amazingly similar, same 5 speed transmission, and on and on.

    • @andrewhigdon8346
      @andrewhigdon8346 2 роки тому

      I used to have a 1995 Eclass wagon, then a 2002 ML320. Now, my Dodge Magnum constantly reminds me of the previous gen E class. My cruise control and blinker stalks are the same, the general layout of the dash instrument cluster, vents, center dash, all i the same places, switches all in the same places, etc. The seat frames are the same, door frames are very, very similar, and the list goes on. Mind you, it’s not like every single part is the same part number. But if you’ve gotten into every nook and cranny of an older E class, I think the W211(?), and a Chrysler Lx car(300, Charger, Magnum), you’ll be amazed at all the shared features.

    I myself own a similar E-class, and I must say this is very painful, yet obscurely satisfying to watch. To see a car capable of handling such a beating and still run is a representation of great build quality. It's also way more entertaining to see a modern car being used for this, instead of a typical junk yard vehicle! Looks pretty bad-ass too without the body panels

      +Konrad C yes I totally agree but my agreement was I would not sell or part the car out as this was against the law. However after the 4th or 5th episode this car will be repaired to the condition it was in episode 1 and donated to museum of science and industry to teach kids and adults alike the working components of a car. That was our deal and I will honor it even if viewers disagree :-(.

    These Mercedes e classes are AMAZING cars. Ours is at 156k miles and runs like brand new. I got into a car accident in it and I was shocked at how well protected I was - I came out unscathed and when I crashed it felt like I just stopped. No lunging forward or anything. The other car I hit was a Honda civic and it got thrashed.

    Great video and a superb idea! looking forward to the rest of the series. I've always wanted to see how far you can push a car's suspension before it gives out completely, and it seems quite a bit actually. Also curios as to how many chassis impacts (minor crashes) it can take before it just cant drive anymore, but that may be too risky for safety reasons.

      one thing about removing the doors would be to see any flex in the body/frame/subframe of the car as well as being able to see how the A-pillers can cope with flexing of the body going over the potholes. keep in mind that the doors are a stabilizer for the body in the way it is structured. everything on a vehicle works in unison with each other whether non car people know it or not. i havent even watched the second part to this (which is out now) and im sure that it has a lot to do with why he took them off for the first video. oh and btw the windshield does offer some level of integrity of the overall structure as well granted it is the weak point but it as well helps in the safety of the car.

    W211 Mercedes eclass cost 2 billion euros to develop (Wikipedia), this car is possibly one of the strongest cars there is, developed with the knowledge that it would be used in countries with these sorts of roads. It's not good to think that other cars will perform this way over similar roads. Seems a waste of a good car, those parts stripped off without respect would fetch a good used price. Not going to watch it again as it hurts me to see unnecessary abuse of what was still a very usable car.

    • @WarpedPerception
      @WarpedPerception  6 років тому +10

      +mike wa true but I did give the parts away to are there any class owners that needed them. I think the problem is that I didn't put all that information in the video, the situation with the car being a failed repo, also giving the parts away, but the car is not destroyed at all, there are four more episodes after this, and once you see them everything will start to make sense. After the 5th episode this car is going to the museum of Industry. And that's where it's going to stay, I wish I would have conveyed all that information in this episode but I will clarify it in episode 2. Thanks for your feedback and thanks for watching

      Aaron Bahadur thank you . Me and my team were very hard to make these episodes for UA-cam and Discovery Channel, my personal goal is to keep a positive tone with viewers on all levels. That being said part 2 posts tomorrow on UA-cam and I ended up doing like a 30-second intro showing the list of cars that we're going to the crusher as well as explaining the situation with this car briefly. A lot of people were upset because they thought I took a perfectly good car and destroyed it but they don't know what the future holds for this car this thing is headed to a museum as soon as we're done with the series. It's going to be used to teach Elementary and high school kids about how different components are built into the vehicle.
